Because parts don’t exist for the application they need. It’s easier to buy something that’s nearly there and modify it as it saves time over building from scratch.
Fabricating parts isn't a big deal at the Paintshop but the problem is educating the clients at times. When clients find parts that are "supposed to bolt on" and then KC calls them to tell them he has to make something then it's all about saving money on an hourly rate of $105 per person.
Thanks for asking I've been wanting to put together a Q&A episode for KC. See if he has any good stories to share as well from his time working on the show. I know he has shown me wild footage that's never going to see the day of light so i'm sure there are some stories he can dig up.
I get that you are a Master of your craft, but sometimes a person can only nitpick so much. It ends up being counter productive or a waste of time, $, and resources.
Cars, dogs, people .. truth !
I remember on the show when KC painted at his house and the cars got delivered to Ass Monkey. It's crazy to see where he's at now.
KC, you are the absolute GOAT in the painting biz, I am truly impressed as a non body man, at your ability to do ANYTHING….. Keep it up brother!

No one I've seen, works harder or had this man's skills.

Good job on the Chevelle KC. In the earlier video, you could see the color change from the door to the quarter when parked outside.

Not everyone has the tools to fabricate everything they need. Tools being knowledge and physical tools.

Don’t lower the Big 10 truck. It’s perfect and a survivor. Plenty of other trucks to modify. It’s to perfect in stock original form.
Can we please get merch?
Absolutely!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
How Did KC Get Into Painting & Body Work?

ADHD gang!
I like to see a trend of a clean factory restoration instead of the usual ls swapped, patina paint job ( boring).
