Hello, I'm Lea, I'm a full time home educating mama to Elfie, working from home in a rural creative cottage industry. I'm a textile artist, and love heritage crafts, and history of crafts, and I'm passionate about helping to keep the old skills alive and growing.
Me and Elfie spend lots of time crafting together, we spin yarns & art yarns, weave on rigid heddle looms & tapestry looms (& I'm just setting up new work on a table loom) Elfie also tablet weaves on a backstrap loom. we sew, knit, crochet, paint, print, make jewellery, do pottery, wet felting, & needle felting, & I whittle wood, & have started learning basketry.
I started this channel to share our arts, crafts, vlogs, natural living, and I'm neurodiverse so I also share my videos about autism / aspergers and adhd as an adult female, to hopefully help other autistic people, and raise awareness, acceptance and self esteem.

Carding is hard work. I’ve done it with flax at a local historic house, in central New Jersey as part of a house tour.
It is, very labour intensive.
It always makes me smile when the lambs/sheep jump on their pogo legs.😂. TeresaSue

What a lovely episode. Your sheep are so friendly: were they hand reared or is it simply because you spend alot of time with them? Great to see your gardening and all those self-seeded plants! I am going to take a look at your etsy shop. x

They weren't hand reared, but they are used to coming to the feed bucket so that I can move them from place to place when I need to because I don't want to have a sheep dog, and I spend time in the field together with them. Thank you, I'm so pleased with how many plants self seeded this year 🌿🌷🌸💗

Really enjoy seeing your family’s “ slice of life”. Reminds me lots of raising my family 30 years ago in New Mexico and New Hampshire. I really love the loom that your daughter is using Great heddle set up. I had a 40 inch jack loom foot peddled. And also carded and spun on my Ashford spinning wheel. It was a nice time in life with lots of opportunities for communicating with my homeschool children. financial reversals required that I sell both wheel and loom, but the memories are woven throughout my life. I really enjoyed seeing your families experience and I’ll look forward to seeing more, very cute Lambies frolicking.🙆🏼♀️❄️💠

Hallo Lea, ich bin neu auf Deinen Kanal und ich finde Deine Video sehr schoen. Aber ich habe ein kleines Problem mit den Videos. Ich bin deutsche und spreche nur ein wenig englisch. Daher muss ich einen Uebersetzer haben. Der Uebersetzer laeuft sehr schnell, das man kaum es lesen kann. Durch das schnelle lesen, kann man sich nicht in Ruhe das Video anschauen. Vielleicht kann man es etwas anders einstellen. Um das Video zu geniessen. Vielen Dank. Lg
Hi, thanks. I don't know much about computers and things like that, but I will ask my husband to have a look at it. Have you tried adjusting the speed of the video? That would probably work the best, you can adjust the speed from the settings icon, it's on the video screen in the same line as the pause/play/full screen etc. I think that would work well.

I think what you call purslane in Wales is chickweed in US????
The chickweed here is a different plant. This one is a winter purslane, and we have common purslane in the UK too with a different shape leaf to this winter purslane, both of them have succulent leaves.
Yes, our purslane is a succulent and chickweed and purslane are very nutritious

Does your Daughter ever get her hair caught in the loom ?? Just wondering
No it's never got caught in anything, she has to go around the side of the loom to turn the clickers when she moves the weaving along.
