I love my fridge food storage containers! The only thing I do differently is I put my open packages towards the front so they don't get lost in the back.
Re: Primal Palate - you're right. The founder pronounces it that way in a video on their website. Kinda wanna know how the other person pronounces it though, I enjoy saying things intentionally different than intended from time to time. 🤪
Saaaaame! How exactly are these other people pronouncing it? Christine, Primal Palate are a couple who got popular when Paleo started becoming a popular eating style.
@@OhHeyLiana The only thing I can think of is mayyybe "pre-mal," like before it was bad, thinking its back to organic/healthy or maybe they missed the first a in 'palate' and thought it was 'plate'...? But both seem like a stretch. Haha!
Hey I would love another video on what you eat in a week - ‘more vegetable’ version, since you said you were all feeling so much better and sleeping better, etc. Great video as always Christine! I think it’s Primal just like you said it.
I can’t keep cheese in my house. My family eats it faster than I can buy it and we’re only a family of 4. I have no idea how larger families can keep anything in the fridge
I never want to spend the money on clear bins for the fridge (because I’m cheap like that and on limited funds lol), but watching these videos makes me want to buy some! Then I get to the store and can’t bring myself to spend the money on them. The struggle is real! 😂
My struggle is fit. Because of the space layout of the kitchen in our new-to-us home, we opted for a counter-depth refrigerator. I found those great bins at Costco, too, but...they are too big/long for the fridge. I use them in my pantry, but am jonesing to find ones that will fit MY fridge.
You know, with all the videos I have watched, I have seen that counter covered, SO MANY TIMES. Omg, I need it. So much space! Watching you put everything on it, nearly made me squee.
While you were wiping your fridge I was getting frustrated cause I was like why won't she wipe that thing off then I realized it was on my screen -_- lol
While tomatoes will last a little bit longer in the fridge, cold storage destroys the flavor in tomatoes. Store them on the counter for better flavor! Also, consider moving your milk outta the door. It will last longer, as the doors are the warmest place in the fridge.
Try putting anything that is already opened, towards the front. Like the already cut onion, so you don’t cut another until you use the first or the open cream cheese in the front and the unopened boxes behind them. It’s super helpful when I do that in my fridge, so I don’t have a bunch of the same thing open. Love the way the fridge looks though and the leftover area! That’s helpful too!
Great project! Here's 3 things though: 1. OMG I love your fridge. What kind is it? Looking for a new one for our kitchen. 2. The answer to your question is... Trick question, because obviously there can never be too much Laughing Cow cheese. 3. If you want extra room in your fridge, try leaving your tomatoes in a nice bowl or basket on the counter. Refrigeration changes the texture.
When placing things in the fridge (like the cheese draw with the cream cheese/small amounts of cheeses in bags for example) make sure to place all the opened or close to expiration date items at the front so you see them first and use them first. And with cheese like the laughing cow I say keep them in the original container so you have the expiration dates of them unless you know you will eat them all WAY before the expiration dates.
I organized my fridge like this & I feels SO grown up putting away my veggies. I'm so glad you put the snacking cheese in a separate container. I did that & added any other "snacks" like mini guacamole or applesauce. Makes it easy to add to a lunch bag or for a quick snack.
Two words: cheese fondue. 😄 I have a basket for the condiments like curry pastes, and for dairy. Makes it so easy to take things out and give the fridge a quick wipe.
I put open sliced cheese & deli meat in clear container so easy to make lunch. I put cheese sticks together in round tall clear deli container & colored hard boil eggs in egg carton all on same shelf for lunch preparation. I color eggs so we all know they are cooked. Had a few mishaps with thinking raw eggs were cooked. Clear container are great to see everything.
All the odds and ends of blocked cheese that i buy go together in a ziploc bag in the freezer and when i decide to make mac n cheesei grate it all up and use it....
The door i corral like items & have designated shelf sections for condiments. Salad dressings in bottles & tall clear deli container for salad dressing- coffee related items & creamer & chocolate syrup & whip cream. Breakfast items - syrup rolled cinnamon rolls jams & jelly....it keeps things organized & easy to find stuff .
We keep our sodas in the garage too, so you might like what we use that soda holder for. We store our yogurts in it. Think we fit about 6-7 of the Flips in one standing on their side with the label facing out. Helps my husband remember we have them for snacks.
I use to work for the company that makes The Laughing Cow wedges. Left in October 2020 after over 19 years there to pursue other adventures. It is a really neat process how it’s made and packaged!
My hubby is all about the fridge organization. We have egg, bread, can and more!! All the clear sturdy plastic type. We bought ours at BBB. Good luck!! Hope you like them!!
Nice work with the fridge bins! As others have suggested, it would be good to keep a shallow bin in the cheese drawer in front of the unopened cheeses, cream cheeses, and butter, and keep the open-and-on-the-go items there so they don't get lost in the back.
I use the Dollar Store white utensil holders in my delivery section like you have. Cheese sticks get a section, Laughing Cow has its own container, and block cheeses go in the back of the drawer until ready to shred. Lunch meats are on the other side. We have the same drawer as you, so this might help for an idea for all that cheese.
Oh my. I just started this same project about 4 days ago but my refridgerator was filthy and packed with lots of old food. I have been ill and my husband who doesn't care about cleaning anything just threw stuff in and never took anything out. Leftovers from months ago etc. After all the tossing and cleaning I have about 20 pounds of cheese and at least 10 large bags of assorted nuts, lots of sticks of margarine I'll never use and there were eggs with dates from December 2020 (yes I dumped them too). I have purchased and will get more of those clear containers soon. I love them and I hope the bjns will help keep things clean. I designated the leftover section exactly the same place. I have a Maytag and it came with a divider for the large drawer but I will have to see if I can order a new cover because my husband broke that too. Love your videos and delivery.

I did that about 5 months ago, washed down the inside of the refrigerator, cleaned out the bins, replaced the items then the fridge did not get cold again. Weighed the options, then went and bought a new one.
Spot on with the pronouncing harissa. It's fantastic mixed with plain unsweetened yoghurt (with maybe a little lemon or lime and mint) drizzled over lamb :)
Featured snippet from the web... If you hold the egg fat end down, that air pocket has a tendency to rise not completely through the egg, but enough to reach the yolk. By storing eggs fat-end up, the pocket of air stays away from the yolk, and the egg stays fresh longer.
If the containers are stackable you can probably make a second level for your yogurt by stacking then you will add height and they will make room for other dairy that shouldn’t be at the door.
