Good to hear from a humble sportsman rather than the brash ones! Not one of the greats but Terry Griffiths was an absolutely rock solid player and very tough to beat.
I may not know much about snooker, but Terry's absolutely one of the greats. Just because his style of play went out of favour doesn't mean he's not. Great player, fantastic coach and an absolute gent.
Snooker is portrayed as a gentleman’s game hence the outfit players wear, the silence during the game etc. but of course we’re human and there’s the gentle, the greedy, the selfish, the bossy, the hooligan & the liar. I picked these traits as an example because there was & is many players of top standard that fit these characteristics with one exception: Terry Griffiths! In a tournament once his opponent didn’t turn up on time & so Terry was awarded the top prize, Terry goes later to that player & genuinely offers him half the money. I can never forget how he once stretched over the table & touch the green and no one noticed but quietly sat back & said foul causing an almost endless applause.
Was probably the third best player overall in the world after Davis and Thorburn for the majority of the 80s. Was unlucky (as were others) in that Steve Davis was at his VERY best at the same time as Terry
Beautiful and genuine man with stories we all wish we had.
Terry true to all us friends, can always have a chat with him, great family man. Brilliant player! One of the legends of the game.
A gift to the snooker world.

Slow player but a great character not everyone can be Alex Higgins or jimmy white but Terry was a great character
Him nearly crying talking about his friend telling him he will be a world champion always is so emotional
What a great humble fellow he is
I really enjoyed that video, what a nice man Terry is.
