Grand National is my dream car also… I’m glad I own and daily drive one
I half-daily one as well... it's definitely awesome.
I have had 6 of them, a new one in 87 w moonroof...rolled it over 2 times in 90...that's when I quit drinking,,59 now and still have an 87..this one is the fastest one...ive had alot of cars but grand nationals are just the balls...there just bad ass..everything about them is comfortable, sleek and mean looking...anybody driving anything will really think twice about pulling up beside one if they know what they are....happens to me all the time...I smoke everybody..by the time they know what's going on I'm doing 80....I'm selling soon and am going 72 buick gs...4 speed....going to bang gears while I still have good knees....
That’s awesome. I got to drive one of my dream cars a few years ago, 2000 Cobra R Mustang
My neighbor has a gnsx with like 2000 miles on it. Literally showroom. Shame he never drives it.
You felt the GrandNational turbo lag , is why one second no throttle response, then you feel the turbo spooling up and building boost ! Most people don’t know the Buick GrandNational and the GNX were the fastest 1/4 mile production car in the US , it was quicker than the Corvette ! I owned a 1985 Oldsmobile 442 back in 1987 , wish I kept it !
GM logic- drop in a monster engine but keep the stock barely adequate disk drum brake setup. These should have had larger 4 wheel disk brakes from the outset. Always wanted one of these GN's but would definitely spend to upgrade the brakes and stock turbo
I've driven many big block v8s and instant torque is def fun and all... but these ole Buick turbo v6s are something else. When the turbo kicks in it just takes off (and often breaking the tires free at speed in the process) it behaves like a 2stroke dirtbike hitting that sweet powerband. I half daily a GN and it makes me smile everytime.
Everyone's dream car.
My friend owns a 1989 mustang gt with a h- pipe exhaust. No cats . The t- type aka grand national took off like a shot my friend said
We need more videos daily or weekly JD!
My goal is to get out more. I’d love to deliver 2 a week.
That car would have made you the king of my high school back in the day.
The GN is an amazing car! A friend had one back in the day and I definitely remember how the torque came in!
Own a '67 Camaro SS350 4 spd w/4.11 posi(49 years) and a '68 Cougar w/428 Cobra jet w/ram air, C6, nine"posi, been in family since new! The GN is quick for sure, and i love the lines on the G-bodies! The GN's will always have a place in my heart, for it is the only 1 I bought new! Time, like the muscle cars sure passes quickly! Prepare to meet thy God! Amos 4:12!
Nice - been waiting for this one. Happened to be on and it
Popped up!!
Hope you enjoyed it! Sorry I was late getting it out.
sick ride love those old grand nationals
That Nova has some detonation.
😍😍😍
I remember reading about thhe GN in car and driver back in 1987. I told myself I will just have to get one. 2 years later I own one and I still have it today. I have done a few enhancments to it and it is even faster. It is a car I have many fond memories with my dad at bowling green, before his passing.. I do not drive it very much, mainly it is a hazard for my life and license. The temptation is just too much at times.
Nash bridges, viper , walker texas ranger would be the start of many kids dream cars
Solid video JD❤
very nice but.....
first off there's a problem the rear-deck lid badge is in the WRONG PLACE, should be on the drivers' side....so that needs to be addressed
So cool
My dad have a grand national and ive drove it more than he have …scary fast once that turbo kicks in just keep pulling and feels like it not shifting gears
I've realized at the age of 54 people respectively have names
But...the Buick Grand National is still a v6 turbo nightmare to today's fast cars.
Ah in my home town, at Robs.
I was waiting to hear which one would you choose out of the cars you drove?
That’s a hard one. ALL for different reasons, ZR1 for speed and the grand National because it’s so cool.
Wheres the viper you picked it. I loved the nova
Gotta make another trip and drive the Viper.
My dream car is to drive is a 1986 mercury grand marquis wagon and 1985 Lincoln town car. My parents almost bought 1986 mercury grand marquis sedan when I was a kid but salesman was lying to us and was driving the car everywhere so we did not get the car and ended up getting a 1982 VW rabbit at another car dealer.
Rabbits are cool, my buddy had one when we were in high school.
@@JD_JoyrideTV yes they are! Cool!
@JD_JoyrideTV JD BACK IN THE EARLY 90S THE ONLY CAR ON THE ROAD IN THE PRICE RANGE AS MY 87 MUSTANG GT AND MY 93 COBRA THAT GAVE ME A GREAT RACE WAS THE GRAND NATIONAL AND BACK IN 87 WHEN IT CAME OUT IT WAS JUST AS FAST AS THE CORVETTE LOL AT LEAST THE GNX WAS.
Grand national is the next car for the channel
How much are they asking for the Grand national.
“Is that a cop? Lol.
dude this thing is fast yeah it's fast it can go 170 Mi an hour
Stock brakes? Nope. Vacuum conversion
Mine still work after 37 years- flush lines and powermaster every year.
Can you add a ho or n scale train to your town? [Don't reply please] thanks so much!
Have you opened my package yet it said on the box plz open this on camera plz open it on camera it will be the best thang ever
Just trade the Camaro in and buy it.
Blowoff valve?? Nope lol
That salesman knows nothing about whats he’s selling. In one split second of seeing the gn engine, i can see a 3” dp.. so you know at least, injectors, tune, and probably a different turbo
Grand nationals were made in silver too early on. 🤦♂️
Oh you mean the 2 tones? Mostly only consider 84 through 87 as true grandnationals. Only 86 and 87 were intercooled and the most valuable. You could get a t type or turbo t they were basically grandnationals with different colors.
Two tone silver. So, silver.
@@frankszymkowski7780 Yeah. A lot of people forget about those.
The 80’s car are the business these days.
Buicks
Irocs
Firebirds
Trans arms
C4 corvettes
You gotta get the Buick GN tons of mods for them. Be great for the channel.
I’m 54 back in the day a got lucky and drove a Buick t type turbo holy crap it was fast ! My daily car was a 77 Camaro 305 2 barrel automatic 😂 I thought it was so cool and fast but after driving the Buick I was wtf my Camaro is SUCKS !
Yeah those things are fast. Mine is moded with stock internals and a bigger turbo it's 500hp and 600tq. Mine is considered the basic build.
