Honestly I think there's a really good case to be made for Two Betrayels being up there. If you think about it, that level throws the fucking book at you, you fight literally every type of enemy/vehicle except for Spec Ops Elites. Ghosts, Banshees, Turrets, Wraiths, Hunters, Rocket Launcher Flood, Sentinels, Invisible Elites, you gotta be prepared for everything! Vehicle sections, close quarters, long range, narrow bridges, circular rooms. That final section where you fight off two wraiths, hordes of flood, covenant with invisible elites sneaking up on you is probably the longest battle in one location the franchise has ever had. I'd put Two Betrayels above The Library but that's just like, my opinion, man. I think Library is more of a grind. Nice job, Luke!
Oh I don't know about that.... Two betrayals may be a true test of variety, but Truth and Reconciliation on the other hand, once you're inside the Battlecruiser....
I was about to make a comment on how Two Betrayals is much harder than The Library for me. The Fuel Rod Cannon Grunts, the Rocket Launcher Flood (especially the one at the end of THAT hallway), all of the vehicles, etc.: it's a recipe for pain.
They were worse in two betrayals. At least in the library you generally encounter them in wide areas where you can maneuver about, but in 2B you find the fuckers in the tight little rooms like the phase pulse generator rooms.
That's true, I hadn't thought of that.... Bungie were a bunch of damn trolls lol. "Hey remember those guys with rocket launchers you had to dodge in those hallways? Yeah, do it from 2 feet away now" XD Should've called it 3 betrayals.
The problem with the rocket flood especially is because, unlike other Halo enemies, flood have ZERO sense of self-preservation so they'll just face-first into you and blast away with their rockets
Like the first 3 are easy , then silent cartographer was difficult (due to hunters) and assault on control room was annoyingly difficult and long . Then the game became more difficult due to flood.
I actually record the mission on normal for better footage with more consistent fighting and I mix it all in there. It creates a better overall viewing experience.
Luke TheNotable that makes sense... it's more fun to see chaos than you hiding behind cover and getting shot in the toe and dying. (Legit happend to me on that corridor in earth city... I had just finished killing the buggers and regening my shield. )
GamesBuffalo you have no idea I played that mission on legendary with my buddy earlier and theirs a total of 4 jackal snipers in that area all in different locations it took us 20mins+ to get past that one area
Luke TheNotable I understand. You would have to play for hours to get decent footage on legendary. Just, the memory of Jackle Snipers still haunts me to this day.
Truth and reconciliation is super hard just for the fact that there aren't any magnums in the whole mission, also for me Two betrayals and Assault in the control room (essentially the same missions since it's the same scenario) are super difficult too
TBC1 yeah ammo is preservation is hard especially for the squad system, not a fan of that. I was on the elevator part in maridian before giving up! At least in halo 2 anniversary you can pop the infinite ammo and scarab skull on to have a slightly better time
Aidan Bennett yeah. Issue is it isn't hard it's just annoying. The only thing making it harder than 3 on legendary or even reach is the bullet sponges.
As soon as I saw the video I knew one mission was guaranteed to be here: The Library It took me so long, it caused me so much pain, it was so confusing At multiple areas I got lost, blinded, overwhelmed, shot by rockets, hit by nades, blown up by phat bois It sucked
Midnight in Halo 4 is, to me, the hardest mission in the game. The bridge you have to cross while getting swarmed with crawlers was frustrating and rage-inducing.
Terbin I just finished that mission on legendary not even 5 minutes ago, not nearly as bad as I thought it was going to be. Just super long, took me an hour and a half
It's not that bad, I've done it relatively easily on legendary without dying in under 25 minutes. Just backpack reload and use the shotgun/magnum combo. This allows for a constant stream of fire. The flood are never really infinite, and you almost always have some way to run thru a section. The flood cannot throw grenades either. I would say T&R is much harder on legendary. You can develop some good strats for T&R, but the lift battle and lift room battle can be very challenging if you do not backpack reload and especially if you don't switch your AR for a plasma pistol early on. The plasma pistol makes short work of jackals and allows you to stun sword elites so you can finish them with the sniper rifle quickly.
