So... I found this video on the mountain today while trying to figure out how to get our dog down an unexpected descent. He had a regular harness, but doing the bunny ears with a sling around his back legs was secure and exactly what was needed to get him safely down the ledge. Thanks for making this.
Really appreciate this. I'm a hiker and my route is 800km along a 200 foot drop climbing ridge, escarpment. I want something for an emergency situation. This video is perfect.
Great content. You might be able to integrate some sticks into the "harness". I believe commercial harnesses have a stiff support to prevent the back from sagging.
@@BetaClimbers The one I've seen was a tactical harness by singing rock. You could also check out jump harnesses, I don't know if there is a difference there.
My Daughter is 9 and loves your "Climbing Fails". We searched but cannot find the doggie that was disliking your whippet harness video! Could you add the link here? Thanks!
This is the dog (our whippet whippy) clip from that video the actual dog that was Growling was a fans dog. He sent me a clip of his dog growling while he was watching me on his TV 🤣
Thanks for this video. I have an Australian Cattle Dog, and do a lot of hiking with him. Was looking for an emergency harness like this, thinking if anything happened to him that I would have to carry him home. So I would adapt a harness like this for carrying the dog.
Hi, Thanks for this educational video. I would hike the Dolomites in Italy with my two dogs. I would use you'r webbing strategy. Could i contact you for more information about this? Thanks Daniel

raphael beinhauer yeah that does make sense almost like the bar below the hook they use with cranes to spread the load. 👍🏻

Just shared on the Colorado 14er and Colorado Summit Team Facebook page. I remembered someone asked about a week ago for advice like this.

Whippy should get an Oscar
I really hope that the 11 people who disliked the video did it by accident, this is excellent information.
