Back in the 90's they held a couple of big rave parties in that building. Totally epic!
But the space between the platfor and the train is large they have to raise the platforms to the level of the train step in at the door.

Park Station has changed a lot over times. It was many years back I used to explore the place with my girlfriend. Video is quite good. I hope you will one day make video on Krugersdorp and Randfontein Railway Station once was thriving with old metro trains and good people but now I dunno. One day Ill return...

Only UA-camr who can pick up that there’s actually more good than bad in SA❤ Danko🙏🏼 I stayed in Jewel City in 2022, enjoyed it. It was actually safer than people make it to be. In 2023, I worked in Sandton while staying in Rooderpoort, I never felt unsafe either with a Laptop even😄 DON’T BELIEVE THE HYPE AND JUST BE CAREFUL, OF COURSE.

The new Prasa color and logo looks upmarket and smart. Including the train color and design.
Just hope the people maintain and report anyone who tries to vandalise it
Only thing is for Prasa to make the stations more upmarket, safe and neat...that will have a ripple effect on surrounding areas. And I'm 100% sure people will start to use and it will become what the underground is to London

I've read to avoid Metro for tourists. Is this true. Do any white people use it?
Yes, you can use it in Cape Town (they have a first class section called Metro Plus which is very safe), in Johannesburg it depends on the line. The line from Park Station to Soweto is safe to use during peak hours. I have lived in Johannesburg a few years ago and used it a few times with visitors from abroad.

THANK YOU UA-cam AND DAVID FOR SHOWING US NEW WORLD CLASS PARK STATION .I TRAVELED FROM PARK STATION TO MZIMHLOPHE STATION BEFORE 1994 .PARK STATION WAS DULL AND BORING THEN .ANC IS REALLY DOING SOMETHING WE NOT TOLD ABOUT BY SOUTH AFRICAN MEDIA HOUSES .YOU CAN'T HIDE THE DEVELOPMENT DONE BY THE RULING BECAUSE TECHNOLOGY IS MORE ADVANCED.
this is such a lame station its barely connected to it self and as you show its just got a parking lot, so its made for cars not people
