Have you had to go on a PICC Line, to be fed/medicated? I put on crazy weight, felt like superman, haha.
They told me in 2012 I had less than 2 months to live, That was in Pa. Told me go home make peace with myself/family.
So, I left the state and went to Balto. Md. Was in ER waiting room Vomiting into pan, looking like a sick stick-man, Then, I got a 60 second CT scan and was being rolled back to waiting room when a team of DR and Nurses came running down hallway yelling my last name. I had ballooning in 3 places, couple fistulas, narrowing, Malnutrition, Proctitis, etc. They hooked me up to so much, lines everywhere. (I can not stand the tube in the nose/belly deal, no fun).
Was taken straight to basement down some hallways to the tunnels brought to different hospital, up to fifth floor, then transferred to another. Where the Picc line was installed, My Dr/Surgeon paid for my Picc Line/meds, feedings out of her pocket because she wanted to make sure I lived. The Dr said, she was going to make sure I got the right treatments, surgeries that she did not trust anyone else to take care me. Blew me away. The Dr sent me home to heal up for surgery after 34 days of intense treatments with the PICC Line still in, for another 90 days of feedings so I would live through surgery. She also paid for all the supplies, nurses to come out take care of the Line when needed. If not for her I would have passed 11 years ago. Nobody cared about me, Still to this day I am by myself. Lol. (Every woman I was with before t did not want to deal with my Crohn's/Surgeries). It would be nice meet someone with Crohn's just to talk too, definitely be nice to have someone who can relate. I'm sure many would agree, Severe Crohn's Disease SUCKS... Well this is why I have lived full time RV life for years now. We have to learn to enjoy life, learn to love our-selves. I have treated myself to a Florida RV Resort lately. Yeah. Living the vacation life HAHA. It's Not For Everybody, :- ) Either is Crohn's...

Oh wow! Yes it can be hard sometimes living with IBD. I have had a picc line several times when I’ve been hospitalized. A few times they gave me TPN while I was NPO because of how sick I was. Mostly I get the picc line because my veins are small and like to roll and I bruise easily so regular IVs don’t last long. So mostly the picc line is for me to get fluids and medicine. I’ve only had it in when I’ve been hospitalized.

Hope this surgery is the last you will need! I have had a J pouch for 20 years, I tell my GI Dr. my ultimate goal is to sleep through the night and not have to get up to go to the bathroom! Best wishes.

Thank you! Yes definitely getting sleep and not having to get up at night is a huge win! That’s awesome that you’ve had your j-pouch for 20 years! I hope everything is going well with it.

I am set to start this whole process on Monday. (Removal of the colon) Would you say the process is better than having ulcerative colitis in hindsight. Was all the surgery and pain worth it ?

Crohn's you have disease from lips to Anus, and affects every system in the body. With Ulcerative Colitis its large bowel/anus. They Can do surgery, have the large removed, and with some adjustment in life you can return to pretty normal life.

I hope your surgery goes well! Yes, I’d do it all over again knowing everything I know now. Recovery can be tough but it’s honestly so much better than when I had my colon.

I am praying for you. Let this be last surgery for life. I have done the surgeries, every medication out there. I have had every test you can think of, Lol. I am so tried of the medications, Dr's, needles, going to office and have surgeon cut my belly open in his office without pain killers repeatedly for infection under the healed surgery scar deep inside, because he forgot to shorten the sutures when closing me up. They hurt so much, stabbing me when I moved. They would make there way through the skin some were 5-6 inches when pulled on and cut outside the belly, lol. The infections were Nightmare fuel. Why did he not use staples? Well Hope everything heals amazingly for you and you Slow that gut down but not plug it up, if you know what I mean. Haha.

The area was a little painful until it healed. Mainly sitting I kind of sat more on my side and it burned when I went to the bathroom. Once the area was healed though no pain at all!
