When you rent units linked to inventory items or fixed assets and during the return process it's determined that some rental units are damaged, we can identify the quantity that won't be returned into inventory and automatically put that quantity on a sales line and charge the customer for the damaged items. This process would remove the damaged goods from inventory automatically (through the sales line) reducing the quantity available for renting
