Today I went to Shelby Powersports in Bronx NYC to see a 2022 ktm 890 adventure r. I love the bike & hope to own one next year. This video gave me great ideas that I would like to have installed on the bike once I get it. Thanks🙏👍🤞
@@MotoCityTV I'm probably getting a clutch soon from your Suzuki parts pro division haha. Something is up with mine ☹️. Haven't torn it down but it's slipping under power/load... Fml.... Lol
Bummer your clutch is going out! Well, when you are ready... we have what you need: www.motocityparts.com/oemparts/a/suz/5e20732287a866135c5d0d04/clutch You can always put in a Rekluse ;) Then it will NEVER Stall and you can climb walls!
Very nice machine. Looks solid build with all necessary parts. Great job building this machine. Do you see any benefit of one finger clutch from Camel adv? Or intent was to use KTM powerparts only?
Yes! The Camel ADV one finger clutch is AMAZING as is their tower support. I personally would add the Rotwiler Intake and a PCV to smooth out the fuel curve. MotoCity does not sell those parts... So I kept this one to KTM PowerParts Only. Thank for watching!
@@manybikes Thanks! Yes, I got my 890 about 2 months ago just completed 3k miles journey from Texas to Colorado passes and one finger helped a lot. With you, plan to replace my intake system to rotto next task in my list before trip to Baja begins :).
@@rocksnroadsadventure4247 Sick!!!! I rode Travis' 790 "Every Single Sunday" for a few weeks. That intake and reflash makes night and day difference. Like you won't think its the same bike!!!
@@manybikes I have the one finger clutch on my 890 and I love it. I ride a lot of Jeep trails and more technical stuff and feathering the clutch all day is a breeze with it. I am still on the fence about intakes and exhaust and cat deletes. I want my bike quiet and reliable. Don’t know enough about messing with pcu flashes. Thanks!
Well... Good Catch! We LOVE the rack but it needed the Case Carrier seen here: www.ktmpartspro.com/product/196222/ktm-890-adventure-top-case-carrier in order to mount the rack onto the existing tail. KTM has it on backorder... we will install the rack once the carrier arrives.
Great video btw, thank you! I have this bike and use the handles on the existing tail all the time but also want that case carrier so I was curious if it was going to replace it or mount on top of it.
@@davidpavacich7374 From what we can see the handles will still be used. The carrier rack we showed you is actually a PowerPart for the 890 that was STANDARD on the 1090 and 1190 motorcycles. THUS the reason we did not think we needed to order it to use the rack. Go figure! More installation videos to follow so we hope you stay tuned!
Thank you so much for this video. Because these types of videos help me a lot. And I have a question for you. Which parts do you think should be absolutely necessary for 890? Thanks again.
@@MotoCityTV thanks for the info, though it would be great to check full forward position (there are 6 in total). Most handguard do hit the TFT from my research.
The rally footpegs are unusable sitting down. Nobody stands up the whole time. The brake side is ok but you cannot get to the gears without very high adjustment upwards. Good for motor sport no good for adventure. Pivot pegs are nearly as big but usable across the range of the bike (I do like and use the power parts but not the footpegs)

Have fun!
Nice work, no exagerations just simple and easy yet looks way better than most
Very nice! Those levers are awesome. I love how they fold UP instead of out like most do. THAT'S the way they all should be on motorcycles.
Right on! Thanks for checking it out... A lot of goodness from www.KTMPartsPro.com

@@MotoCityTV Thanks MotoCity, I just placed my order right now. You guys rock!
Thank you for your support Brian!
Rim tape reminds me of a $200 mountain bike at Costco or Walmart.
When you put on the exhaust, did you need to put on new gaskets? Or were the stock ones fine
on web site there is no 890 adventure R choice
The 790 /890 are the same.
Great video. I have some of these power parts on my bike and think I might get some more having seen this video.Still not keen on the rim tape
Ha! Ha! Our good buddy bought this bike... it is SWEET and I actually like the rim tape ;)
Best PowerParts review! 👌
Wow, thanks!

Just curious what happened with the rear rack? It doesn't look like it made it onto the bike.

A link to each part would be helpful

about the hand guards - do you know whether they hit the TFT display when the handlebar is in the full-forward position?
Great question. I did not inspect the handlebar position but these do NOT hit the TFT display.

It is still on the floor. Maybe I'll check it out... see which positions work and which do not..
Workshop guy lol

2022? It's 2021
The registration for this bike will say 2022. Made in 2021 as a 2022 Model according to the paperwork.