Thank you, my bro! Glad you enjoyed it! I figured Gravemind would be number one. Fun fact, Gravemind is the ONLY Halo mission that Nak3d Eli was unable to beat on Legendary without dying. That definitely says something :-P Here's a link to my list for those interested. All three of Luke's were in my top 10, so he's got great taste for sure :-) ua-cam.com/video/EMyfl2NDtjE/v-deo.html
What’s regret? Sounds familiar like I’ve spent hours on the single boss fight......... hmm all I know is that I lost my memory from a halo level before.
definately need to add in any of the halo two mission with any sort of abundance of jackal snipers, the amount of deaths to poking my head for literally less than 0.5 seconds and dying is absurd
library -turn a corner oh crapie a flood explodie boi cortana -running through flood getting scared incresed A.I. well getting shot at by spikiey bois gravemind -looking for the exit well getting shot at and charged at by Harry bois, also there are snipie bois, little bois, and the worst of all infected bois
Even though I don't play on legendary setting, these levels, I can agree with. (Especially on easy). I would also like to add the Halo 4 level "Midnight" onto this list, and a few chapters in ODST.
Sterling Archer I’ve beaten it,here’s a tip that really helped me out,on the part with the brute chieftains, you want to keep the sniper rifle nearby and shoot them in the head as quick as u can
Before even watching this, I'm guessing the library, the oracle, gravemind, high charity, Cortana, and the pillar of autumn. Edit: well I wasn't wrong.
I didn’t know people thought the pillar of autumn was hard, I beat reach legendary about 3 days ago and the only level I got stuck in was exodus for about 2 hours, every other mission never felt like a challenge as long as you had a plasma pistol
@Thejuicymilk my way to deal with that was kill the one with the gravity hammer first with an assasination, stun him with a charged plasma pistol shot makes it very easy to assassinate enemies, then just wait for the other big guys to push you while you have the hammer
I agree with Cortana, and Gravemind, especially Gravemind as it took me forever to beat it on Legendary. But not Library. For me library is when compared to some of the earlier missions. For me the best weapons weapons to fight the flood are the Assault Rifle and Shotgun which are abundant in Library.
On Normal difficulty, Assault on the Control Room from Halo: CE. Today, I got so unbelievably mad that I broke a headset over the lack of healing items.
I past all Halos on legendary , except for 4,2 and some levels of CE. Cuz keyes,Assault on the Control room, the Maw and TWO BETRAYALS ARE SOOO HARD ON EVEN EASY FOR ME,HARDER THAN HALO 2
It actually sounds pretty good. The plasma rifle can easily knock the ranged forms and another ranged flood while a more aggressive flood can be killed with the energy sword in one hit.
Yeah I'll suggest a change tho. The flood can 1 hit you so close range might not be best, maybe instead of a energy sword, maybe a battle rifle. Also, t h e s h e i l d s
my go-to loadout for battling flood in Halo 3 is one plasma rifle and an energy sword. I use the energy sword to insta-kill the stalker forms, then use the plasma rifle for everything else. I only use one so it allows for a faster weapon switch. Using a flamethrower seems tempting, but it doesn't immediately kill all the forms around you and I found myself dying instantly because the burning Flood forms would swarm me.
Haven't actually passed cortana and its been well over 9 years, flood was just too scary to me as a chile (same with halo 2 but it was the arbiter mission that introduced the flood but I completed it a few months ago along with the rest of the campaign)
@@avci6084 Cuz he gets mad millions of views on them where his halo stuff gets 500k (if he's lucky). Think about it. Would you rather spend a lot of time coming up with these Halo vids just to get 75k, or spend much less time on Fortnite stuff and get 5M? No brainer for me.
