I did not participate this year, but have been involved in many of them before. Wish you could’ve talked a little bit more about the logging program you were using? I have an old radio and I don’t really understand the way the new radios work with different types of logging programs? other than that. Excellent video. Thanks for taking the time to make this video👍👍👍🇨🇱😎 73s. Good luck.W5PN
Thanks for watching! I use the Ham Radio Deluxe logging software. HRD interfaces nicely with the rig and it brings the frequency and mode in right from the radio.
I don't contest. No interest. Stupid Question: Why does *everyone* get a 59 signal report? EA8RM took multiple calls, but he got a 59 also. "I'm not a heavy contester. Don't look to win any awards." LOL, but 3 minutes after the contest opens you're slamming the logbook with QSOs like a crazed weasel on amphetamines.
Most contests have a mandatory exchange, in this contest its 59 and the zone - so I give out 59 40. There is no real signal report given in a contest. it is what it is. Other contests have different exchanges like serial numbers, age, qth codes, oblast, states... but I think they all give a pseudo/default 59/599 signal report.

Yes 10 is coming alive! That’s why I got on for the contest to pick up a few new countries on 10. It’s alot of fun when it opens!
I contest a lot and hear so many familiar calls here.
Yup! All the popular contest station calls appear on the CQWW weekend!
40m was chaos :p

Nice video, Chris. Looked like you were using N1MM, but what was that black digital clock on your screen? Is that part of N1MM or an add-on?
That’s built in to the HRD logger. Definitely handy to have up all the time. Thanks for watching!!
Contest time, the best time to close down the radio.

Hair so good, your wife wishes she had it!

Yup. Working new countries on new bands.
In the moment you understand what the other station is sending he/she is 59(9).

Oh.
Wait, are you joking?
@@R50_J0 Nope! It's all subjective anyway.
