  • In this video, we delve into the distinctions between All-on-4 and All-on-6 dental implant procedures. We demonstrate how All-on-4 implants concentrate in the front of the upper jaw, leading to the need for cantilever bridges, and potentially causing long-term complications.
    Key Takeaways:
All-on-4 implants place emphasis on the front of the jaw, often requiring extended bridges.
"AP spread" measurement determines the extent of cantilevering.
All-on-6 and even All-on-8 procedures offer greater long-term support.
Sinus grafting may be necessary for All-on-6, ensuring back-of-jaw support.
If you're considering dental implant procedures, it's essential to watch this video and understand why having adequate support in the back of your jaw is crucial for long-term success.
Dr. Willardsen and his highly qualified and caring staff offer all the comfort, care and expertise you could ask for.

Do you put your patients in a traditional denture for a few weeks while implants heal and gums heal?

Could you explain what a sinus graft is? Is that placing bone under the cavity, to be like a natural buffer? As surely, would not want an implant driven into the nasal cavity, as that no doubt would cause inflammation, pain, or even infection. Thank you !! Appreciate the informative videos you put out. 🌷

The subantral augmentation is different than a sinus lift, but when done properly it creates a barrier between the sinus cavity and the implants, the Scheiderian membrane which lines the sinus floor is elevated carefully and the bone is carefully positioned between the membrane the the bone of the sinus cavity walls. The osteogenic cells in the area after elevating the membrane turn the graft into bone and this bone supports the implants in the posterior maxilla or back of the upper jaw where the sinus is located. The reason for the need of the sinus graft is most patients after losing their teeth in this area do not have sufficient bone to support the implants. After the sinus graft there is plenty of bone to support the implants. The all in 4 procedure was developed to avoid this technique sensitive procedure but puts in implants in a less than optimal position. For this reason and because of our incredible results with the sinus graft we at trust implants are not forced to have to do all on 4 procedure.
