  • Always wanted a KitchenAid washer and now finally have one when I wasn’t looking for it. Praise JESUS. He is risen !
    Edit:
    This video took a day and a half just to upload it once I was in a place with more cell towers. It finally picked up.
    I must’ve been distracted because I did not realize that I set the machine for an extra rinse because I could not understand why the fabric softener did not empty…oops again !

    These are some of the best direct drives Whirlpool ever made. I like how most Kitchenaid direct drive agitators have bigger bases that turn the slower delicate agitation speed into a strong heavy duty speed.

    This is an absolutely gorgeous machine, in beautiful condition. What a coincidence that I found the KitchenAid that I've been hunting for over a decade, and it just so happens to be the one I grew up with. It makes me happy to see several new videos popping up of similar machines being given new homes.

      Thanks ! You know up until just a few years ago i didn’t see too many videos of KitchenAid washers operating. It’s great to see more videos of these thanks largely to Eugene (Lorraine Furniture) doing several videos.
      I wasn’t even looking for this machine . I just happened to be in the area of an appliance parts place I get my parts from and needed to get a new drain pump. By the grace of God I saw it through the window before I walked in. The guy told me it was sitting there for three months because younger folks will pass these machines up for the newer stuff. Fine by me. More for us !
      Anyway, I always wanted a KitchenAid since I first saw these in the late 80s with the five vain blue sure-scrub agitator. Those machines just exuded quality. Whirlpool’s direct competition to Maytag.

      @@patcola7335 Growing up I didn't hear too much about KitchenAid because I was a huge fan of Kenmore and Whirlpool. But now that I've seen this washer in action I like the slow agitation (which I heard is fast agitation on this washer). Now that you have this washer what is your honest take on it. What do you like about the washer and what don't you like about it.

    Please please please!!! Do not remove the agitator in this one! I don’t know what it is, but I’ve never liked the Straight Vane agitators. It just looks like they’re too rough by twisting back and forth and not circulating around like the dual action ones.

    Where’s the high speed agitation?

    • @patcola7335
      @patcola7335  Місяць тому

      The high speed agitation is this first video I did with the full white load. These KitchenAid washers “Fast” speed is actually what would be low on a Whirlpool direct drive. The agitator base is much bigger than the standard agitators in Whirlpool or Kenmore machines. As you can see it takes up nearly the whole bottom of the tub. This is the fastest it goes.

    • @kingofspades531
      @kingofspades531 Місяць тому +1

      It was not needed on KitchenAid models because of the larger fins of the lower agitator. The low motor speed for a Whirlpool/Kenmore is actually the high/normal agitation for a KitchenAid. The result is a quieter, more gentle yet thorough wash, and overall less strain on the transmission and agitator cam/dogs so long as the machine was never overloaded. If this agitator or the original turqoise version is ever transplanted into a WP/KM variant, it has to be a model with a speed control switch so that it's never set to fast speed, because it will ruin the transmission.

      @@kingofspades531 The transmission won't be ruined by running the larger KA agitator at high motor speed. There's no difference in the gears or materials of the transmission of a KA compared to other direct-drives. The motors on the KA models are the difference, with more robust windings and a stronger capacitor.
