In case anyone's here looking for an update: They sued the hospital and got a nearly $2m settlement. They also hired investigators who were able to find their actual biological daughter had been taken into foster care a couple of years ago. The last update says that they are making the application for adoption (weird that you have to do that for your own biological child but it guess I makes sense in this situation) and are going to keep both children and bring them up as sisters. They're also using the settlement money in order to move to a better area with decent schools. Honestly sounds like the best possible outcome for everyone involved.
Holy shit, imagine finding out the child you've raised not only isn't yours, but that your biological daughter got put into foster care and was obviously in a situation with strangers that weren't fit to raise a baby. Wow....I'm glad they're hopefully getting their daughter back and that things work out for them. And good on them for getting that settlement, they deserve it. The hospital I gave birth at immediately put an alarmed bracelet on my son's leg that matched his dad and I's bracelet. I can't imagine bringing home the wrong baby. They were so meticulous about it and now that I've read this story I'm so grateful they were. Holy shit....
I’m really glad they’re going to raise both kids, but god it must be heartbreaking to know that your baby was in a bad enough situation to be put in foster care when they should have been with you the whole time
cheers for commenting this
In some ways this was positive as it meant a child that otherwise would’ve been trapped in the care system got to be raised by a loving family and both children ultimately got to grow up in a loving home
Love how he so casually dismissed the 'Switched at birth' as soap opera nonsense and immediately was proven wrong.
Truth is stranger than fiction as they say.
My mom was almost switched at the hospital. The reason it was resolved quickly was because they gave a boy baby to my grandparents when they knew they had a girl. I've thought before about how crazy it is that it's possible to just get the wrong kid from the hospital
Team taksies backsies seems insane to me. Completely normal till like 3 but after that it just keepsies and shutsies the fuck upsies.
That is indeed insane. Only correct option is to go Girlfriend, Girlfriend (anime) and have the 2 children marry eachother
@@bs0023 or go the timeshare route
When I was 5 I cried because my mom got her hair cut and I thought it was a different person, taksies backsies is totally passable.
@@bs0023 it's a couple of cuckoos. Girlfriend, Girlfriend is the guy too spineless to reject a girl after he finally got with his childhood friend
Yeah bloodrelation is such a stupid concept anyways. Taksies backsies implies that an adopted child could never be as accepted or valued as a biological child which is obviously not true.
anyone saying tradsies backsies hasn't had a kid
Yes paternity tests do the thing. It is more thorough than like 23 and me.
Also his mocking of the idea was hilarious knowing the story. Eye color is 100% reason to be sus of not being the father
My mom (F43) asked me (M13) to wash the dishes (13) so I (M13) chucked my controller (Xbox) (45 mph) into her forehead and she (F43) died (from impact). AITA?
+2
NTA. She should have know no to ask you to wash the dishes at that point in time
holy hell im crying lauhging i dont know why this got me so good but +2
Stanz 'taksies backsies' stance is nuts when the kids are already 5 years old
Me and my gf were so afraid of this happening, we didn’t let him leave the room in the hospital. I just stayed up with him while she rested. It happens more often then people know of
My gf had it happen to a co worker, they brought her a white baby and she was like “I’m Mexican” 😂 I didn’t even want to risk it
@@Elanic_ did you reply to your own comment? Why not just edit it? Also there's a pretty easy solution, just draw a big X on the baby's head with a sharpie when it comes out.
@@coachmcguirk6297 Idk why I do these things. I genuinely don’t even remember writing this..
@@Elanic_ don't worry, I do that sometimes too and idk why lol the hospital I went to was very meticulous about having all of the correct id on my son, me and his father so I wasn't worried. They confirmed all the numbers on every bracelet with us to show us they were all the same. (and my son had an alarm on his ankle that would go off if someone took him in the elevator which was nice to know he wouldn't be snatched either lol) they didn't cut the alarm bracelet off until he was in his car seat and we were carrying him out and they checked all the numbers then too. All in all, 10/10 experience aside from the whole "having to push a human out of me" thing lol
@@_Cambria_ Yeah that’s definitely the worse part. But I just watched..
If eyes followed a simple recessive dominant trait inheritance it would be impossible for two blue eyed parents to have a brown eyed child. However because it’s slightly more complicated than this it is physically possible to have a child that is brown eyed but it is virtually impossible.
7:30 boy you weren't kidding when you said this would sound insane
I cannot speak to all hospitals, but the hospitals we used for our three children (one is Massachusetts and one in Texas) the baby and mom are tagged with wrist/ankle bracelets. Those tags have very specific identifying information that the nurses/doctors have to very carefully check anytime they come into the room, or at least that is what happened to us. I think it would be very hard nowadays for that to happen unless gross negligence by nurses/doctors.
Crazy story, great video. Love you Stanz!
this happens at hospitals far too often:
"Out of 4 million total births, about 28,000 babies get switched ever year. Overall this translates to about 1 mistake per every 1,000 baby transfers"

