    A traditional delicacy made with Semolina & fresh grated coconut. This is very popular for Kuswar (Goan Christmas platter) but can be enjoyed through out the year.

    • @EVABRAGANCA

      Yes you can use stainless steel container as long as it doesn't have wooden and plastic handles attached. I have used silver foil with wet tissues inside as a baking strip, which you can buy online or DIY, it helps cake bake evenly on all sides and it doesn't give a dome shape to the cake. Please don't bake it immediately, keep it aside for atleast 6 hours but preferably keeping it overnight is my suggestion. Hope that answers your question. Thanks for watching. Please subscribe to the channel, like and share the video.

    Hi Eva. What is the shelf life of this cake at room temperature? Please reply & thanks. What will be substitute for eggs. I want to make it eggless

    • @EVABRAGANCA
      @EVABRAGANCA  4 роки тому

      Hi Bhavna, Use 3/4 cup of mashed banana puree or plain yogurt instead of 3 eggs as a substitute.Three days will be the shelf life of the cake, since freshly grated coconut is used, however you can use desiccated coconut too for longer shelf life, in my opinion it will becomes a bit dry but it depends on personal preferences. Hope that answers your question. Thanks for watching.

      There is no such hard and fast rule to measure this,but you can use slightly over 1/4 cup,approximately around 70 to 80 gms of butter to substitute oil. Hope that helps and thanks a lot for watching. Enjoy baking.

    • @EVABRAGANCA
      @EVABRAGANCA  4 роки тому +1

      @ AROUND UDUPI Rava and Coconut should be the same quantity, You can use more sugar if you like it sweeter, Using desiccated coconut will make the baath cake dry compared to fresh coconut. Hope it helps and thanks for watching.

    • @EVABRAGANCA
      @EVABRAGANCA  4 роки тому

      Hey Rachel thanks for watching. For 100 gms Semolina you would need 50 gms coconut, 2 eggs and half cup sugar which is appropriately 90 gms if you are using granulated sugar, to be honest it entirely depends how sweet you prefer. Hope that answers your question.

    How is the semolina (rava) yellow in colour, rava is white
    2 cups of grated coconut, is it 1 coconut

    • @EVABRAGANCA
      @EVABRAGANCA  3 роки тому

      Semolina is both yellow and white in colour, the one which is made with Durum wheat will be yellow and the one made with softer wheat types will be white in colour. It doesn't matter you can use any as long as it is the coarse semolina. The size of the coconut will vary, so i can't tell you if its one coconut or two, you just have to measure 2 cups of coconut.Hope that answers your questions. Thanks for watching.
