We must practice like our character does. Shadow boxing. But honestly, if you watch other people fight the boss, you can learn their patterns without having to actually fight them.
@@Giyuo That does help but a lot of it comes from muscle memory. I watched a video of the final boss about 3 times and he still wrecked me all night. It just takes practice. Seriously, go into any of the bosses with zero expectations of winning and just practice weaving their attacks.
After hours of playing the first level, I've come to accept that there's no way of beating the next level without first mastering the previous one. If I die during the level, I start over. Only exception is if I die during the final boss, so I can learn their fighting style and adapt.
That parry based combat is just so fun. It's unbelievably rewarding to be surrounded by enemies, then time a few parries right and all of the sudden you're just finishing guys right and left, clearing the room in style. I especially love that long apartment hallway scene in the first level. It's so cool when you finish and they change the camera angle back, revealing all the carnage left in your wake.
Is it generally better to parry individual blows by letting go in between and then hitting, say, block and up repeatedly? Or does it help to just hold block and then react with direction? I've noticed in my early practice today that just holding and then moving the direction up and down allows me to duck under punches or jump over kicks.
@@rolithesecond the space bar serves as a block/parry/dodge mechanic. you should experiment with this mechanic and master it, then figure out attack patterns and dodge and parry at suitable timings. one thing i would recommend is that you should dodge a fast barrage of attacks, then parry/interrupt when there is a gap between enemies' attacks.
This game is legit hard. It's very satisfying though, very, very satisfying. When you get an enemy's patterns down and just dumpster them. Feels SO good. The hallway fight scene in the first level is brilliant.

IF YOU ARE STUCK ON SEAN: Learn how to use the avoid/weave mechanic where you hold block/parry and push a direction. Sean's first phase is actually extremely easy, just hold block and press down before all of his attacks and then follow up with a heavy combo. Perfect dodges also fill your focus bar so use it when you can. Second phase is harder, he adds a sweep that's kind of hard to deal with and your openings for damage are smaller but the strategy remains the same, weave out of the way of his attacks and retaliate with only heavy strikes when you can.
Great video - a few things that aren't 100% clear in the game that are worth clarifying 1. When you unlock things permanently after unlocking them 5 times, it doesn't have to be in the same run - even if you die and have to start again, it'll remember how many times you've already unlocked it, so you could nickle and dime your way to an unlock even if you're having to start again a bunch. 2. The coins don't break after every use - from what I can tell they seem to break every time you age another 10 years, so break at 30+, 40+ etc. There has been a few times where I've died like 2-3 times and still not burned a coin because I've managed to defeat enough special enemies/mobs/bosses to drop the added years counter down
Yeah, you can use 1000 xp and reset the death counter, which means you can stay several deaths in your 60s, but if you die from 70 years old you are dead.
I've been just going back if I need to and almost farming the AP to unlock abilities, and damn melee weapons our OP especially when you start leveling them up..

I just got to the Club at 27 and I can make it to what I think is the end at like 45 and than my ass gets kicked, there's definitely a learning curve and I'm learning something new each time, excellent game...and damn objects our OP against enemies..

I’ve been waiting for this game to release. Ghost of Tsushima has been the only game to have me so excited for release. From samurai to martial artist, there is something about the brutality of beating the absolute dog shit out of people that fulfills me.
@Jon 91 What's crazy is I never could enjoy Sekiro and it's right up my alley..but yes it's got that type of combat system but tweaked a bit.. but this game you WILL be playing the same board over and over to get a better time, score, XP etc. in order to move on efficiently.. so it took me about 20 attempts to make it to the boss of the second level and I can't best him so I need to shave off some years in order to beat him.. the game is very addicting for the reason you're always trying to beat your best time or most efficient way to run the map.

I’m really struggling on the club level. Those 2 fighters before the boss mess me up good. I can defeat the Clubs boss without dying once but I just can’t read or understand how to deal with that type of enemy, especially 2 of them.

