you should really read the directions and UL listing on them smoke detectors you will find that they are only listed to be installed in a single dwelling and not in a commercial install that a common hallway in an apartment building us considered. And hopefully that's a heated hallway cause those alarms will not function below 40 degrees F
I 100% agree with you honestly they should just install a commercial fire alarm system. Even if they went with a wireless system like what Honeywell and system sensor offers. Even if it was a small two family apartment building the cost of installing a fire alarm system would be relatively low. And if it was a larger apartment building than a fire alarm system is probably required. However the smoke alarm system might just be grandfathered in. I feel like State officials and Fire protection agencies to do a better job when it comes to life safety.
You should add emergency lights because that exit sign is a generic piece of junk that is dim. Those smoke detectors just have a light to show is it is in alarm or not and don't put off much light.
Let's be honest it's a handyman and a landlord. They couldn't care less about what smoke detectors is being installed. Because if they did I know that they would have installed a quality exit sign like a dual EV or at least something better than that cheap Chinese garbage.
LPX DH units are rare by no means. sure, more are getting whacked down since the LEDs are going out, but they aren't as rare yet, and the LEDs go out after ten years. as a collector of exit signs, I wouldn't want one unless it had remote capacity (LPXH7 DH) so I could run DC lamps back into the exit sign, put some lamp kits and tubular LEDs in, and forget about the LED assembly altogether.
Also that light on the smoke Detector is not What you think It. That is a Escape Light it comes on when the smoke alarm goes off to help you escape they're not really bright and are pretty pointless
Is poor presco light Exit sign. Why didn't you install a name Brand Exit sign Like Dual light. All of those generic units are not good at all. You will probably be called back in a week because it broke. I'm sick of going into buildings and seeing exit sign that are overrated and underperforming with low build quality. If you want a good LED exit sign use a dual EV series. You're going to be getting a premium exit sign at a Premium cost but you can't put a price on the Life Safety.
@@someengineermain6803 yeah but there's certain things to cheap out on. Exit sign should not be one of them. Nor should any life safety equipment. If you've ever watched fire alarm dude 5967 video about everything wrong with exit and emergency lighting you will see where I'm coming from. Also when you collect exit signs like me it's pretty obvious why you don't want to install cheap units.
Unusual that you didn’t document the cell replacement dates in the detectors. I have 5-9 in a 3/2, some not mounted. And I don’t collect americium from the detectors 😂 Nice panel. I’ve no idea how you can be so upbeat. I’m usually swearing when I do stuff. FunkFPV cracks me up too. 😂🎉
@@TheExitSignDudeOfficialI'm not saying it shouldn't have been replaced, it should have, but I encourage people who take down old exit signs to preserve them and sell them for collectors.

That apartment complex is a dump!
Those rugs look SO disgusting. Honestly, when I see something like that I automatically assume that the whole building is trashy.
I’m now wondering why generic emergency lighting is so popular
