Cruella's voice actor is incredible, what a despicable and hilarious presence! She was the Disney Villain that freaked me out the most as a child. I had little 101 Dalmatian toys when I was young and when my mom made me clean them up, I would never put the dalmatians in the same box as Cruella because I was afraid she would scare them.
+Annabel Lee One of the things I love most about the character of Cruella is that she is the only Disney villianess who is NOT an actual witch; not in the true sense of the word. She has no super powers and doesn't cast spells. All she really does is bully everyone who crosses her path and drive fast. She's a spoiled rich bitch who is used to geting absolutely everything she wants w/money and intimidation. Cruella actually does have a background. She is the daughter of a very rich man; dead of course who left her an unreasonable amount of money. She is the perfect juxtaposition of fashion plate and scary skeleton; almost as if she was once a model but clearly, her evil ways and uber-greed have taken their toll on her looks from the inside out. Betty Lou Gerson was on two of my favorite 60's sitcoms; The Dick Van Dyke Show and the character of Cruella actually does look like a grotesque version of Betty.

It’s really a testament to Cruella’s pettiness that Roger’s small act of defiance was enough for her to literally pay ex cons to rob their puppies. Especially since she bought the other puppies and if she needed an extra 15 could’ve just bought them. But because Roger said no, she had to prove that no one denies Cruella DeVil
What makes cruella such a cool villain is the fact her and one of the main human leads have a history. They were old school mates. So every interaction they have feels very real, despite cruella taking over the conversation. And they keep it real with each other. Cruella being straight up that they're struggling, and Anita telling cruella about the spots coming in later. She's shown to be human to some while a villain to everyone else. Not many villains can say that. Also her design, voice, and animation is phenomenal.

Cruella De Vil used to always scare me when I was little, including the live action version played by Glenn Close. She is just so insane and psychotic, that she is a freaking nightmare. I'm a huge fan of the character, because of how well Disney has adapted her with their version. She feels so entitled to claiming those Dalmatians, that she will never take no for an answer. If she can't do it the professional way, she'll take extreme measures to still get her way.
When I was 3 this came out on VHS for the first time (around 1991-1992). I would freak out every time my aunt would start singing the Cruella song. And I HATED the part when her car collided with Horace and Jasper's. I don't know why that part scared me lol. I have a tape recording of me as a little kid and my aunt asked me who drives the big red car in the dalmatian movie and then she started singing the Cruella song and I started to cry. Lol!!
She scared me too when I was in elementary. But not just her. Her henchmen too. XD I had nightmares about them attacking my childhood friend in her house. I watched from outside of a window and saw them bash her in her head with their weapons. Then I ran away, and was eventually chased by them in their car through a cornfield.
Me too I remember my parents wanted to take me to the movies when it came out but I didn’t want to go because I was scared that she would pop out of the screen lol

That is a fair point actually. The point I was trying to make, though, was just that we tend to look at things like this through modern eyes, but in the late 50s, early 60s, it really was just taken for granted that you could smoke virtually anywhere, and if anything it was probably seen as rude to tell someone not to. That said, things like butting a cigarette out in a cupcake probably would have been seen as rude in just about any era.
Wes Anderson's _Isle of Dogs_ was bold enough to say something similar, when the main dog Chief says he came from a litter of 9 dogs, but his sisters were drowned...
One of my friends said he could always defend a disney villain's actions. Whether it be the bad guy from Mulan, Mother Gothel, or Jafar. I asked him to defend Cruella. He just couldn't. XD funny. Bet most of us think that when our pen doesn't work and give it a good smack until an absurd amount of ink bursts out and soaks everyone and all calm down and write out while casually talking about the weather. Also, I wish Disney movies would go back to these kinda themes; a good movie with some dark brooding themes not how its watered down and all kid friendly.
She doesn't like Cruella any more than anyone else does. At best, she tolerates her, at worst, she seems to be more than a little afraid of her. It's hard to blame her, tbh, considering the way Cruella treats her. And her husband. And her maid. And the two hired goons Cruella ordered to steal the puppies. And the puppies themselves. And literally everyone she ever comes into contact with. Yeah, if I had a "best friend" who was anything like Cruella, I'd cut her loose and prefer the company of dogs too.
I think anita was as keen to be rid of her as roger and everyone else. she hugged him and told him he was magnificent after this, so clearly she was the opposite of angry. I think anita was terrified of her. cruella just barges into their home all the time, treats the place like its her own, demands they give her their pets and insults people that are in the room and mocks her husband repeatedly. clearly it was just fear that kept anita allowing her into the house
Friends don't barge into your house, berate your loved ones, and mock you. Cruella is a rich entitled bitch who thinks she can bullies others into getting what she wants.
Memory lane never felt so good. I forgot how funny it was when she said BLAST THIS PEN! when I was younger I didn’t know what that met now that I’m older it’s an OMG moment after all these years.
Rewatching all the Disney films in order of release to count down to our wedding, and man, when it got to 101 Dalmatians (which I haven't seen in probably fifteen years, but watched religiously as a child) it blew me away. Cruella is absolutely hilarious and iconic, I used to have no interest but now I'm obsessed! I couldn't stop laughing at this scene, "What a horrid little white rat, EURGH!" 🤣

Yeah cruella devil angrily slammed the door so hard she just broke all the glass on the window.
Me splurging on chicken nuggets and drinks: "how marvellous, how marvellous..."
Me checking my balance: "how perfectly- eurghh!"
Dats what i call rage quit xD
+sparkshadowtiger Even before the phrase was invented, if you think about it... She rage quitted like a queen. xD
ICONIC!!!
Roger is a hero
LMAO, all of them were shook when she appeared
"Why you horrid men"
🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂
Sounds like nearly every feminist today
I thought she said, “Why you high man”
Pongo’s expression from 1:16 to 1:17 is formidable and superlative.
1:15
2:16 Unless if that house is insured, Cruella could have used that torn up check to pay for the property damage that she did.
The voice acting is impeccable.
Anger in Riley's mind in "Inside Out" would have said "Did Roger say the puppies aren't for sale?"
LOL! As a Pixar super fan i salute you with that joke

How I reacted in the morning when I expected bacon and eggs for breakfast, but instead I would find oatmeal and apples on my plate.
glenn close in the live action really did this scene justice
If only i was smart enough as a kid to know how much fun she was having. Her version of the scene scared me.
@ 1:04 probably wins the award for the most relatable villain moment in history 😂😂😂
😂bro she funny af ngl
i always thought she jumped out the window at 2:12 when i was little
Same
Me growing up thinking I’m gonna be a Disney Princess only to become Cruella ❤
I love Cruella de Vil's evil laugh 0:53
I'm surprised Anita ain't a little angry with Roger. It's like "I'd rather lose my best friend than the puppies"
oh yeah a bit like betrayal. Yes, that can be rather heartbreaking
Husband who adores her and dog she loves versus . . . *that.*
What an beautiful villan!!!
Cruella: No spots!!
Nanny: They’ll get their spots just wait and see!
Me: Don’t tell her that, you don’t want to see what she’ll do!
I love Cruella she's so strong and bad
"Roger's songs" 😂
Iconic
0:53 That laugh was reused in the new Chip and Dale movie
Betty Lou Gerson really brought this character to life with her voice. She was just so chaotic, boastful and problematic. So good!
