Ok I remember the “questions to ask guys” bit because my name is Theo, and it’s not very common. I’m also trans, and when I first listened to the episode, i wasn’t out to my parents or family yet. I almost cried when just said “hey Theo?”, and to this day, i remember it. ah dude i hope he's off ur back by now. when i wanted a guy to stop interacting with me but was also afraid i would provoke him into starting shit with my family, i just became absolutely boring. he'd text me and id reply with the blandest response i could think of. if i stopped texting him out of the blue he'd have grown suspicious so instead i started conversations abt the most boring topics. things u cant hold half a conversation about. from there i started reducing how often id text him back and in a couple months we stopped talking entirely. it was a huge relief. i assume it might be a bit more complicated to do this to a person u know irl, but maybe try the same concept, different methods? this way leaving u would feel like it was his own choice, not one he was "forced" to make to respect ur boundaries like a decent hecking human