I've been so anxious all day and when I saw that stanz had posted, it made me so happy❤
I went to the gamestop on the way to the hospital to make sure I could switch all the babies at birth. They were all playing Mario oddessey right out of the womb.
Because blue eyes are recessive and brown eyes are dominant, it is physically impossible for either parent to have alleles for brown eyes and they wouldn’t be able to pass down genes for brown eyes
Edit: I was wrong, this is what I found
Researchers used to think that eye color was determined by a single gene and followed a simple inheritance pattern in which brown eyes were dominant to blue eyes. Under this model, it was believed that parents who both had blue eyes could not have a child with brown eyes. However, later studies showed that this model was too simplistic. Although it is uncommon, parents with blue eyes can have children with brown eyes. The inheritance of eye color is more complex than originally suspected because multiple genes are involved. While a child’s eye color can often be predicted by the eye colors of his or her parents and other relatives, genetic variations sometimes produce unexpected results.
Haven’t finished video so stanz may have happened upon the same article
Eye colour isn't monogenic so it's not that simple
@@ImGaryOak made an edit, thanks for your input
The story is much more spicy than an article tbf lol
@@sirwaltz4208 I got busy and had to stop to do something before I got to the birthswap part, insane story
Stanz is insane with tacksies backsies.
Bro the Punnet squares 💀
I love the duality of stanz
Like someone suggests the kid got swapped at birth
Stanz: no that’s ridiculous, what is this a soap opera?
Also Stanz: now I bet the guy cheated, they all cheated.
Also not fun fact, kids getting swapped at birth in hospitals is surprisingly not as uncommon as you’d think.
I think this is the plot for Fire Emblem Fates
There is literally a lifetime show with the same plot lmao
Oh my god what’s the song that’s playing in the intro, haven’t heard it in forever
Bro imagine the biological kid is just better and the other parents don't want their own kid
"just better" LMFAOOO. They get to the hospital and the other parents just say "my baby better + L + ratio"
Lul
jesus christ idk what i was expecting but it wasn't this
I'm surprised chat didn't pick on Stanz for 5:28. I don't think there was any confusion about her being the real mom (at that point at least.) LOL
Lmao I jumped at this haha
It's probably more common than it seems, most people don't ever get tested for this type of thing
Can i just say how crazy it would be to takesies backsies
This is crazy, i witnessed my son be born not all babies look alike I'd recognise his cheeky mug anywhere. Shit I didn't let him out my sight for a week at least.
This does not mean i trust the kid is mine he's 4 and I'm pretty sure he is the spawn of Satan now.
Should have called the number on the info page and asked what we NEED to know
i immediately thought it would be a chimera case because DNA tests fuck shit up if you have chimerism. was hoping for that ending haha.
imagine you find out the parents of your biological child are terrible and you have to choose to leave your biological child with them or give them the kid youve been raising for 5 years, jesus
What's the song used in the intro?
Went and looked at op update to see the end of the story but a quick look at the comment under made it clear that the whole thing was fake.
Here is a paste of some of the commentors argument (for a summary of the update someone already posted it here so...):
Ok...... you had me until this last update. There's no way this is true for a multitude of reasons, only some of which I'll list below:
1 - Foster care adoptions don't work that way, they take a long time and people are reccomended to foster the child before adopting as well as take training to handle any emotional issues, since the state don't do takebacks.
2- So the girl wasn't already with a foster family? She was just hanging out in a state closet somewhere?
3- How exactly would you have found this chid so quickly, especially given that she would now no longer be with the parents?
4- The state discovered the child was not biologically theirs and just.... left it? Didn't wonder if she was kidnapped or trafficked?
5- The hospital found out they gave you the wrong baby and just said "OK cool, just keep her"?
6- It doesn't matter if the hospital wanted to pay you to make this all go away, they have oversight and ethics committees that would wonder where that 2 mil went and aren't going to accept "hush money".
Sad to see the whole thing was fake but i guess it made a cool video
SHE IS 5 YEARS OLD! You are insane lol

Trading the kids is insane. That will fuck up the kids and the parents
Stanz thinking that is actually weird af
It’s crazy this video casually starts out by describing the second coming of Jesus Christ.

What does this dude even *mean*? Sure, the decent thing is to ask permission, but it's *Reddit*. It's public, and anyone can see that information, hell, her husband could've stumbled on it without the UA-cam video.
...both of my parents had brown eyes. i have blue eyes. need a paternity test now oops
Did the Dad let the Mom post on his account about her side of the story..? Hmm
Calling it now when him and Rochelle have a baby it’ll be switched and he’ll find out when it’s like 7 and he’s already stopped streaming so none of us will know
Hey, there was an update about the wife post today. People are saying that the story is fake though so :/
Am I insane or did he already cover this story in another video
You're insane
He did
I'm insane
I think on the matter of the kid not being theirs, you should find the biological family and make sure to spend a ton of time together as families when the kids grow up then have the kids decide later on who they want to be with
Get iiiit
i dont think u have to ask for permission on using a reddit post xD its already for free on the internet, if u dont want things to get out, just dont post them lmao
follow up?
People are pretending like switch ups at hospitals happen by accident but if they where as smart as I am and watched rick and morty they would realise that they put the children into pods let them spin around while the doctors and nurses drink booze and then send one of the children home with the sci-fi space parents..
Let's go! Starting with infidelity. Oh boy
NA maternity wards lul
my brother has a different eye colour to myself and our parents, i think sometimes it just like. skips a generation or something lmao
Hehe i was the 666th like😈😈😈
What if she cheated but lied on Reddit?
Fakest story ever
Stanz I love you brother but your reading comprehension is at a 4th grade level hear
If your take is anything to do with tracking down their biological child with an intention other than just visiting amd having a talk with the parents(and thats it) then you are insane and wrong. If another family has raised their child for 5 years, then its theirs and their kid is yours. You could and should never actually switch or raise them together, thats just wierd and unnecessary
actually no, 2 blue eyed people have a zero % chance of having a brown eyed kid bc blue is the recessive trait. 2 brown eyed people have a 0, 25, or 50% chance of having a blue eyed kid depending on if 0, 1 or both parents had a recessive blue gene, but there is absolutely 0 chance 2 blue eyed people had a brown eyed child, one parent must have brown eyes inherently
