      This is a traditional sweet of konkani christians in coastal area. In mangalore also its done using comb, we dont use the form. Thanks for the video 😊

    I tried this receipe however the kulkul became hard what cud be the reason?

      I guess u fried in longer in hot oil ....flame should b medium ...n remove it while slightly golden...because wen cooled it gets darker color

      Perhaps ur ingredients r not proportionate ....if it happens try to increase d heat n remove the froth

      you can prepare it at home if it is not available. I wouldn't suggest any other substitute to coconut milk becasue it turns out best with it

      Skavina it's for 1 kg all purpose flour so u can reduce the ingredients proportionately ok ....no problem

      Yes the taste does differ, it's better with the coconut milk because that's how it is traditionally made

      The quantity is just sufficient enough, but depending on your taste you can increase the quantity, some people dip it in a sugar syrup as a coating, so u have that option as well

    Today I tried this recipe. Kulkuls are bcum tasty. But I have a problem in deep frying..I kept the flame on medium and when I put my palm above d oil I felt it hot so I put the kulkuls for frying and reduced the flame and kept on stirring but then it became dark brown and soft. No crunchiness. Can u suggest where I went wrong??

      Go through the ingredients once again and cross check, maintain the same flame throughout the frying, preferably medium to low.

      @@SefraCorrea you mean I have to keep the flame on medium thru out till I get the golden colour. In other words when I keep the starting stage on medium and then it becomes hot n then I put d kulkuls so I must not change the flame (let it be on medium)

      @@SefraCorrea thanks for your reply. Can we knead the kulkuls in lukewarm milk??? What if the dough becomes sticky than what to do. Coz 3-4 years back I had tried twice and d doughy became so sticky I had to keep on adding maida but still after sometimes it use to become sticky again.
