Extending threads on 1-1/2" 6 TPI bolt on Atlas lathe. Part Two

Dare I present my opinion on the 29 degree compound setting for threading? Whatever works for you, these opinions are my own.

The original threads are rolled on the bolt. That bolt you recut is much weaker. It might be ok for a bumper bolt. I would not use it on a steering or brake component. By the way that is a 20 TPI bolt.

All it is going to be used for is a tire changer. I'll mount it in a vice and hold the tire down while I separate the bead.
