Are there any brackets i need for the shifter to the transmission that holds the cable underneath?

You will need one bracket for the transmission and the boot that goes into the floor to house the cable but that should be it.

have you ever had any problems with the rear upper shock mounts, my 77 monte carlo has a big crack when the shock mounts are and im not sure the steps to take to repair it. i dont have a lift so i cant pull the body off to get to it easier, do you have any tips or ideas on how to repair it?

Haven't personally ran into it. If I did the best way is to remove the body and repair the area or if it was me since I have a ton of frames I would just swap one out. Get it up in the air and check it out with some good lighting see what you have going on.
      Good luck with the build!
