Im in Canada...laser surgery is not even an option ...😔where i live its...by the knife or nothing...i guess we are still in the dark ages here....i wish surgeons would update their skills...

I live in the Rural US, and I feel your pain. We don’t have it here, either. But I used to live in Southern California, near where Dr. Chung is, and sometimes I’m sorry I left.
It's available in Canada in major cities, but like the US it's not covered under a provincial plan; you'd need to pay for LHP. Many patients travel from rural locations to those cities for consults, and procedures if they are considered suitable candidates for it.

Hello Doctor! Your videos helped me a lot emotionally & physically! I ve had two hems.banded a month ago, and i could say i tam 95 pct.back to my old self😃. I know that there is a possibility for them coming back and planning to deal with them with "flavonoids" like diosmin, rutin, gingko, colinnsonia root, or anything that aids and help varicose vein which a hemorrhoid is. I have tried "daflon" and helped me stave off surgery for my grade 3s hems. What it did was calm down the hems and made them a good fit for rubber band ligation. Do you have any videos dealing with flavonoids? Maybe i just missed it but i think i have watched all your videos and couldn't find one.
Hi Dr Chung, Thank you for your videos. Do you have to go under general anaesthetic? I've been suffering with a fissure for over 20 years so I am thinking about going for laser for this. I know your videos mention not making a wound bigger for fissure so I am not sure what to do. Equally really don't want to continue with things the way they are. Hi Dr Chung. My friend jst finished fistula laser surgery a month ago, she said the doctor/colorectal told her laser sealed the inside hole and outside hole remain an open wound and will heal eventually.
She was being placed a seton for drainage 2 weeks before surgery.
Is this the procedure?
I began to have hemorrhoids after I gave birth. (external) It never went back even just once. It doesn't hurt though. Sometimes I thought maybe there was a mistake in the way the doctor stitched the cut when I gave birth. What to do?? So embarrassing . huhu..

What did you see? Fissures or hemorrhoids?
Doctors are usually using laser for fissure to cut muscle (LIS) or burn the cut (fissurectomy). I have differing opinions on how to treat fissures and I don't think laser is the right answer.
I have been suffering from fissure post delivery from past 3 months. Tried everything along with diet changes and Rectiv is the one that helped me with spasm pain. But not completely it was come back again. So after all that I have used pranicura and homeopathy medication and just in 7 days it helped me and i dont have any pain or burning now. Not sure how it healed but yes i see relief now. I am still following diet and having laxatives just be cautious for some more days.

I have had chronic fatigue and fibro for 20 years - I have finally started to get improvement and two days of sitting up rather than lying down and now I have Hemorrhoid pain and swelling and can't sit on my butt :( I have jad them since my first child was born 31 years ago - why can't you get rid of them once you have them ? I have never had pain from them before in 31 years. What is the pain treatment protocol after LHP please ? What pain meds and how long ? There are many meds I cannot tolerate. TY.

I would greatly appreciate a reply even though I appreciate your a busy man.
I have recently got over a fissure according to my doctor. It took me around 3 months of Rectogesic with Lactulose. I had the fissure for around a year and a half before that and it was extremely painful after every bowel movement. My doctor told me around 2 weeks ago that I had a ‘full scar of the fissure now’. Subsequently stopped rectogesic but was told to ‘continue Lactulose for the foreseeable future’ however, I have a terrible itch at times and tonight im dealing with a horrible feeling of heaviness for the first time in ages. I don’t feel like my fissure has reopened but I don’t feel great in my anus at all. Is this feeling going to subside or at I going to be like this forever? I’ve been a long time follower of yours and would really respect your opinion.
Hi everyone 👋 have a question/concerns about bleeding hemorrhoids. Around 4 months ago I got a colonoscopy done because there was some little bleeding and to play it safe, I decided sure why not. The results weren't bad at all, just diverticulosis and internal hemorrhoids. So the gastroenterologist told me to just add more fiber to my diet oh and my primary care doctor same thing.
Its been now close to 5 months now and I keep bleeding and way more than at the beginning. So I went to see my gastroenterologist again like around 10 weeks ago and same thing, just to add more fiber as well as my primary doctor. Well like a week ago I ended up on the ER and had to receive a blood transfusion. My hemoglobin levels were very low, no wonder because I started feeling extremely weird for like two weeks prior to the ER. Supposedly my hemoglobin levels should be around 14 to 12 and when I ended up on the ER my hemoglobin level was 6.1
Any suggestions? You you guys think I need surgery to remove the hemorrhoids or should I keep making changes to my diet and adding more fiber to my diet?
Since my ER visit, the bleeding has subside. I've done a lot of changes to my diet and added fiber and a probiotic. Also, if I decide to have surgery should I go with the surgeon my gastroenterologist recommended or a proctologist?
Please any suggestions will be much appreciated

Dr I really need your consultation here cuz this is concerning me. I’ve done 2 hemorrhoidectomy surgeries the past four years, my last one was in 2022 I believe and since then I’ve been experiencing itching and pain after a bowel movement(not every bowel movement but frequent ones), my doctor suggested to use ointment or creams for a course of 4 to 5 days, I’ve never committed to that fully if I’m being honest, as soon as it got better and didn’t itch, I immediately dropped the ointment and never continue the course.
My question is, is it okay to use these ointments and creams to THIS day? Do they have “side effects”? Or is it okay to use them regularly?
I undergone laser for hemorrhoids, the first week post surgery went very well. On tenth day I had so much bleeding, needed to go to the surgeon to tampon it up. Now the bleeding decreased although still some drainage is going down. So, for me it wasn't that simple as it has been advertised, things started to get out of hand on the second week. I wonder what next week is gonna go. Do you have any clue of why it went like that for me?

Please let us know that how to know that our fistulectomy wound is healing correctly. Because sometimes it can be slow progress. So, it makes us worry.
I had a superficial fistulotomy performed. Very big wound, been doing sitz baths and showering after bowel movements. Been able to keep the BM soft with colace and also miralax. just today i noticed some blood under the scarring after a BM., like a hemotoma or wound dehiscence just at the edge of the wound. is that something to be conscerned about or is it normal for a healing wound post op?

Trigger WARNING: It's hard to find any exact causes of hemorrhoids but I know one. I can actually cause what I call an explosion but is more aptly termed an outbreak. Wanna know what it is? Getting turned on sexually. If I get any type of tingling in my nether regions, I'm doomed and down for the count for the next two weeks . The feeling is similar to when your face turns red from being embarrassed or feeling flushed, but its when the feeling is down below. That feeling is often preorgasm, even if I don't have one. But postorgasm if it's intense can also be the cause. Every time the feeling is at a level of being significantly turned on, I suffer. This has been going on for years and there's nothing I can do about it except to not get turned on lol. There you have it! I bet if you start documenting your outbreaks, you'll be able to pin several of them down to sexual excitement. Aren't you glad I told you? Now if the doc could simply laser them all away....wouldn't that be nice 🙃