Tips I learned after beating Sean -Beating a boss allows you to fight them in training and learn their moves. Don't hesitate to end your run by beating them as an old person. Just prepare for the runback afterwards. -Don't mash buttons it will speed run your death and don't hesitate either you need to walk the line between speed and tactical thinking -Deflecting is everything if you can deflect every attack (asside from orange stagger hits) you can beat any enemy -You don't need to account for dodging left or right just pick a favorite side to dodge on since most attacks will be dodgeable on either side (except sweep and grab attacks which are up and down) -Even if they are temporary buy every type of skill you can (because every purchase builds up the permenant meter for the skill you bought, but in order to get xp you're going to need a full kit) -Weapons are extremely op in a fight including for enemies so you always want to go to disarm weapon wielding opponents. Usually the back forward heavy sweep or light light heavy combo will knock a weapon out of hands -You cannot knock around bosses with the back forward moves (push and sweep) -When fighting agressive yellow enemies let them fight you and parry them. Their stagger will build up so much faster -When fighting Kicking enemies block dodge their attack combos and it will leave them wide open -Never use your blue meter mid enemy combo you will get smacked wait for an opening or finishing move of a combo -Once you finish a combo on an enemy they will usually enter block mode so it's best to wait for them to attack immediately after
i love how the pacifist run is all about forgivness and kindness, yet you still give people horrible deaths with the blade weapons and blind them with glass bottles
The key is not to button mash in sifu and counter and parry, run away to reposition yourself, Never have back against a wall, always go into a fight with a weapon or bottle.
I have literally played the 1st lvl for 10h straight, have so much permanent unlocks, and experience in the game, and I'm also still 20y old and have the trophy kill nill, where you have to defeat a boss fight without dying in the lvl once! I recommend staring over after you've picked up the keys, then clear the stairs but instead of jumping to the next room, run downstairs and unlock the door, then clear the enemies, 3 of them, and take the totem and get the extra focus bar, then Try to clear until boss level as perfectly as you can play, and make sure to bring a weapon, no bottle, and also make sure you have 2 focus bars, so you can do a 360 swing, does a lot of damage and you can knock him down and follow up with the ground attack! Tip: learn not only to parry but also get to know how to hold block and time the avoids, these give you a couple of seconds to think about your next move, combo, etc. They also fill your focus bar! Another tip: the boss will level up once mid battle after a takeout, after that he has a machete so dodge enough, you can find bamboo sticks around the sides so pick them up, he also has an attack where he hides in the trees and jumps at you with a devastating attack for your structure and health! Hope this helps someone!

Guys. Change your controller settings. The movement is regular the left stick like in every modern game. But the time to dodge multiple times can delay for a few second to press the button upwards or downwards. My suggestion is to change the movement to the D-PAD! Its a lot easier to dodge multiple times. Especially against Yang. I changed my setting after i almost gave up and realized it would be much more efficient against the endboss. Try this out guys.
This game is fun and difficult af , I did amazing in the first hour automatically getting trophies and such then by the second level I started hitting a wall because a lot of the upgrades don't stick and the ones that do aren't really that amazing

For anyone who wants a good example of the tips about dying here's my experience. I ran level 1 and beat it around age 40, then ran 2 and died, retried 1 and got it down to age 23 with a ton of new upgrades. Basically as you learn, don't just run forward, look back and see where you can improve.
I used to take Kung-Fu as a child. This game is the only example online that I can find that is true to the actual moves and stances that I was taught. My Sifu sadly died of cancer a month into my training.

If you are low on funds its smarter to be frugal with your money and wait for the game to inevitably drop in price over time when you are more stable financially. @@Sketch2805Studios combat is frustrating af. The block sometimes work, sometimes doesn't. That is ridiculously annoying. I don't mind the difficulty, but it is *sooo* annoying when you block and enemies just ignore it. They set off chains of attacks, but your attacks they ignore and hit you, instantly breaking your combo.
This game makes Sekiro feel like child play.... The one thing I am constantly debating if I should play on controller or continue to play on keyboard/mouse.
what I did was the first stage of sean (IDEK HOW U SURVIVED WITH 0 DEATHS) is just keep dodging, the second stage as well, I dodged most of the attacks without me even knowing what I was doing, run at times if u need to and rely on ur super or whatever the blue thing is called. *I just spam dodge, and when he does the 3 hit swing where he spins around thats the easy dodge move and he steps back for like 3 seconds
I'm really enjoying it but it is a tricky game button-wise. Great brain exercise on that note though. You have to be really focused to make sure you're hitting the right button / button combination at the right time. I re-mapped the dodge button to CIRCLE - could not wrap my head around R2 as dodge ha!
The combat the level design the art style its all literally perfect but i really hate that you have to re run lower levels it just ruins the sense of progression
Can someone explain how the aging works in regards to the levels it makes no sense. Quitting is the best tactic as you stay 20 and keep the keys you unlock

This game is fun but I wish the camera backed up a bit. I feel like the camera follows way too closely. At least it backs up a little during combat but man. Oh and that little dash thing you do every time you start running is kind of annoying.
By far this was one of the Hardest games i ever played in my Life. I finally got the hang of it now. You got to play it multiple times. Stragetize execute a plan. When ya combat skills. And now i finally think it's endable. The Club Scene was hell on wheels. Na-meen. God bless ya platform though. One Love.
this is really a grind game. it is meant for u to replay as u collect keycards and codes from other levels for the previous levels that can take u to shortcuts. once u hv all those keys then u can go for perfect runs where u need the most lives for the final boss
im confused okay lemme get this straight lets say i do club leave it at 22 and leave 30 can i rerun that level and try to leave at a lower life or do i have to go all the way back to the beginning of the game a lower life overall run sorry im a little slow on understanding this to sum up is there a way to get your age back ? or workaround
@@SilverSSJyt if u start club at 22 and leave at 30, u will continue museum at 30. You can rerun the club but starting at the age u leave squats. You dont hv to start at squats all over again. So if u start club at 22 and u want to replay club, u will still start at 22. You cant minus ur age. Just go for lowest age gain evry level.
Should I play it with a controller or keyboard? I'm currently playing on keyboard and the keybinds are really stupid and hard to memorize. Never seen such dumb keybinds in my life to be honest.
I’ve hit game over a couple of different times now, but it doesn’t track how many times I’ve unlocked a skill. When I go to restart a run, the game doesn’t acknowledge that I bought a skill once already (for the total count to permanently unlock it). What am I doing wrong?
After you unlocked a skill, you need pay 5x amount of exp to unlock it permanently. It doesnt need to be same run, you can do it in 5 different runs. (Unlock skill-->Pay 5x cost of skill)
Best tips I have are try to get mobs in 1v1 fights by running away vaulting or luring a gang into a different place. The minute they surround you its goodnight. Learn to block/avoid s+space avoid the hit then counter with your hit. Shout FUCK at the screen ALOT it will helps.

