- To commemorate the sad passing of Helen in September 2020 here is a 38 minute programme edited to 16:9 format for TV screen viewing. Cropping results in some loss in definition but retains the sound of that wonderful voice. The complete clips are all on UA-cam and for the bulk of them I must acknowledge the uploader "Reddy Rocks the 70's" and others listed in the end credits.
Helen was a force in the women's movement which adopted her composition "I Am Woman" early on. The duet featured here with Jane Fonda features songs written or co-written by women.
I never got to see her and I regret not seeing her. Watching this video shows me how talented she was how she did all these moves and not mess up. RIP Helen Reddy you were a star,

What a Great Talent! This lady could really sing. The 70's was a good time to be a young lady starting out and with Helen's Anthem" I'am Woman" iT really made the 70's an Era to be remembered and Cherished..
That was great, such a talented, lovely lady. What a voice! Have enjoyed listening to her for over 50 years. One of the very few singers that can move me to tears, bless her! Greatly missed!

Thank you for sharing this wonderful video in fact I was a bit shaken to learnt the passing of this superstar whom I grew up listening to her songs. And this video has clips that I had never seen before it is really a treat. The entire video just bring back many fond memories of Helen.

I will never shy away from a conversation about Helen Reddy. Be it singer, hypnotherapist, Vaudeville brat, historian or young, single mother on the fly... she lived a life that even the greatest fiction writers could never make up.. and she did it all through the premise of a perfect storm that most any of us could never even conceive a method of.

A wonderful voice that enriched so many lives! The songs of Helen Reddy's legacy need to last for all of time.

@@lorettacadman8466 Thanks for your reply, Loretta! In my high school days, I would track every one of Helen Reddy's hit songs as they would climb the Billboard Magazine Charts. Her movie songs are probably my favorites, including "Candle On The Water," "Never Say Goodbye" and "You're The One."
She was such a beautiful genuine person. Nobody can begin to fill her shoes. Her voice was like an Angel! I have always admired her!

Same here; every time I hear "You and me against the world" I think of my own daughter when she was still small and it felt like me and her against the world and all the while, God was and still is on our side..it's so touching it makes me want to cry over and over but happy tears. I miss her but one day, because Heaven is our real home, we will all be like a big family with the Lord. Amen.
Helen was truly a star, she sang effortlessly, several number 1 hits, a truly gifted singer. She had an absolutely beautiful voice. You know when a singer is truly gifted when they can sing live and still sound great, rest well Helen, you're loved by millions.

Helen Reddy was part of my childhood... i used to sing her songs all the time growing up. No one else since has a voice like hers (or Karen Carpenter's, who I also love) and she kept her majestic voice even into her late years. I miss you, Helen.
Also Judith Durham. 3 exceptionally wonderful female vocalists.
Me also. And I am now 71. I loved her voice & especially 'I am WOMAN'' We are losing all our Aussie Icons " Now Judith & Olivia. . It is just sad.

Helen Reddy will always hold a special place in my heart. I saw her in concert 23 times in different cities and was always excited to see her perform. She always had that clear rhythm to her great voice. A strong talented and intelligent woman!!

Helen Reddy was a legend, a true one of a kind. What I loved most about the 70's is they all had their own voice and style. my all-time favorite of hers was Delta Dawn. I'll add I Am Woman, Leave Me Alone (Ruby Reddress) and You're My World.

I was like 12 when The Beatles broke up in 1970. Nothing ever hit me as hard as that until Karen Carpenter died in the early 80s, and when I heard Helen Reddy passed away a few years ago. Angie Baby is one of ‘those songs’ of my childhood. Always takes me there. BBC Radio 2… didn’t really understand it as a young boy but loved her voice. Love everything about it now. Great song/singer.
"You and me against the world" and "I am woman" helped me the most through the hard times, when I was still a single mother. All of my children are adults now and have children of their own, but they still remember listening to Helen Reddy and me singing together with her when turning on the turn table. And I still remember that one scratch in the beginning of "I don't know how to love him", which was one of the songs from my youth, when "Jesus Christ Superstar" made teens fall in love and wanted to be Maria Magdalena. :-)

Lucky daughter, and Yes, she kept her incredible impeccable voice well up there after we expect changes...so thankful I had the pleasure of her voice to pattern my childhood of REAL vocal talent.

My favorite female singers of all time are Karen Carpenter, Whitney and Celine Dion. After watching the Netflix show on Helen and viewing subsequent YT videos I have absolutely fallin in love with Helen Reddy. I loved her songs as she was such an inspiration in the 80’s, my wheel house as I was in my 20’s. She is in now in my top 5

...The dancing sketch was AMAZING!! ...it was for her 1979 TV Special, but that HAD to take DAYS of training to do!! ...Helen clearly showed she can adapt to the talents needed for Showbiz-worthy perfromances....The 'nerd' scene (15:39) was VERY intricate! ...a 70's Legend, gone before her time... (RIP)