I was about to say that mission was easy until I realized you meant the hellish one from Reach and not the fun one from CE. Yeah, THAT Pillar of Autumn is miserable to play
I remember doing it on LASO solo around 2011, probably one of the most memorable campaign experiences I've ever had. I took advantage of every skip and exploit I could but I still had to fight waves upon waves of enemies in the Holdout firefight map section and those brute chieftains are like Gods. Because it was solo, I had to quit out and resume every time I died but when I finally completed the mission, I felt a great sense of accomplishment. Just after I finished, a friend invited me to a party and I told him about it and he wanted me to help him get the weekly challenge too, so I did it again with a party of 4 and it felt a lot easier in comparison and I completed it again using all the methods I'd learned previously. I distinctly remember going to bed after completing it a second time and I found it very hard to sleep because I still felt the adrenaline rush and I couldn't stop thinking about those brute chieftains. Don't think I've felt that immersed since.
Just gone done talking about this level in another comment. I said the same thing... I honestly don't even remember if I did it on Legendary, because Heroic was already a nightmare.
i vaguely remember getting all the way to the part where you have to shoot the space cannon and finding that the hardest part of that level by far. was like 7+ years ago. on legendary
I just played through the whole of Halo CE on Legendary, The truth and reconciliation is the Hardest CE Mission by far and then followed by Two Betrayals, The Library really was not to bad... I really do think there is a false perspective of the Library, people look back on it as being hard, Yet if they played all of the levels on CE they would find it is pretty easy on Legendary compared to the other two missions i listed.
Library isn't a hard mission, it's just really annoying and grindy, Two Betrayals is long, lots of diverse enemies to fight, Truth and Reconciliation is probably just harder because you have more things shooting at you en masse. I mean really between the Flood and Covenant, I'd easily pick the flood to fight mechanic-wise because they are predictable and you can outgun them way more. Covenant can flatten you in a firefight.
Truth and Reconciliation isn’t difficult at all, you get so much sniper ammo as long as you’re good with the sniper and only use it to kill elites you can carry it through 50% of the level. Not to mention you’re fighting the covenant and there’s no shortage of plasma pistols to use, the single hardest part about that mission is the lack of ammo for your pistol, forcing you to use other means to take down large groups of grunts and jackals.
A majority of Truth and Reconciliation can be skipped easily with multiple active camo locations. And you get extra Sniper Rounds for 75% of the mission, including the elite ambush rooms. However I will agree on swapping out Cortana for Two Betrayals. Two betrayals has 3 Flood Spawns that spawn IN THE CHECKPOINT with multiple Rocket Flood forms. In fact, a recent Halo CE world record was almost snuffed out by these very spawns. The Arbiter IS IN Cortana, at the last scene with a Flame Thrower and Plasma Sword. Cortana also has limited Active Camo(I think there is only one) and Two Betrayals has multiple warzones that if you get caught in, the flood will massively aggro you. This is countered by multiple rocket launcher spawns but jumping INTO the pulse generators also wipes your shield in 3 parts of the map.
Cortana isn’t too bad the second time playing it cause u can just run through it, other that the core bit which is tricky, I wouldn’t put it above missions like Tsavi highway or quantine zone. Bits that’s just my opinion.
@@tommunism8778 tsavo highway is honestly one of the easiest missions to speed run. The only problem is the shield generator at the end but I certainly wouldn’t put Tsavo Highway as more difficult than say Regret or Two Betrayals
@@ethanstarbuck3124 yes I would put that old comment of mine out of date now after replaying all the games except halo 5 I don’t think I could name a single one mission hardest cause it all depends on luck. And how nice halo 3s vehicle physics feel like being too you. Two betrayals was a chore though I will admit that was really tough.
The last part wasn't what was annoying for me. It was the second breach... I ran out of weapons and had to crouch walk 3 inches from 2 dual wielding elites to get a weapon... It worked.... luckily.
