I’m so sad for you about the booby jumper! But dish soap is meant to be great for getting out grease stains if you just gently rub a few drops in and then chuck it in the wash x
If that doesn't work Dr Beckmann stain devil for oil is amazing. I had a stubborn oil stain that wouldn't come with the usual tricks and that did it no bother.
For getting grease out of clothing (especially if they've dried once), dish soap is one option. Cornflour (or cornstarch) is excellent for any remaining stain. You'll have to dust it off/wash it again for both grease-soaking options.
To be honest, I'd probably wear the jumper even with an oil stain but even if you're not comfortable with that there must be a way to cover it with an embroidered embellishment or a patch or something. 🙂💛
I BF my first until he was 3 years old. Somewhere around 2 I realized that he was only drinking milk in the morning & at night for months, but I was still dressing like I needed boob access 24/7. Don’t be like me! 😂 when the kid drops day-drinks, change up the day-time wardrobe
Neat! The hardest part of breastfeeding in the cooler months for me has been always needing to find a somewhat warm spot. It just gets cold, even with breastfeeding jumpers. I really miss the flexibility and freedom I had in summer of comfortably breastfeeding anywhere when out and about or in nature.
Love your outfits! I've weaned my kids from daytime nursing around 1, but still kept evenings, nights and mornings. That means no pumping, no restrictions on real clothing -- highly recommend )
Fab video! I'm not sure about oil stains if they've been there a while but washing up liquid on fresh oil stains works WONDERS. I guess it's what it's designed for 🤷🏽 but yeah, a little squirt of washing up liquid, bit of a rub and then rinsed out has saved many of my clothes (I'm a clumsy woman!)
I get grease stains all the time, I am a clumsy human! It's liquid dishsoap. Drip enough on to soak into the whole grease spot, and just leave it for a day or two then wash it like normal. It always works.
I've had some success getting oil stains out of clothing but putting a generous dab of dawn liquid soap (the blue kind) on the spot, letting it sit for 5-10 minutes and then throwing it into the wash immediately. It works best if they stain has not set (you have not washed it).
I have a 3 week old baby who I’m breastfeeding and have been hoping that you would post the winter version of your summer breastfeeding clothes video! Really helpful and has inspired me to look through my wardrobe and see what I can make work!
When I was breastfeeding I also bought one of the wrap-around breastfeeding covers and when not in use you can wear it as a scarf. I worked wonders for extra warmth and with some of the more difficult tops and public situations.
While I’m not breastfeeding myself nor do I plan to in the near future, I do have a number of friends that are going to be first time parents this year, and these videos are great for finding gifts for them! Definitely going to be gifting at least one person one of those Juno Jacks jumpers
Chalk works on oil stains. I use a big chunky white chalk (the sort kids use for drawing hopscotch on pavements) to get oil out of clothes. I rub it all over the oily area inside and out so that it’s completely covered in chalk and chuck it in the wash
I get oil stains all the time (can't be bothered to put on an apron when cooking or baking:p) and just do 1 or two washes with ox gall soap, works every time!
I've always put baby powder onto grease stains. White chalk works well too. Leave it for a while, then wash with biological laundry liquid. I breast fed all my kids and although it's over 30 years since the last was weaned, I was a great fan of voluminous scarves and shawls in the colder months. Seasalt (a Cornish clothes company) do a particular wrapover neckline on dresses that struck me as perfect for breast feeding, alas, far too late for me. They're a bit pricey for OAP me when brand-new but they have a sale outlet on ebay which is cheap as chips and I've also picked up a couple of second-hand items too for under a tenner. Well-made and some really lovely fabric designs too.
Watched this when it was first released - I was just pregnant but didn't yet know it, now I'm preparing for an Autumn baby to arrive any day and rediscovered this vid! 🥹🎃🍁🌰🍂🍒 How cute!
Breastfeeding in the winter definitely takes it to a whole other level! I mostly just wore my summer breastfeeding tops with a sweater or sweatshirt on top of it. If not that, then the tanks (or vests as you call them) underneath are a must! My daughter was born in December of 2019 and self weaned around 10.5 months, so I never really had to worry about feeding her much in winter (after the initial mostly just feeding her at home phase) since she was weaned in October. My son is about to turn 1 this weekend, and we are down to just one feed in the morning. It has been so nice to get back to some non breastfeeding clothes!
For the oil stain - maybe dye it a darker colour? Depending on the material - you can get dye that you throw in the washing machine with the clothing and the machine does all the work for you (and doesnt damage the machine) - but check the packet for what material its meant for (these days you can even get dye for synthetic materials that works well)
I layer a tank top style crop under any nursing access that I pull down or open from the top down (button downs, wrap/surplice necklines, stretchy necklines). avoids the whole boob out conundrum - I don't mind a tasteful flash of nip but the whole thing is just beyond my personal comfort zone.
I'm still feeding my 2 year old and hopefully a newborn in the next few months. My daughter turned one in winter and I stopped feeding her out of the house as it was easier to distract her with snacks. I got to the point I could pretty much wear what I wanted as long as I was willing to somewhat expose myself at home. Also I just used normal stretchy vests and pull them down when feeding. But cheaper and you can size up if a bit tight.
