Instead of using the liquify tool for the streaking part in the beginning I'd recommend Filter>Blur>Motion Blur [Angle at 90 degrees, Distance 1000]. That can help prevent doing so much work in the liquify tool.
I think I got the fix for the black screen after Liquify! If you move the pixels a lot away from the actual canvas bounds while liquifying, it will turn black. Carefully moving the pixels a little outside the canvas bounds worked almost 100% for me. Didn't need to tweak the performance settings. By the way, your tutorials and videos are pretty amazing! Keep creating!
Great tutorial, im trying to follow these steps but my “pin edges” option is greyed out. How can I fix this? I’ve looked online and I tried enabling my GPU through preferences but still no luck.
This is SUCH an awesome tutorial. I actually didn't have a clue how to increase the images DPI until today! Thanks! I'd like to try to do this with with various other colors - do I need to start with a transparent background?
where could I go and show a picture of an agate glitter pattern I purchased. I would like to learn how to design my own, but I can't seem to find the correct video. Any help would be appreciated. thanks
You can find free gold textures on my website, check the description for those. I sometimes add supplemental assets for some tutorials but since the intended viewer of this channel is learning how to use design tools I thought the tutorial would be most helpful to that person.
I was watching this for like the 100th time today and I discovered something-- when you do liquify, if you use the pinch tool and make like a small size brush and brush it back and forth in zig-zags following the lines of the streaks, it makes them not as smooth and it looks more like natural rock!
I love the work! Can you explain why after I select Photoshop > preferences > Performance > Drawing Mode: Normal, the image remains black? The marble effect does not appear
When you make the design in liquify, don't go too far outside the edges of the canvas. The further off canvas you push your design the less likely it is to render properly. Once it's black, you have to start over or command+z | Ctrl+z until you get back to your starting point before the liquify tool. Let me know if this is helpful 😀
Yes, you can use the offset filter to make it seamless. To get rid of the seam the offset tool creates use the patch tool working in small sections. This is the best way I’ve found to make complicated patterns into seamless textures. With this one it will take some patience because of all the flowing lines.
I've been searching for this type of agate texture tutorial for a long time. Thank you so much!! Can you make a tutorial to create a seamless vector liquid marble in illustrator. Struggling to make it repeatable in illustrator.
Hi Mercedes I am a new subscriber. I am really enjoying your videos. I am wondering do you use a Wacom tablet and drawing pen to do your designs or are you using a Mouse the old fashion way?
I show you how to do it in this video ua-cam.com/video/2W-ZZCpSbCU/v-deo.html the only difference is that I made the pattern larger than the design that way when I scale it doesn’t lose detail.
You don’t necessarily need pin edges, you can work from the center out to the edges of the canvas. Just don’t go too far outside the canvas or your results will turn black.
I'm having the same problem, screen turning black. I changed the advanced settings (preferences >performance > advanced settings > basic/normal) but still the screen is turning black. can you help me?
Someone else mentioned that if you don't go too far off the canvas it won't turn black, it's worked for me. Give that a try and see if it helps. If you need to push it further go back into the liquify tool a second time.
Make sure you are on RGB 8 bit for starters, check your graphics preferences, I show you how to do that in the tutorial. Liquify is very sensitive on GUI and graphics card compatibility. If that doesn't help I found this from Adobe helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/kb/filter-effect-issues.html
Ya que se transmite a todo el mundo, y latinoamerica, lastima que no tiene subtitulos en español. Esta interesante el video, pero no entiendo mucho. Gracias-Buenos Aires.

I tried it and its doesnt look good.
With liquify you have to do additional work but its worth it
I am using Photoshop CS6 and I don't have any problems following your lessons. Very interesting designs.

Not yet but I will add it to my list

Is there a way to make this a seamless image? Like in a half-drop repeat?

I just bought 3 of your graphics packs. I'm excited to see what I can build from them. I love your designs!
Thank you Aelisha! That’s awesome 😊
Can I flip that so it's horizontal instead?
Thank you for your tutorials. They are very helpful🙏

Thanks for subscribing! I use a Wacom to speed up the process but this can be done with a mouse with the same results.
@@PrettyWebzMedia I finally bought myself a wacom tablet. Though still learning how to use it.
🙂 Thank you. I’m going to try this one last time, hopefully it works.
I hope so too!

Pin edges is greyed out, is there something I did wrong?
I can't adjust the pressure in the bloat tool. It's greyed out for some reason. :(

my streaks are not smooth they stay graining like the fibers when i apply the liquify, any suggestions? @prettywebz
Reduce the variance and up the strength, try to get as much contrast as you can before you go into the liquify tool.
0:50 I have published photos at 1 PPI. Makes no difference.
It's doesn't work!((
Is it the liquefy filter? What’s not working for you?