Last week I played through Gravemind on Heroic for the first time. It was my first run of Halo all the way through on my own. Gravemind was hell and I'm glad to see I'm not the only one to suffer on this one. But, knowing I can beat the hardest level in all of Halo on Heroic give me hope for when I start Halo 3 Heroic next week
Those levels are pretty easy when you use speedrunning tactics, on quarantine zone - you can drive through every part of the mission & get on the roof of the gondolla to skip that entire fight portion (unfortunately you can't skip the gondolla ride which makes it a lengthy mission). Quarantine Zone has two points that are annoying to drive through but you get active camo which is a bonus. Sacred Icon is a joke on legendary if you know when to use active camo you can skip everything. The hardest part is getting through the tunnel that takes you to the last fighting area. Edit: Gravemind on the other hand has multiple areas that are very hard to skip. The first room, the prison center where you save the marines, bridge right before the final area when the drones spawn, and the white elites at the very end of the mission that can only be killed with a plasma pistol and luck.
GeoStreber I don’t play halo like a speed runner because that isn’t fun. I fight through the missions like normal and these two missions are terminal cancer on legendary if you actually fight.
Ok let me clarify... in my experience, sacred icon is mostly slippable with arbiter's active cloak, and no need to kill any enemies till the end, which is probably the hardest part of the mission. Quarintine zone is half in vehicles, making it fairily easy to either rush through it, or tank your way through the enemy. (Just dont get hugged by an enforcer) all the parts that you aren't in a vehicle, ive been able to stealth past. (The real trouble is not getting lost). Then once you reach the gondala, so many energy swords spawn, that you can give all your elite companions energy swords, and then it becomes a cakewalk So i would say those two missions are farily easy, at least for me Gravemind however has no vehicles, no cloak, no friends to really help you out, as your marines are practically worthless, and you are fighting a three way war, which is good and bad in some cases. All the enemies are tough, and do i need to say anything about the one shot quick scoper sniper jackals?
I just love how everyone here is doubting 'Cortana' and 'The Library' but having consensus on 'Gravemind'. That level is fucking hard. That prison section... Jeezus.
Genuinely I found The Library one of the easier missions on my Legendary runthrough, the Flood have limited spawns, and you can manipulate their spawns very easily. Of course I was taking it slowly, but rather be a pansy than infuriated.
One thing that really helped me with the halo 2 citadel mission was dual wielding needlers the entire mission along with using brute shots and energy swords.
I 100% agree with this list, but I personally believe that the Pillar of Autumn mission in halo reach should be on this list. What makes the pillar of autumn hard is that first you fight every covenant Troop, from hunter, elites, brutes, buggers, etc..... The reach AI are extremely intelligent, especially on legendary. When ur low on heath, the elites/ brutes will rush you, and they dodge every gernade u throw at them😫 All of this mixed in with tight corners, open field with jackel snipers, and endless survival rounds. Did I mention you have to fight a elite Marshal and countless generals. Also there are banshee’s, scarabs, phantom’s, ghosts, wrath’s, and u get a mongoose, and driveable trucks😂😂 Tbh Emily is useless on legendary, he can’t die but can get a kill either
When I did my legendary run through Reach the final bit was brutal. I was out of ammo, got a crappy checkpoint, and had no guns nearby. It took me 4 hours to beat the final portion of reaching Keyes.
Dude i remember once on Reach, there was a weekly challenge for Legendary All Skulls On for the last mission, Pillar of Autumn. After about 3 hours of grinding with me and my friend playing on Guest, and after Emile's death, we finally beat the level... I hit my trusty xbox home button to check the time, wherein my xbox froze. It fucking froze. I literally cried. No, we did not get the challenge, as many of you know you have to end the cutscene or watch it all for it to count.
My strategy is just book it over the bridges, just go as fast as possible, ignore half the enemies, only fire when necessary, and book it hard because once you get through the door they will get off your back, but you might have to mop up a straggler or two but you should be fine
@@tenghiskhan2063 My strategy was to steal a banshee and maneuver it through the entire level, you can literally get it into every single room, and use its weapons to just dump on everything.
I have to say the library was one of the easier missions when playing through Halo CE on legendary. Sure it's a drag but you have a much harder time with truth and reconciliation/two betrayals.