Getting the key card for the Club from Sean’s disciple in the museum unlocks two of the stronger generic enemies to fight rather quickly as well.

Guys. Change your controller settings. The movement is regular the left stick like in every modern game. But the time to dodge multiple times can delay for a few second to press the button upwards or downwards. My suggestion is to change the movement to the D-PAD! Its a lot easier to dodge multiple times. Especially against Yang. I changed my setting after i almost gave up and realized it would be much more efficient against the endboss. Try this out guys.

For anyone who wants a good example of the tips about dying here's my experience. I ran level 1 and beat it around age 40, then ran 2 and died, retried 1 and got it down to age 23 with a ton of new upgrades. Basically as you learn, don't just run forward, look back and see where you can improve.

If you are low on funds its smarter to be frugal with your money and wait for the game to inevitably drop in price over time when you are more stable financially. @@Sketch2805Studios combat is frustrating af. The block sometimes work, sometimes doesn't. That is ridiculously annoying. I don't mind the difficulty, but it is *sooo* annoying when you block and enemies just ignore it. They set off chains of attacks, but your attacks they ignore and hit you, instantly breaking your combo.
Parry only doesn't work for me when my timing is off the more I play the less I miss

I can get to Sean's last stage with 0 deaths but his fire staff and cheap back step just wrecks me and I end up at the next level at age 50 odd :/
what I did was the first stage of sean (IDEK HOW U SURVIVED WITH 0 DEATHS) is just keep dodging, the second stage as well, I dodged most of the attacks without me even knowing what I was doing, run at times if u need to and rely on ur super or whatever the blue thing is called. *I just spam dodge, and when he does the 3 hit swing where he spins around thats the easy dodge move and he steps back for like 3 seconds

Memorization is my biggest problem.
I just simply cannot memorize all of the controls.
I'm really enjoying it but it is a tricky game button-wise. Great brain exercise on that note though. You have to be really focused to make sure you're hitting the right button / button combination at the right time. I re-mapped the dodge button to CIRCLE - could not wrap my head around R2 as dodge ha!
I tired to change it to circle but it kept saying unbound on the takedown commands …. Since it’s triangle and circle ….
Might have to switch cause that dodge not helping me on unblockables
The combat the level design the art style its all literally perfect but i really hate that you have to re run lower levels it just ruins the sense of progression

This game is fun but I wish the camera backed up a bit. I feel like the camera follows way too closely. At least it backs up a little during combat but man. Oh and that little dash thing you do every time you start running is kind of annoying.
By far this was one of the Hardest games i ever played in my Life. I finally got the hang of it now. You got to play it multiple times. Stragetize execute a plan. When ya combat skills. And now i finally think it's endable. The Club Scene was hell on wheels. Na-meen. God bless ya platform though. One Love.

this is really a grind game. it is meant for u to replay as u collect keycards and codes from other levels for the previous levels that can take u to shortcuts. once u hv all those keys then u can go for perfect runs where u need the most lives for the final boss
im confused okay lemme get this straight lets say i do club leave it at 22 and leave 30 can i rerun that level and try to leave at a lower life or do i have to go all the way back to the beginning of the game a lower life overall run sorry im a little slow on understanding this to sum up is there a way to get your age back ? or workaround
@@SilverSSJyt if u start club at 22 and leave at 30, u will continue museum at 30. You can rerun the club but starting at the age u leave squats. You dont hv to start at squats all over again. So if u start club at 22 and u want to replay club, u will still start at 22. You cant minus ur age. Just go for lowest age gain evry level.
Should I play it with a controller or keyboard? I'm currently playing on keyboard and the keybinds are really stupid and hard to memorize. Never seen such dumb keybinds in my life to be honest.

I’ve hit game over a couple of different times now, but it doesn’t track how many times I’ve unlocked a skill. When I go to restart a run, the game doesn’t acknowledge that I bought a skill once already (for the total count to permanently unlock it). What am I doing wrong?
After you unlocked a skill, you need pay 5x amount of exp to unlock it permanently. It doesnt need to be same run, you can do it in 5 different runs. (Unlock skill-->Pay 5x cost of skill)

Best tips I have are try to get mobs in 1v1 fights by running away vaulting or luring a gang into a different place. The minute they surround you its goodnight. Learn to block/avoid s+space avoid the hit then counter with your hit. Shout FUCK at the screen ALOT it will helps.
