I love this! The one car to this day I still wish I had. Reminds me of driving mine about 23 years ago😊 that giggle as you went through the gears was exactly how it felt.
5/12/24 I own and drive a black Cherry 1990 base model Eagle Talon with only 18,750 miles on it and purchased it new in 1990, I now use it as my Summer driver, as you can see it been pretty much a garage queen since owning it. The base model did not have a sun roof, no electric windows, no air conditioning, no fog lights, or lower car body molding, no rear window wiper. The car was ahead of its time and price very reasonable compared to other brands at it time. It hard to believe mine is 34 years old and still looking so good and running great.
@@hunter371 I think I paid between $12,000-$13,000 in 1990 for Eagle Talon base model, I had traded a Pontiac Sunbird hatchback for the 1990 eagle Talon.
Had one. Great car until the timing belt slipped and busted the valves right off in the cylinders and wrecked the turbo. Timing belt let got at start up on a very cold morning. Turns out, there was a recall on the timing belt tensioner that hadn’t been done correctly. Put in backwards 😢 by a dealership. No surprise but they didn’t admit to anything. Had to get a whole new motor on me. But loved the car!
Man, I miss my Talon so much. I’ve been looking on FB to another but it’s tough justifying the price of them now considering the issues they tend to have. Even so though, I like to think I’ll have another before I seven out lol! Something about that year that just hits different compared to the 2nd generations. I’ve had both and I’d get a 1G before a 2G. Good stuff dude!
This was the most fun car to drive of the five car collection we represented for the owner this past summer ('93 RX7 FD, '93 Mustang Cobra. '87 Chrysler Conquest, 1987 944 Turbo)... my expectations for the car weren't real high, but it was fast, handled great and was comfortable, just a super cool piece of 80s design. The guy who ultimately bought it on BaT was in Canada... his first 'new car' back in the day? A 1990 Eagle Talon TSi AWD, he wanted to recapture his youth, and did, with this car!
It's not every day U find these cars roaming the streets these days. Good find.

Do you remember what you paid for it in 1990? I'd guess the base model without any options was probably $14K
I wonder how many original owners there are still to this day. I just picked up a 91 talon AWD shell. I’d love to see pictures of yours! Sounds mint

The guy who ended up buying this car after the bring a trailer auction was so happy, his first car was a Talon just like this one back in 1990.
