    The original threads are rolled on the bolt. That bolt you recut is much weaker. It might be ok for a bumper bolt. I would not use it on a steering or brake component. By the way that is a 20 TPI bolt.

      All it is going to be used for is a tire changer. I'll mount it in a vice and hold the tire down while I separate the bead.
