He probably just had more of an up to date view. To be fair to the parents, for a long time a visible tattoo was a genuine problem for employment. That mother's concern is love. Amusing, misplaced, and kind of annoying, but she's concerned for the well being of her adult kid and wants him to thrive. That's a heck of a great thing.

I think it's hilarious (and maybe a bit sad even) how when the guy with the tattoos said that he has a real job, the mother instantly switched to the kids-card as she realized the job-card didn't work (cus it is kinda bullshit)
I know. It’s so dumb. Like half or more of the adult people I know (and work with) have MULTIPLE very visible tattoos. I work in a hospital. Most of those people are nurses and doctors and stuff. Like I can’t believe people these days are still so weird about tattoos.

@@THEL05Yeah someone totalled my only car, that I just got done paying off. I didn't feel so lucky in the moment but looking back I'm glad I didn't die. This guy would've been in really bad shape if he had been near that. Wood shrapnel, heavy falling branches, deafeningly loud noise, and risk of severe electrocution. I'm lucky I only broke my collarbone.

When I turned 30, I was in hospital after suffering a near death experience, and was really sick, that’s when I told my parents I had 2 tattoos at that stage, they were so grateful that I was alive that they went pretty easy on me about the tattoos. When my dad was dying I got about 4 more one of them was his name in Egyptian hieroglyphics in a cartouche on my chest partially over my heart, it’s the only one he didn’t tell me off for, as I told him I always wanted to keep him close to my heart. I’m nearly 60 and I have 10 tattoos, about to get two more in memory of my soulmate. Remember don’t get them on your face, hands or neck, because you can always cover them up then, which I do for job interviews and then I roll my sleeves up or where a T-shirt after I have the job, never been a problem.
nowadays 90% of the time people won't even look twice if someone has tattoos in a job interview, it is so normal now people just don't care. The only exception is if you have face tattoos and are going to be working in customer service or something

When I told my mom I was going to get a memorial tattoo for my best friend she had nothing except love for the idea she even gave me the money for it which just allowed me to tip my artist super well because a mutual friend that owns a shop tried to do it for free , I got a second memorial tattoo for my mother I showed her the design last Christmas when she was still alive and she loved it we lost her to cancer 4 days before my birthday in march . This Christmas just hasn’t been the same without her

Shoutout to my uncle who somehow managed to hide a full sleeve of tattoos from my grandparents for 30 years. They reacted pretty similarly when they finally found out.
Edit: Ahem, I shall not stand for this slander against my uncle, he is literally one of my favourite humans of this earth, literally the sweetest, funniest and most harmless guy there is. He is also called Bob... which I believe gives him bonus points. Also my grandparents are relatively chill, just very traditional and my grandma has some generational trauma going on which messes stuff up sometimes.

@@HellHunter00 It's basically a fancy slingshot. You can even get ones that fire down a tube for spear fishing, called a Hawaiian Sling.
This one is nice because of how compact it is while still retaining stability for use with darts and arrows.

I find it really impressive how they've got rats trained to sniff out undetonated land mines and it's extra cool how they can safely walk over them without being heavy enough to set them off. That's definitely one thing that a sniffer dog would be too heavy for. Rats are super intelligent! 😄

As anyone who has had domestic rats as pets can tell you, they're amazing animals-- affectionate, clean, and incredibly smart. With adequate training, they can learn at least as many tricks as a dog.
The only problem is that they live 2 to 3 years at most, many only live a year and a half....so they crush your heart much more quickly than more common pet species.
Imagine having a cat or dog with all the personality and cuteness, but they only live a year and ten months. It's hard.
it is called an African pouch rat. They are huge. those are domesticated but the wild ones you do not mess with.
They've also trained rats to find people that get buried under debris after earthquakes and other disasters. Their small size allows them crawl in the little gaps in between the debris and locate survivors more easily.

Tattoos have been a tradition for humans for hundreds of millions of years. There's nothing wrong with them, as long as the person wearing the tattoo actually cares and enjoys what they have.
Even tattoos obtained on a dare are a story to be fondly remembered years in the future.