5:30 I have been playing through the WHOLE halo series and I found this part while my dad fought XD. Adding to the jumping part you can actually jump onto each other instead of using a gernade
Me and my brother almost gave up trying to beat 2 on legendary because the first level was so hard. After that it's do-able, but jackal snipers WILL kill you... a lot
I found the Library to be rather normal in difficulty when you learn to never stop moving forward. Once I learned they spawn less if you keep moving it wasnt so bad at all.
That only applies for the long hallways with the big blue screens though. The other parts of the mission you actually have to take your time and not move too fast otherwise you'll trigger more spawns than you would like to deal with at a time. That mission takes some planning and knowhow, but if you've got that, it's not a difficult mission at all, shotgun just helps you big time.
I feel like the very first mission in Halo 2 is also very tough. Mostly those parts with the Covenant boarding craft - you have very limited ammo, and on legendary it just keeps pouring elites out onto you.
sansicle 666 I like it, it’s 343s second version of the halo adaptation and they did a much better time the second time the story was cool but I like firefight style games so it was a good story for me atleast much better than halo 4s story and the arbiter was in it.
I don't remember the name, but there was this one that had like these 2 machines and you had to turn them off, or on, or explode them or something. That one took me hours, i didn't know wtf i had to exactly do until like 2 hours in. It was like 10 years ago that I played it so don't remember exactly the mission's name or plot other than that part.
I remember it took me and my friend 3 hours to beat Cortana on legendary. We eventually beat the game but this level was a nightmare. But Halo 3 is the best
Yeah those things that shoot you on the walls and scatter around like ants gotta be the most annoying enemy in all of Halo. Gravemind is sooo much harder, almost gives me PTSD thinking about that damn mission.
7:42 Did you really just call them hunter flood? There's no such thing as hunter flood, hunters are made of individual worms. Those are pure flood forms in tank form, not infected.
I still remember these videos about halo those were good times back then and now it’s different and it’s been over 2 year since I probably watched these videos I miss those types of videos I hope he starts doing these types of videos again here and there
Hypothetically, the final mission of halo reach has to be the hardest mission in the game. Due to the fact that the final objective is to survive and no one has succeeded in doing that.
Yeah I conserved and carried the flamethrower through alot of it for the easy tank and occasional shooter kills. Brute shot melee made it more bearable.
It's funny, on Heroic (my favourite difficulty), I find the ship segment of Truth and Reconciliation way harder than anything in the library, largely because the Halo CE: Shotgun can easily be dropped by flood and that the flood in general has dumber AI than the Covenant, which can be exploited on Heroic. Find a good choke point for your shotgun, use the infamous CE pistol to pop carrier forms from afar, and generally even the 'spawning from behind' BS can be dealt with by wheeling round and pumping slugs into them. Not to mention the sentinels are actually useful on Heroic. Meanwhile, Heroic T&R's behind-spawn BS is generally with elite-led troops of grunts and jackals, which are fucking smart compared to flood AI on Heroic, and the invisible sword elites consistently blindside me. Also for whatever reason I think Keyes' AI is somehow stupider on Heroic than Legendary because the motherfucker was always dying for me. However all that shit fucking pirouettes out the window on Legendary. There, if a shotgun flood is around, it'll kill you before your shitty assault rifle stands a chance, the sentinels drop like flies and will sometimes _kill you with their death explosions,_ there's no grenades, infection forms actually hurt, carrier forms are way better at blindsiding you, and if you manage to get a shotgun, there's likely 3 shells in there tops. Even the CE pistol can't save you on Legendary library. Only pure luck.
