  • My first tutorial. I wanted to keep this short, but be thorough in all the steps I take to make these beautiful necklaces. I hope it is clear to understand. Sorry I got out of frame a few times.

    Thank you for the great tutorial. I just made a City Life Premier Yarn necklace this moring in the "Red Hot" color. It is a Mother's Day gift for my daughter. It is perfect. The only change I made was to make four bobble stitches on one of the chains that hangs a little below the others to give it the illusion of hanging jewels. Also, I went to a bead store and selected a fancy red and gold bead for this project. You are a great teacher. Thanks again.

    Beautiful necklace and appreciate the tip on using the Bobbie Pin to thread the yarn into the bead. Thank you for sharing with us.

    Thank you Emi for the excellent, easy directions to make this beautiful necklace. I will use a colored glass bead to give it that little extra dazzle. Thank you again. Blessings!

    cyberfly67 you crochet it just like yarn. Do not go through the holes of the ladder yarn. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching.

    Really should show how to do the crochet because not everyone knows and this obviously isn’t your average yarn

    Do I tie a knot at the end of chain so that it doesn’t unravel?

    • @emiayau9071
      @emiayau9071  4 роки тому +1

      Hi Pam,
      I cut the desired length at the end and pull the tail through the last stitch to prevent it from unraveling. Hope this helps.

    Can you please show me how you made the stitches bigger. I got the hang of this but my stitches are not as big as yours

    • @emiayau9071
      @emiayau9071  4 роки тому

      Everyone keeps their tension differently. That could be what's causing smaller chains. You may need to use a larger hook. The alternative would be to create a larger loop before pulling the next chain through. You could also add stitches to increase the length with smaller chains. I bet it is still pretty.

    Thanks for this great tutorial! I'm wondering if you can think of a substitution for the bobby pin? Believe it or not, I don't have even ONE bobby pin in the house!

    • @emiayau9071
      @emiayau9071  7 років тому

      Linda0902NJ maybe a twist tie would work. Just fold in half like a Bobby pin. Hope that helps, and thank you for commenting.

    Do you use it like yarn or do you crochet into it like through the holes?

    Hi Emi, this was a good video, thank you! Can you tell me how you made the chains?

    • @emiayau9071
      @emiayau9071  4 роки тому

      Hi Joana,
      It is the basic chain stitch for crochet. You start with a slip knot and wrap yarn around hook, and pull though.

    good grief, gal! very nice video, BUT you assume TOO much!!! How in the blazes do I DO any form of ladder stitch? I can't find this anywhere w/o crashing laptop!!! SO you're my last "hope"; I need to know from ground up how to start, continue, make the stitch.......want to make without trellis yarn if possible, and do w/ embroidery or even tatting thread to make the strands light & airy. Do NOT need to know extraneous info. JUST HOW TO DO THE STITCH; I'll go from there and design own necklace, etc. BUT am not truly wanting to snub your efforts, just want you to back up 20 steps and give the barest basics!!! Do not need to know multi-strands, or even FINSHING off the necklace ends, as already know. Just get me started and on my way pls. Thanks oodles in advance! Shalom. CLP in Iowa

      Hi Connie, sorry for the confusion. The yarn is ladder yarn. The crochet stitch is just the basic chain stitch. I hope you will be able to find a tutorial on chain stitch if you don't already know how. If you still have trouble lmk, I may try to make a start tutorial. God bless!

    • @emiayau9071

      p.s. What about crocheting tiny spiral strands with the embroidery thread? Then finishing it similarly to the ladder necklace. You've definitely got my creative wheels spinning. I would love to see what you come up with.

      If you don't know how to make a chain, you should look for a beginner's crochet tutorial. After you have learned the basics, then you can check out patterns and projects. I like that she didn't go into details about making a chain.

      @@voyager9028 it would’ve been nice for her to show us how big she makes the stitches, as she used a bigger hook. Guess it’s all about the tension.
