Steering wheel is mounted upside down on his Beetle. That would drive me frickin nuts, its an OCD thing, my eyes drew to it instantly. I love the older Beetles. Had a bunch through our used car dealership as a kid. I love the white interior parts, the shelf, roof rack, etc. My dad worked at a VW Dealership in the 60-70's. Very good artist though! I'd love to have a painting in my living room like one of those!
mytmousemalibu my dream car is a beetle, they are cheap and easy to work on, parts arent overly expensive and i dont care about fast cars cause its a fun car, fun cars dosnt need to be fast
That grin on your face is why I love classic cars. I also love classic bicycles. Nothing beats a beetle more than a superconfex colnago master with campagnolo groupset. Great video
Dear Manuel, Your short film was beautifully shot and more than inspiring. We all yearn to feel what you feel and the balance you maintain in your life. YOUR short film AND life is "Simply Art"! Thank you. Your life and view of things should be a lesson to all. I thank god there are still people like you that are humble enough and selfless enough to share such great work-your film, your art, and all the messages within them. Beautiful. I love the deep amber head lights...
+John Pfeufer Wow JOhn reading this was my best birthday present (its today). O love it seeing that this life style Im trying to keep is inspiring for someone. Thanks so much for your words. Those inspire as well.
I don't know what I liked more - the car, that Manu gets to chase his dream, his paintings, the awesome video quality, the music, what! I think I liked - all of it!
+Enrico Palazzo Hey man. Thanks for writing! Yeah, unfortunately its sold. I have a few for sale, and work commissioned as well. Please write me to manuelfcampa@gmail.com and we´ll get to work!
I remember driving my uncle's 1958 Beetle. It was the early 70's in downtown Mobile, Alabama. It was July with humidity and temp in the 90's. It drove pretty well considering the age and mileage on this original Bug. I would have bought that car from him, although he lived 750 miles from our house. The two things I remember him saying that day, "If a car is well designed it doesn't need power steering" and "If the engine is in the rear you really don't need air conditioning". Now, many years later I agree with him on the steering. Without power steering you get better feedback about what the front wheels are doing. Now the installation of an electric motor to assist gives the best of both worlds. Hydraulic power steering to me feels like I am driving on ice. Now having the engine in the rear is not the norm. And air cooling is not acceptable with emissions as tolerances have to be wider to allow for expansion during warm up. But having the engine behind you allows all that heat to follow you, rather than driving through it. I enjoyed driving that old Beetle. It made great sounds that can only be appreciated by the ears of true gearhead car nut. No it wasn't fast, but it made these sounds that made you feel good 👍. It really was a delightful experience that I remember over forty years later. I won't go into the smells it generated, too.
The Beetle, a timeless classic in beautiful condition. I'd love to see it when the rear window has been restored back to the original oval shaped one. As one who appreciates cars for more than their transit ability, I most certainly appreciate your paintings. Wonderful, keep up the fantastic work.
Petrolicious, you never disappoint! I have to say old bugs are some of the funnest cars to drive. I have a 1963 that has painted up to look like Herbie and it gets more attention then the new 991 GT3RS. I also live this guys work, great job!
I like that net under the dashboard. Once again petrolicious killed it with the editing! When he was painting his signature with the rolling shots in the background, very nice
I love air cooled VWs. Loved since I was a kid. Then, there were plenty to see them around, but not anymore. I raise my hat for the man, who have Typ 1 Volkswagen as his daily driver. Also, Mr. Campa's art is really interesting for a car guy like myself.
I really don't understand how anyone can give this video a thumbs down? Their probably jealous of the gift you have. Beautiful work. This is a very well thought out video, with top notch camera work, great paintings, and of corse a wonderful little car that I wish I had one just like it. I give it an enthusiastic thumbs up !

Great video. The ending sequence (4:45) is superb.
They are fun cars to drive and for me I love the way they look.
Some hidden some not so hidden, but the messages are there in every video with a passionate owner. If only I could live that hidden message.
What a great video, that's what life with a classic is about! Putting a smile on your face and enjoying life for what it is. Incredible work too!