T&R's is the hardest mission in the Halo saga on legendary, I can't believe most people don't say this. There's not one point in that mission it gets easy, it's ridiculously long, the spawns are just incredibly unfair, your marines are shit, if you don't have sniper ammo when you first enter the ship you are seriously fucked, that first bit on the ship is almost impossible the amount of waves they throw at you, then on top of that you get 2 hunters to kill, and if they manage to kill you, you have to restart the whole bit again. The checkpoints are terrible, that it gives you serious anxiety because you know if you fuckup you have to retry about 5-10 minutes of gameplay, and on top of that what happens? You have to escort Captain Keyes who is about as tough as a grunt. Horrible horrible mission on legendary. I seriously didn't find Cortana or Gravemind that difficult, yet people always talk about them, I find it really strange, T&R was a personal nightmare for me, I must have died about a 100 times.
I just finished T&R on heroic and holy moly that ship section is rough. The very first room with the invisible sword elites must have taken me 20+ tries.
I think assault on the control room was really difficult. I remember struggling to get past it on normal. It was a really long mission and had a lot of difficult sections
Cortana isn't actually as hard as people make it out to be. It's definitely less repetitive than the Library and there's a tonne of active camo's around the place that make speed running it a breeze.
Andrew Ford For Speed runners, yes, but for a person who doesn't know where they all are, or isn't so consistently able to make all the trick jumps on the mission or knows where to pop the inivisibility, the active Camo doesn't carry you nearly as far.
These missions are hard! You know what's not hard? Subscribing to Luke TheNotable!

I'm glad someone had mentioned that, in fact I think TaR is harder than the Library tbh.
There actually not too bad compared to halo 2 legendary only game aside from boredom 5 fartians I haven’t finished on legendary
Aidan Bennett I started halo 5 on legendary... stopped when I almost ran out of ammo on the first mission like 10 times.
As soon as I saw the video I knew one mission was guaranteed to be here:
The Library
It took me so long, it caused me so much pain, it was so confusing
At multiple areas I got lost, blinded, overwhelmed, shot by rockets, hit by nades, blown up by phat bois
It sucked
I was stuck on it for 2 months... either it's hard or im bad!
I watched this speedrun video and ended up beating it in 30 mins definitely helped a lot was kinda frustrating though on the second floor
Tbh the library isn’t very hard it’s just long and repetitive
Textbook Gaming easy? I think you’re just bad at the game in general
Foster7 productions it might be the latter :/
I struggled the most with the area where sniper jackals spawn indefinitely, I think it's in the mission Metropolis.
There's like 10-12 jackals in that mission, I had to stop and look up if I was doing something wrong but they stopped appearing eventually
@@RubyWeapon07 yup they do eventually. Requires patience and 20ish minutes of focus and perfectly placed shots.
There aren't any Flooded Hunters. You're thinking of Tanks.

Midnight in Halo 4 is, to me, the hardest mission in the game. The bridge you have to cross while getting swarmed with crawlers was frustrating and rage-inducing.
Berry Goosey I was able to beat it w/o dying on heroic
I was referring to it on legendary. On heroic I bet you'd have an easier time with the crawler bridge.
Kill a bunch before going down and when you do use an auto sentry and dont stop sprinting.
Berry Goosey pop autosentry, sprint.
The library is the reason I have not replayed legendary halo 1 in almost 10 years

@@thelizardking3807 You just need to know all the tricks that despawn enemies or grenade jump to skip sections.
@@wolfplayer7815 if you don’t want to do it legitimately then sure

Only thing hard about library is the rocket floods that are hard to see in the dark. In which case I find Two Betrayals harder.
Cortona on legendary can be 80%walked through without shooting
I prefer the pistol to the AR to be able to hit flood from far away, but that too is abundant.
On Normal difficulty, Assault on the Control Room from Halo: CE. Today, I got so unbelievably mad that I broke a headset over the lack of healing items.
I past all Halos on legendary , except for 4,2 and some levels of CE. Cuz keyes,Assault on the Control room, the Maw and TWO BETRAYALS ARE SOOO HARD ON EVEN EASY FOR ME,HARDER THAN HALO 2
to be honest two betrayals is way harder than the library
5:01 Watching you waste shotgun ammo against the flood infection forms is painful.
