This saree is known as Dhakai MUSLIN....... This saree was common among the riches in Bengal..... The Britishers used to take this saree from bengal..... But due to its transparency it was considered as nudity by the uncultured britishers and they imposed kind of ban on the making of this saree..... This was Bengal Heritage...... The main test was passing the entire saree by a Finger Ring....... But this got lost with the time....... Thank you for bringing it back.......

I heard about " match box sari" from my " grand mother" and at that time, it was great prestige to have this . At that time, match box size was about one third smaller than this this " wimco homelight ' match box. I still guess how it was..?

"PAITHANI" sari of Maharashtra (preferred wearing at auspicious occasions like marriage)is known to come in matchbox since years. Muslin of Bengal had the same light weight properties.
