Great video mate 👌 I've been thinking of setting up a drag car, a lot of my questions were answered by your viewers comments and yourself. Looking forward to seeing more on this. Thanks for sharing your video 👍🦘🇦🇺
I love the open wheel look. I’m currently running Mcallister racing tri county with the fenders cut off. But the rules are making me change. Just ordered a 55 nomad wagon body
Yeah I diging on it, Love old school. Looks badass way it sits right now . Appreciate you sharing Josh . Love your updates and stuff. I'll be watching for more
Good to see you getting into rc Drag Racing. Ive been drag racing rc cars for a few years. You will most Likely get hooked lol. Your car looks awesome. Great Job 👍🏻👍🏻
Interested to see how this goes. Love the Trophy Rat body. Got the clear one to use on my pieced together SMT10 build I started several months back. Still haven't painted it up yet, but there's hope for the coming weeks.
Hey Josh, wings create lift to allow something to fly, spoilers create downforce to increase rear grip. That sir, is a spoiler. The truck looks pretty good though.
Rear camber is very important. Even with a lower powered car. I've seen drastically improved launches from 2s Titian 12t powered cars by simply adjusting rear camber. Try setting it for zero during launch compression. Camber only helps cornering.
A LOT of Prep for "No Prep Racing"!!! 😜 Seriously, looks like a ton of fun!! My ONLY experience with Drag Racing had been 1:1 Pro Street, Pro 5.0 and Super Street. The RC version sounds like a blast! I'm sure you'll do well. 👍👍 Merry Christmas🎄🎅 Carmine ✈🚂🚙
1:37 if you remove the seals, it should spin with even less friction? Not good for dusty strips, though. Maybe just remove the seal pointing away from the dirty side? I don't know, just wondering...
If you like gadget's get some tyre warmer's you only need rear's but you could share with a friend, seen this used on indoor drag racing the guy does use them outdoor's also.
I’ve wanted to build one since I saw the JConcepts Fox body Mustang I didn’t want to convert my Pro2 to a drag car and building one from my collection of old slash and bandit parts for the cost might as well buy another slash (I really don’t want another slash) since my local off road track just went from clay to carpet I’m more than likely buying a new B6.1 to race I was thinking of using my old B6D as a drag car just unsure of the mid motor layout and shorter wheelbase
only 2 video? man you must of got busy with nationals prep lol. id love to see some more no prep content on your channel and an update on the car. no prep has just hit my local area and i just bought a Arrow chassis kit. would love to see more videos around the subject and at your high quality level.
no prep refers to the racing surface. In some drag events they prep the surface with traction additive, its almost like glue, no prep is just getting the gravels off the parking lot and racing.
This great, looking forward to the next in this series! My Trophy Rat arrived 2 days ago and I’m completing this build once the rest of the parts arrive, so cool. Question what motor can you recommend? Will the stock ESC be adequate for the recommended motor. Looking to run this in no prep with prevailing rules I.e. 2s and I wanna go fast.
@@barajastony0 I'm not sure, I have tried silly puddy, and it broke down , 500,000 weight, still alows movement for the corners and semi locked up for the straight aways
Not that I have seen for drag racing. I would enjoy the scale of that but I don’t think the performance would be as good. Especially with having to use a 90 degree bevel gear creating torque twist. Would still be fun.
I think a tekin roc412 3100kv runs as fast on 2 cell as a lot of others do on 3 cell im not certain but its something you can check the specs. a guy in our crawler club told us about it a few years ago
KV means RPM per Volt. So it’s a pretty straight forward equation to calculate speed. I’ll be going with a faster motor than that when I change however.
I look forward to seeing what you do for a body, that body looks terrible. Ugly that body doesn't even look like it belongs on that car anymore. But that isn't the best looking body even when the wheelbase looks appropriate so at look forward to seeing what you come up with to give it some style
Might want to look into a suspension limiter for the front to help keep wheelies at bay and rely less on the wheelie bar setup. Hitting the wheelie bars hard enough will unload the rear of the vehicle and making it uncontrollable. Just my .02 love the build!
I was copying the setup the Shultz has been using currently. They’ve been doing so well at the cash day events that I figured it would be a nice starting point.

Great words at the end buddy! Doing what we can to build this hobby!!

The proline ford mustang 5.0 body is nasty too!
JConcepts right?
That’s a great looking truck 👍

Looking good bud when is the next flip this truck
Really hoping to finish it before Christmas.
Great vid mate!!! This is taking off in Australia aswell! Good times! 😊🤙🇦🇺🍻
I love the scales they're amazing

There is a big event this weekend that I’m going to go film.
What wheely bar is that
Coming along nicely dude! 👍
What Bodies can I get that are Direct fits for the T A Rat rod
I would have thought, you'd use the jconcepts fox body mustang body.
I may still pick one up, but we’ll see!
Lookin like a race truck. I like it.
Car is cool. I guess I don't understand the "No Prep" part.
no prep refers to the racing surface. In some drag events they prep the surface with traction additive, its almost like glue, no prep is just getting the gravels off the parking lot and racing.
Pretty much what gabe said.
Gabe Hunt so semi prepped lol. no prep would be just that.
Keep that body....I am using one for a crawler I am building this winter
How much is the budget? Would like to know the car price. Thank you.
Why not use a slipper eliminator
Super cool. Should be a lot of fun. Thank you, this is helpful, I want to try for fun to.
Where did you get the wheelie bars from? Where can I get them

im jacked up about this!
Add 500,000 weight oil to your diff, and 32 pitch gears,
Would silicone ear plugs work?

@@jonathanadame9117 being silicone It might just work and no mess with the oils
Does the DB10 come with regular bearings or bushings?
Regular bearings
Looks good man 👍
looks awesome. reminds me of matts tractor.
Sick looking rig🤙
does anyone make an RC chassis with a solid rear axel?

I have this truck it’s awesome. STOCK NOT A DRAG. BUT VERY VERY KOOL
Now you need to trailer it around with a crawler
Do they use gyros in rc drag racing or is that considered cheating?
Most do not allow them. I know we don't.
Steering aids are not allowed per the rules, but of course some clubs may differ.

I live in Hawaii and I’m building my slash

ReinersRigs ... that is something many 1:1 racers find out expensively lol
@@morfeophantasm7435 that's why I love RC bc theres a correlation between them and 1:1.
@@ReinersRigs hell yea ! I want to build a 55 chevy gasser style . ;p
You know a VP invitational warehouse drag night wouldn't be a bad idea.
Trust me, you don’t want to hang around our area late at night with a bunch of nice things 😁
Stole Xzibits rhythm in the beginning lol
paint the headers
Drag race RC setup use ceramic bearings to reduce Drag lol
I love the scales they're amazing
