I'm glad that there are still developers out there that want to make a game like _Gravity Circuit._ This game hits all of the right notes for fans of Mega Man X in terms of music, gameplay, and graphics. There are more mega man clones than Metroidvanias. I’m like… like 60% sure of it cuz lately all I see is indie metroidvanias.
And inticreates is still doing mega man clones. They literally made the Zero and XZ series.
@@AsteroSloth Speaking of which, I HIGHLY recommend the Azure Striker Gunvolt series. To me, Gunvolt is the TRUE successor to Megaman.

At least from what I've seen the Switch is very indie friendly. If you goto the store you can find alot of smaller(and more reasonably priced) games if you just get past the AAA titles. A lot of 2D side strollers as well. Good ones too. And they often are included in sales so you can get then even cheaper! Do a little digging in the switch store. You'll be glad you did!

Why doesn’t mega man x get more respect? Everyone always runs to zero but don’t mention x which it got most of its mechanics from smh
@@brendaspence1824 it’s not that X doesn’t get respect, but that there’s more “hack & slash” elements that seem to be in this, which reminds me more of the Zero series and Ninja Gaiden on the NES. I’m sure there’s going to be some distance characters that will incorporate an X style of combat. We will see at least.

with so many amazing games like this, inspired by the core gameplay mechanics of mega man, "mega-like" should really be a genre at this point
I think its more of a mixture of rogue-lite (you can buy chips to get better runs) and metroidvania (doesnt need explanation its pretty obvious why xd)
@@PotitoDestroyer3000 the core gameplay controls of mega man apply to this game as well, aka shooting unique enemies while going through a side scroll style level with unique platforming obstacles
@@dorbacal ok I've (finally) searched and nope, it's just a new and creative take, if you want to think of it in this way, in the platformer hack n' slash genre. Other games take ideas from mega-man and implement it in their metroidvania games or hack n' slash games but mega-man didn't shocked and revolutionized the game industry to make a new genre, something that Dark Souls did 🤓☝️

ALSO, THE LARGE SPRITE--- PERFECTION. The other retro games make some tiny garbage Sprite, even Blasphemous and the Messenger, tiny crap sprites
This game gives me a mixed feeling of MegaMan, Broforce and Sonic as well. I love the artsyle in this game, it somewhat feels like playing a SNES game on your pc and the music, wow. This is definitely going to my wishlist.

This game looks great. Went back to the old trailer from years back, lot of stuff’s improved; naturally. Some redesigns, notably the nurse. Looks rather polished and charming now.

While I understand the sentiment, it's a bit funny to say it like that. The Mega Man franchise as a whole draws a lot of ideas from Tokusatsu and other early Japanese media, some of the examples including Casshern (Rush as a robodog companion), Android Kikaider (Protoman's scarf, sunglasses and whistle), Ninja Captor (quoted to have inspired Mega Man's ability to change colors). Mega Man 6 outright has a Mazinger Z homage in the form of Metonger Z (third Mr. X castle boss).
All that is to say, a lot of creators draw inspiration and ideas from various sources.
