David Coverdale - Interviews (1985)

These are couple of rare ones that i have in my collection. Both of them were recorded in the same period when Whitesnake were just a four piece band.
The first interview was recorded in Sweden for a show called "Metalljournalem", date: 12.05.1985.
And the second one was recorded in Los Angeles, and was shown on UK's music show called "The Tube", date: 13.12.1985.

Marco Montandon And Mel Galley who wrote the majority of songs on there best album Slide it in.And when Sykes accidently broke his arm and Mel couldnt play anymore the sound got way thinner then when Sykes/Galley played together the sound was huge!So after Sykes took over as the only guitar player for a short while David didnt like the sound and after a while he went back to the 2 guitarist"set up"which today is still the Whitesnake sound.

Thanks for sharing this - I recorded the second part when it was first broadcast. I spent months being excited waiting for the 'new sound' and remember being incredibly disappointed when the whole lineup was replaced (...again) once '1987' was finally released. Great memories !

Was he actually referring to John Lord as a session guy who had to hide behind a curtain? I'm a huge Whitesnake fan but it does appear that Coverdale often doesn't have respect for his bandmates.