Yes thats so funny
There is so much shotgun ammo in that level, there is no reason not to spam it.
Against waves upon waves of infection forms, I would use the Assault Rifle. Just spray from side to side, and it would probably work pretty well.
The hardest mission in all of Halo is Halo 2 on legendary difficulty

In Halo 3, against the Flood, I always use dual-wielded Plasma Rifles and an Energy Sword. Is it a good combination?
Honestly, it's not as bad as you might think
It actually sounds pretty good. The plasma rifle can easily knock the ranged forms and another ranged flood while a more aggressive flood can be killed with the energy sword in one hit.
Yeah I'll suggest a change tho. The flood can 1 hit you so close range might not be best, maybe instead of a energy sword, maybe a battle rifle. Also, t h e s h e i l d s
David Paulo from what I’ve found the brute shot really tears the flood to hell.
my go-to loadout for battling flood in Halo 3 is one plasma rifle and an energy sword.
Yeah, cortana, for me, was almost impossible to solo on legendary. I needed help to finish the mission.
I agree, Cortana mission. Not hard but, just a big damn pain in the ass!
Haven't actually passed cortana and its been well over 9 years, flood was just too scary to me as a chile (same with halo 2 but it was the arbiter mission that introduced the flood but I completed it a few months ago along with the rest of the campaign)

The fight with Regret was the hardest Halo fight I've ever had and I was in co-op with the Scarab skull
Halo Reach's Pillar Of Autumn on Heroic, it could be harder on legendary but holy hell, how did I not break something
I honestly don't even remember if I did it on Legendary, because Heroic was already a nightmare.
sonifay I tried a heroic run, by game was scratched and everytime I beat the mission it crashed...
i vaguely remember getting all the way to the part where you have to shoot the space cannon and finding that the hardest part of that level by far. was like 7+ years ago. on legendary
I just went through all of them (reach -> 3) and TaR gave me the most trouble out of almost all of the levels
About TaR. Let me guess... The moment you enter the ship and about 5 elites with swords come after you.
This is countered by multiple rocket launcher spawns but jumping INTO the pulse generators also wipes your shield in 3 parts of the map.
halo 3's mission cortana brings back painful memories
Cortana isn’t too bad the second time playing it cause u can just run through it, other that the core bit which is tricky, I wouldn’t put it above missions like Tsavi highway or quantine zone.
Bits that’s just my opinion.
@@tommunism8778 tsavo highway is honestly one of the easiest missions to speed run. The only problem is the shield generator at the end but I certainly wouldn’t put Tsavo Highway as more difficult than say Regret or Two Betrayals

You need to and I mean need to play Gravemind co-op on legendary
It will test your ability to not strangle each other
Honestly I think that "Sacred Icon" and "Quarantine Zone" were harder than "Gravemind"
Yea they are hard if you play them the way the developers intended you too
GeoStreber I don’t play halo like a speed runner because that isn’t fun. I fight through the missions like normal and these two missions are terminal cancer on legendary if you actually fight.
Have you tried gravemind sacred icon and quarantine zone on legendary?
Stupid fat sniper jackals are the worst...
Then once you reach the gondala, so many energy swords spawn, that you can give all your elite companions energy swords, and then it becomes a cakewalk
So i would say those two missions are farily easy, at least for me
Gravemind however has no vehicles, no cloak, no friends to really help you out, as your marines are practically worthless, and you are fighting a three way war, which is good and bad in some cases. All the enemies are tough, and do i need to say anything about the one shot quick scoper sniper jackals?
I just love how everyone here is doubting 'Cortana' and 'The Library' but having consensus on 'Gravemind'. That level is fucking hard. That prison section... Jeezus.
I just got to Gravemind and happened to watch this video. I'm glad there's a consensus, literally feels impossible even on heroic
11:48 "if you die I'm breaking up with you" LOL
Noticed it after reading this
Genuinely I found The Library one of the easier missions on my Legendary runthrough, the Flood have limited spawns, and you can manipulate their spawns very easily.
