The Tello is really such a basic drone that can't operate without a phone. It's good to learn some simple functions without damaging an expensive unit. Thanks for your video.

I heard bluetooth is not good with Gamesir and Tello, have you tried using OTG cable? I have the OTG setup but somehow the button mapping is not easily set up. Any help is appreciated.
Hi. You don't need any cable. If you have Gamesir is very easy . Make like that. My English is not very good but I think you understand me. Open your WiFi and app tello. Check your Tello and after open your Bluetooth in phone location and controller. After check pair in Bluetooth. Check in app controller Bluetooth and see your drone. Just click connect and working well.
Great video mate, I just got my gamesir t1s in today, its been charging for about 3 hours and only 2 led lights are on i believe 4 led lights on means its fully charged, is it normal for these t1s controllers to take a long time to charge, how long does yours take to charge
So, there’s no way to operate with just the controller? I keep seeing on Google, “You can operate the Tello without a phone with a game controller”. But I want to use one WITHOUT a phone, not via a phone. Not possible?
Hello From what I know u can't use a controller without the phone, cause u must enter the "tello app" to connect Bluetooth to the controller Hope this helps😊

For better and longer range best is the wifi repeater
It doubles the range and give a better smoother video
You can take off with the controller. You need to press down on the R2 and Y buttons simultaneously.
Pushing down both joy sticks sametime will take off and pushing down the left joy stick, will land the drone. Common controls in all DJI drones.

I use PS4 remote because it has semi-auto pilot already imbedded in controller and thus activates follow me technology in controller.

The down facing sensor needs a visual, not the plain table surface. Put a credit card in the middle of the table, see the difference.

Ok if the app will work. It does not work on Google Pixel android phones. It use to work on my older Samsung android.
did all that, and it still doesn't work. The andriod phone connects to bluetooth, but it won't show up in the tello app
Is GPS on your phone turned on? I couldn't get the app to see the controller unless GPS was on.
