I clicked on the video to watch about pelargoniums, but seeing Ukrainian flag on your sweater melt my heart ❤️. Thank you from me all all ukrainians for showing your support 🇺🇦🇬🇧
You’re welcome irynadyka Unfortualy the fasteners gave way on the badge, and have lost It in the garden somewhere. But we still fly a Ukrainian flag at the front of our cottage also our neighbours. Thanks for watching regards Cliff.
Double crossing my fingers that I will have a successful winter. Bringing in my 4 geraniums and taking cuttings from each. 16 beauties would be awesome but I’ll be happy if I can double my plants. Thank you for taking the time to teach me.❤️🇨🇦
This video has been out almost a year but I just saw it this afternoon...and I'm moving my geraniums into the greenhouse tomorrow before our first real cold front hits. Thank you so much for making this, always perfect instruction and clear and encouraging help, and Diane's steady hand bringing the cuttings up close and right to my eye is wonderful. Thank you for everything you're teaching us and in such a beautiful format!
GREAT video i watched one of your older clips and just took cuttings from three beautiful red ones i bought this year i hope i am successful as i can increase my stock year on year
Hi Cliff and lovely Diane Did ours few weeks ago and only lost two cuttings rest doing very well now , cheap way of increasing your stocks, keep safe Bill and val
Well done Bill & Val for just only losing two, with not using any heat I might lose several so I have taken extra. Had plenty of rain these past few days Its very welcome. Take care regards from us both.
Yes I'm about to do my Geranium cuttings that I'll put in my south facing window in my flat and some at my Mums for her. Its been quite warm still, so Im doing them a little later this year. I love doing them, they take so well and it is surprising how quick they will try to flower, as you say, I take them off until near the time I pot them up and put them into the greenhouse next year before planting or gping into bigger pots or hanging baskets. Loverly colour variations I got from some new ones I did from seed this year, I like to do both from seed and cuttings. All the best, John, Hampshire, UK
Sounds like you have your cuttings sorted John, the season has been late this year. I admire you growing from seed and cuttings well done regards Cliff.
Hi Cliff just watched your Geraniumn cutting and over wintering, I need to do mine which in the past has been very unsuccessful! But I will try again this year hopefully with a better successful result🤞 now mine are trailing variety so do I treat them exactly the same as those that grow in the garden? My late father gave me a cutting of a very beautiful pink trailing that he did and gave to me for my baskets, I still have that plant that I keep free from frosts but would love to get some nice cutting for a just in case and keep this plant going, keep well and safe and look forward to the next program! 👍
Thanks David.. Yes they are treated the same, If you can put plenty of vermiculite in the compost. Also don't overwater they should root quite easy. Enjoy your week regards from us both.
Hi Cliff. Very interesting video. I normally take my geranium cuttings in the spring but will give this a go. I remember on a previous video you were taking cuttings from a Bacopia plant you had overwintered. Do you have any tips for keeping Bacopias overwinter. Is it just a case of potting up and bringing in to the greenhouse before any frost? Any help much appreciated. Trevor.
Hi Trevor I found that the Bacopa Is quite hardy, and I did overwinter in my cold frame. Yes bring into the cold greenhouse before frost regards Cliff.
I’m on the coast, we rarely see anything colder than -2 or-3c, how early in spring could I start taking cuttings. I do have a west facing greenhouse with no heat.
i havent got a greenhouse as yet ,ive 33 geraniums in troughs and pots outside , would they be ok in a cold frame wrapped in a fleece ,also inside a brick bulding with a large window , theres one or two that i could bring in the house . also theyve been plagued by green caterpillars ive been picking them off every day but how can i make sure theyve all gone before i do anything with the plants .
Hi loftyskies.. your best chance would be in the brick building with the window. Repot them into a mixture 3 part sharp sand 1 part compost. Check for vine weevil when potting, carefully remove 1 third of the plant checking for caterpillars that should be gone by then. keep them just moist not wet, in really cold weather cover with extra fleece. Repot in the spring regards Cliff.
I just got about 30 scented geraniums that were neglected for a while. They were all kept in pots, on a table, very close together, so they are single stemmed, slender and very long, most at least 30 cm. I'm at a loss with what to do to get them healthy. We have very mild winters, so I don't usually need to do anything for my other geraniums and have never taken cuttings. If I bury the long stems, do you think they will root and bush out at the base? Should I take the tops and try growing cuttings? Any insights are helpful.
Hi crizzyjj, If I was you I would space them out and feed them well, also a little misting with water will help. Until they are growing then take the growing tips out, then they should break naturally regards Cliff.
Please can you tell me the name of that vine weevil stuff you use and what are the active ingredients of the spray? Have you ever tried cinnamon for a rooting powder?
Hi Jimmy I try to use a organic one, bought it from Amazon cant remember what its called. Will try an show on video the container when sorting the rhubarb regards Cliff.

I have found that using organic honey in a pinch if you don't have rooting hormone works nicely! At least for succulents, which i propagate the most 😁
Thanks for sharing Toast Ghost, will remember If I ever run out regards Cliff.

Another Masterclass Cliff! Great Video ! Out of interest when do you plan to wake up the Geraniums in Spring?
Hi Pebbles It does depend on the weather conditions, as you do need a warmer greenhouse to wake them up. Take care regards Cliff.

What kind of roting powder are you useing. What brand?

Why do you call the small flower buds "little devils" when God created these beautiful flowers?
Hi geoffauckett I didn't know I called them little devils, will have to have a look at the video. All flowers and plants are beautiful regards Cliff.
Energy will go to the flower instead of roots .
Any gardeners knows that
@@shepopop so that’s why they’re “little devils“? The point I’m making is we attribute what God created to the devil. Obviously that’s wrong.
Better without the world war woke badge….
Not sure what you mean barney, but thanks for your comment regards Cliff.
