    Dude! Buy the cheapest electric jigsaw and screw it to the tray. You won't find a better virator, that's 100%! And I encourage others to do the same! And the drill will become unusable very quickly, since the bearings are not designed for vibration loads.

      @primeribb55 Рік тому

      Sure, jigsaws are more adept at taking vibrations and constant work loads, but they gyrate way too fast. The slowest setting would shake that wood sifter frame into pieces within a few minutes, and sand would be flying everywhere.

      Use a Sawzall instead.

    Cool stuff, I fear that this method will likely not last long though.
    I would instead suggest the tumble method, take the screen and make a cylinder with an axel at the center.
    Have that rotate and put the whole thing at a slight angle.

      yeah, it's going to shake itself apart in no time.... and really it should be much bigger to be worth the time and effort to make it in the first place. Nice concept though.

    Very cool. They use a really stout version of a machine like this in oil and gas. It's called a shale skaker. It separates aggregates from drilling fluid.

    The screens can be damaged over time by the aggregate in the sand. You should modify the design to provide for removable screens so they can be replaced periodically.

      Don’t worry about that. It’ll fall apart long before the screen wears out.

    Опоры для решетки можно и лучше сделать из полосок фанеры 8-10мм. Тогда не нужны никакие петли и шарниры, фанера будет пружинить как рессора.

      Оптимально и проверено на действующем грохоте - подвеска сит на полосках резины к раме, на грохоте установлен эксцентрик, привод которого осуществляется через отрезок жесткого РВД от асинхронного двигателя. Никаких шарниров, всего пара подшипников на валу эксцентрика.
      Отсеивал так грунт для аквариумов на 3 фракции - 3-5мм, 6-8мм и 9-12мм, песок и гравий крупнее шли в отсев.

    That's nice and all, but why would you want to do this with your soil?

    • @primeribb55
      @primeribb55 Рік тому +1

      I wondered the same, but there must be a reason. Maybe the soil is depleted and unusable for farming. Maybe to make gravel for one project and sand for another. Also, I have a huge sandbox for the kids, and that needs to be sifted occasionally, so this would work great for that! I do like the other comments saying to make a cylinder or to use a jigsaw instead. All nifty ideas for separating! I just hope people don't separate fertile soil if they can help it! With the world population increasing, soil is becoming more valuable.
