We, as Ham Operators, are Classified as Amateurs because we can not, under penalty of law, to be compensated or renumerated in any way shape or form for what we do as Radio Operators on our awarded and designated frequencies, earned through the testing Classes (2,3,4 or Technician, General, Extra) that are regulated by the Federal Government by way of the FCC.
