Cute couple! Their space is very homey. Although I’m not that much of plant person their use makes sense with all the light and airy vibes. It’s kinda of cool that they also Airbnb too! Great space, great use of space especially the dual desks and loved seeing diversity on the series!
What neighborhood in Philadelphia do they feel safe enough to walk around in and they only pay 2k for a bi level 2 bedroom apartment?? Take it from a Philly native, affordability and safety never go together. They literally called it "a diamond in the rough".
I knew someone who rented an amazing bi-level 3 bedroom apartment in a new building for only around $1650 a month. (This was several years ago, so it may be closer to $2K now.) The tradeoff is that it was in a sort of rough part of South Philly. I’m guessing they must have a similar situation to that. There are a lot of fancy new constructions popping up in neighborhoods that are still a bit run down.
If you’re living in a $2k/month home in Philly, you’re living a life of luxury. The cost of living there is so much cheaper than most other major cities. You could find a decent apt for half that price. Just depends where exactly in Philly you want to live. I’m going to assume they probably live in center city or close to it.
Interesting! Because here I was thinking it was a steal... We pay $3000 for a similar (but slightly smaller) space in Toronto and we are not close to downtown (though still on streetcar line and by the lake in a very walkable neighbourhood).
In Philly, it all depends on the level of crime that you're willing to deal with for the affordable price. I live in one of the nicer areas close to the city and for an apartment that size, you're looking at easily 3-4k.

Love their space, I'm glad they used thrifted items throughout. It's good for their finances but great for the planet. Also using his photography and all those plants make it look so cool and beautiful. Very nice couple ❤

I remember because I was thinking about moving to philly during that time, so I thought it was cool Sweet Digs was branching out. As a black woman, I also thought it was good that the series was featuring different types of folks. The couple was very similar to this one. I remember the woman was very beautiful and wondering about her beauty routine. Her boyfriend/fiance also did something eclectic professionally. They lived in an airy and bright apartment like this one. I tried to go back and find the video in the series to fact check myself. However, I couldn't find it. This is what added to my speculation about this being the same couple. Then again, I think Sweet Digs has filmed "updated" Sweet Diggs tours with couples/people they've already filmed previously. However, in those videos they're pretty upfront about that fact and it's integral to the episode. That makes me think maybe I'm just bugging. Could be nothing, but I love a harmless "conspiracy theory". LOL!!

I live here and while I love the area where I live and the relative safety (in comparison to other parts of the city), it’s starting to get pricey. I would LOVE to find a space of this size for the price here but that’s a far-fetched dream lol

Nice apartment but what about privacy? The windows have no curtains or blinds and that freaks me out. Wonder if they have automatic blinds that are encased in the windows.
your home is beautiful! However, spending $2,000 for a rental even a two bedroom apartment is double the price for a Philadelphia native. Being a Philadelphian native it is too much money. Philadelphians are being kicked out because of rising costs that seem affordable for people not from Philadelphia. Even though Philadelphia is one of the poorest cities in America. Please be conscious of this rising problem.

I pay $1400 a month for a 3 bed 2 bath house in philly, decent area too. If u live in a high crime area u can get a whole house for $800
