Every time I see one of your video comparisons, it makes me feel good about pulling the trigger to go through with buying into an ecosystem. As a DIY guy, I'll be happy with Ryobi's performance especially when the tests are this close.
I’ve been using Ryobi since 2017. Every tool I have purchased has worked great, and I have really put the drills, impact, recip saw and circ saw through the ringer! The new tools look even more powerful than the ones I bought!
What is truly amazing, is to see the raw power those 12volt tools are dishing out, compared to 18v tools, thinking about going into the 12v Milwaukee fuel line, they are impressive for sure !! Still like Ryobi for price, I think they are pretty good tools, they have never failed me at tasks.
@@ManCaverTools had a ryobi string trimmer fail on me, they replaced it with a new one. also was using a really really old ryobi drill on super thick metal. it was one of the blue old old ones, it couldn't get through the metal, had to get a corded one. I still buy their tools and after that blue one failed, i bought the proper (ryobi) hammer drill! the prices are amazing. I still use the blue one to this day!
I love the atomic line, used them for over 4 months until I moved up to more powerful drills due to awesome deals at HD. I bought the 4 combo piece and love the recip saw!
Dewalt atomic is great . (Period) people are under rating it . I have that exact dewalt drill and it works great for my wood working projects and carpentery jobs .
I'm debating with myself weather to get the Ryobi 18V brushless or the DeWalt featured in this vid. Can you tell me the specific model number of this DeWalt drill? I just need something solid for wood working info on the weekends. I have been using my old DeWalt DCD 710 for a long time but lately I have been noticing that the bits get loose in the chuck while drilling which is annoying. It's an older model so there is no ratcheting feature in the chuck.
I have stated before my love for the Atomic drill, I did end up giving my Atomic impact and drill to my brother in law though. I already had Milwaukee Fuel tools and didn't need them.
Enjoy your reviews! As a home owner / DIYer / novice wood worker I'm debating between Atomic, Xtreme, or M12 Fuel for upgrading from my Craftsman brushed C3. So many good options out there!
Everything in America is dirt, dirt, dirt cheap compared to the rest of the world. A 3 piece milwaukee m12 set here is $600. How are your shops surviving if you are paying nothing then taking half of it back for a refund????
I know, I'm commenting on another of your 2yr old videos, but, algorithm.!? Anyways, DeWalt has it's 2nd Gen Atomic Series out now, for comparison this video still has value, HVAC guys love the Atomic Series because it can get into really tight places, Ryobi guys want to see how their drill measures up to BigYellow. I think Ryobi's been quietly venturing into a market segment, that of the experienced-apprentice/turning -professional. The people who already have the battery platform from when they started a couple years back. They as of today, have 3 market segments; the DIY'rs, the novice/apprentice, and the apprentice turning pro.
A lot of us are already embedded in a system and don't really need to know how well one brand does against another. It would be cool to see a comparison between the new HP tools and ones that are getting long in the tooth (but are still owned by many) like the P271 drill. When replacing old tools, I'd rather know how the new ones compare to those than to tools I likely wouldn't be buying, anyway. It might make for a pretty popular series. Give it some thought.
A lot of people want to see these brand vs brand videos. because. a lot of people are new to tools and want to know which brand fits there power they want with the price, not everyone buys into a battery system. Most people have tools from a couple of brands. just because you don't need to see it doesn't mean other people don't want to see it
@@TheCharleseye I would very much like to see how the new tools compare to the old ones. I'm invested in the Ryobi One+ system, and while it's fun to see how they compare to other brands, it's much more useful to see how they compare to older versions.
Would really appreciate your opinion on which drill/impact combo you would buy. The ryobi hp, dewalt atomic, makita lxt, Milwaukee M18, or rigid? I know some are brushless and some aren’t, but they’re all around $150 and it’s so hard to know which direction to go.
Dewalt 708 was capable of taking 8" Mora ice auger thru 3+ft of very heavy wet ice. Traded it for Dewalt 991 just because of the additional handle - it's almost impossible to operate ice auger + 708 with one hand.
Thats the one annoying thing about dewalt is they don't tell you how powerful their drills are or if they do its in unit watts out which according to acme is 340 uwo instead of just saying torque
You didn't do the temp check on the dewalt right after using like you did on the ryobi. Also, these tools do not come with those big batteries so when doing your tests, use the batteries the tools come with so the dyi'er knows exactly what to expect right out of the box. Most should know these compacts have limitations and would only be used doing light - med light duty work or when needing b/c of an occasional tight space issue, especially when using the kit batteries. When doing all day work running lag bolts, get out the big boy tools.
Hey man I like the idea of the ryobi 18 v scrubbing cleaning tools can you get some of the new 4 volt scrubbing tools and see if they are powerful enough to actually do anything
@Man Caver Tools yea after seeing ur vid I checked my new hp drill an impact an my drill has them but not the impact same thing with my hp oscillating saw no extra terminals but then I check my hp rotary hammer an it has the extra terminals so I don't get it ! I'm not sure it makes a difference.i even have one + brushed tools that compete with the same battery's.
speed 1 provides more torque and will do tougher tasks. speed 2 will do the job faster but if the taks is too hard it will stop working with the extra RPMs
@@ManCaverTools Mate I don't know what the hell you're doing with those spade bits? For curiosity sake I put a brand new 35mm Irwin spade bit in my ATOMIC and put it in speed 2 and it flew through a 45mm piece of seasoned framing pine like butter !
I love dewalt but for me anyways I prefer to go with Milwaukee m12 fuel which has as much if not more power and I love the m12 form factor. But no one should listen to me because I’ll pic that ryobi over any of them just because I love that green and black colors together lmao
Can you do like an add on video to this one where you use the Milwaukee m12 fuel and Hilti 12v and do the exact same test as these then just throw up the numbers and or failed for all four together.
@mancavertools great video, pretty entertaining. You keep showing me more and more reason to never buy into that Ryobi line. It is comparable to the worst Dewalt tools they currently make and that means they just aren't good (speaking of Ryobi of course).
Dewalt fan hate atoni/dcd708, wtf? Bs.. its great sku, replacement of dcd777 which has scoosen best of it class. This is modern version from the dcd777. Aöso dcd77i is basicly old dcd790 which was pro model with small differencies.

Hi, the Dewalt It is a good drill for carpentry and drywall work?
I thing the weight n size thats the best way to make desition to buy a power tool thats me i don't the other guys
weight has a lot to do with it as well
Which should I buy?
$149 Dewalt Atomic brushless combo kit
$139 Ryobi HP brushless combo kit

that all depends on the battery platform you want to get into. both brands have a lot to offer
If you want to go into outdoor tools, etc. go Ryobi.