Pyrnicious I agree
Trying to snipe enemies with his shotgun.
I agree, AI in reach was very intelligent. You could spend hour on the same lvl, even in co-op
Regret was without a doubt the most painful mission in any halo game for me

Totally agree and the part with the drones are always little cocksucker's in any Halo on legendary
It feels good to clear out all the enemies simply because they’re so tough you really feel like Master Chief or Mighty One killing them all.
I feel like the very first mission in Halo 2 is also very tough. Mostly those parts with the Covenant boarding craft - you have very limited ammo, and on legendary it just keeps pouring elites out onto you.
Sword elites on legendary give me PTSD that's why I never play Halo 2 alone.

I remember it took me and my friend 3 hours to beat Cortana on legendary. We eventually beat the game but this level was a nightmare. But Halo 3 is the best
All you have to do is have someone sit behind a corner and the other run out, and kill as many flood as possible until death. Rinse and repeat.
Yeah those things that shoot you on the walls and scatter around like ants gotta be the most annoying enemy in all of Halo. Gravemind is sooo much harder, almost gives me PTSD thinking about that damn mission.
Our strategy was to have one person hang back as an anchor while the other just sprinted for the exit. Took 20 minutes to beat the level that way
I've really been enjoying your videos. Old and new. Keep up the great work!
Nope. Just replayed CE. Library isn't hard.... not at all. Pistol, shotgun, grenades.
Cody Sherstan fuck yes, thank you. Finally somebody said it
Cody Sherstan Library is just such a long mission
Giovick true, it is just long and tedious but I feel like people mistake boring as fuck as hard. 😂
The mission afterwards was so much harder IMO
Yeah library is one of the easiest
7:42 Did you really just call them hunter flood? There's no such thing as hunter flood, hunters are made of individual worms. Those are pure flood forms in tank form, not infected.
I still remember these videos about halo those were good times back then and now it’s different and it’s been over 2 year since I probably watched these videos I miss those types of videos I hope he starts doing these types of videos again here and there
“There are no shielded flood”
*Halo 2 would like to know your location*
Good job he specified the mission when saying that line, and then proceeded to talk about shielded flood when referring to Halo 2 - Gravemind.
Hypothetically, the final mission of halo reach has to be the hardest mission in the game. Due to the fact that the final objective is to survive and no one has succeeded in doing that.
When you beam up to Truth and Reconciliation, that whole group(s) of Elites that keep spawning. That one part is such a pain.
@Obi Wan Jacoby me too. Just wish I could pass that damn part.
The mission Cortana was literally the only reason I didn't beat Halo 3 on legendary. I don't know how many hours I spent on it.
It was hard asf and annoying but i eventually passed it keep going homie i believe in you
@@xxlookalive239x3 I'm assuming plasma rifles and energy swords are your preferred weapons on Cortana Legendary?
livirus i used the energy sword and elite carbine rifle with the cloaking ability that was the best method for me
livirus and if you can i would try to avoid any fighting with the flood until you absolutely have too
Yeah I conserved and carried the flamethrower through alot of it for the easy tank and occasional shooter kills.
“Master chief, peace be upon him” lmao
The USA is the most diverse place ever
Cortana level- hold my beer
I think assault on the control room was really difficult. I remember struggling to get past it on normal. It was a really long mission and had a lot of difficult sections
It definitely is a hard stage
Truth And Reconciliation was a pain in the ass, God I hated that mission.
For the small flood, a rocket launcher is the best.
creeper1ruler and the jury of nine That is beyond overkill
For a lot of them its perfect.
Assault rifle
I honestly think the shotgun flood are an underrated enemy and never get mentioned. They are pretty deadly in close quarters
“I am a monument to all your sins”
Best line in halo hands down
How about "Your destruction is the will of the gods, and I, I am their instrument." (I probably got this wrong so just correct me if I did).
I was on normal and I was mowed down by everything and BTW don’t shoot the bubbles... :/
I agree,I beat the par time on legendary on my first try