Hannah, in Canada we have a product called Lestoil (google tells me that you can get it in the UK as well). Treat the stains with Lestoil (i just put the cloth over the mouth of the bottle and upend it quickly) and let the Lestoil sit for a few minutes, you can pop it right in the wash and it will take oil/grease stains out even on a cold cycle. Sometimes it will take a couple of treatments to get it fully out, but it should be colour safe on your clothes as well. Good luck!
I feel you on the items you can't wear! I was pregnant again when I stopped nursing my last one in Dec, so by the time we hit spring I will be too big for most of the dresses I've not worn since he was born in '21!
Any stain soaker or spray should get that grease stain out! ❤ I recommend keeping both on hand always - the amount of clothes I’ve saved or made look brand new is wild
I recommend Shout for oil stains! Literally just have to spray it on the stain before putting clothes in a normal wash and it works wonders for clumsy people like me
The definition of irony: I saved this video a couple of weeks ago to my watch later list, and that same week my 7 month old decided he was done nursing. So these are some great ideas and I'll never use them lol But the ending made me happy because it reminded me that I can take all my clothes out of storage, yay!
At least in the US, they make period-stain removing soaps that are intended to dissolve proteins, and they work BRILLIANTLY for getting out oil stains! Just in case the dish soap doesn't work, I'd recommend trying to find one of those if they have them in the UK.
It's my impression that oil stains will continue to be visible on clothing that's been dyed since being stained. However, it seems fitting that the oil-stained garment could continue to be used as protective-wear for cooking? Alternatively... Maybe you could add intentional oil stains to create a decorative "watermark" pattern, kind of like a new tattoo to cover up an old one that's no longer wanted?
I was born in north of Sweden in december. It was -30 degrees celcius when we left the hospital. Guess that must have been interesting for breastfeeding
Anytime I get any type of stain on clothes I care about, I pre-treat it with either laundry detergent or stain remover (Shout or Spray n Wash in the US, not sure what brands there are in the UK) as soon as I take it off at the end of the day, and the stain almost always comes out in the wash, if not, I'll treat it and wash it again. A lot of people my age forget to pre-treat stains or don't know it's an option? Save your clothes friends!
Vanish is the main one in the UK. I've recently discovered their gel for pre-treatment and it's MAGIC compared to their powder (which works better for in the washing machine).
For the oil stain: Visible mending! Embroider (or ask someone to embroider) something over the top! You could also just add something like an iron on patch from etsy. You'll wear it, and everyone will compliment you on your cute patches!
I'm excited to watch this! We're planning for baby number 2 and I really have to make breastfeeding work this time as my daughter has a touch sensitive dairy allergy with epipens so it just wouldn't be manageable to bring formula into our home. I know where we went wrong last time so I'm feeling confident but clothes for some reason are making me really excited 😂
soak the oil parts of the shirt in oil remover dishwashing detergent i have tried it before and it will remove the oils from the fabric, you might have to soak it for a while depending on how long the oil has been in the fabric, i hope it helps you because it has helped me before
Hey Hannah, with your can’t tuck tops issue, I have a similar issue if I feel like a top is too long to tuck (I have a lot of men’s tops and they’re sooo much longer than women’s) but to get the same high waisted look I find a little hair tie gather situation at my belly button or back really helps! Hope it could help you too 🥰❤️
I literally wear a vest top from like October - April at least! And regarding the stain - sure it is annoying, but you can still wear it like that. It's still a functional sweater, just with a stain. I have many shirts with holes in it and sure, some people would throw them away, but they are still wearable
A dry cleaner should be able to help get oil stains out of your sweater! Tell them what stained it and they’ll determine what wash method to use. Good luck!
I have oil stains all over my I'm Thinking About Books sweater from Ariel Bisset. I'M SO SAD ABOUT IT. I've tried all sorts of things to get it out but I just can't. I'll be hunting your comments for people making other suggestions of what to try.
You can take the stain of, you just need dish soap (the thick kind that you need to water to use) just a tea spoon of it rub it with your fingers and when you put the next wash ( 60 + temperature) it will be stain free.... I do it all the time.. is the best tip out their!😅🥰
Btw, i covered all my stains with acrylic paint that is specifically made to be used on fabric:) it does its thing, and, actually, two things - it covers stains and breathes a new life into an item :)
You can dry clean oil stains out. It’s a little pricier than DIYs, but it might help. I use latched mama nursing clothes and actually got blisters from a vasoplasm from how cold winter is where I live since I can’t cover up my nipples while nursing 😬😬
Put washing up liquid on your oil stains!! Rub it in gently and leave it for maybe 20 minutes and then throw it in the washing machine. Works a treat! Washing up liquid is designed to break down grease and oil from your dishes so it works the same on your clothes 😊
If they sell it in the UK, Lestoil has never failed me in getting out oil (and many other types of stains) - even oil spots that are literally years and years old!
I also use mostly vest tops (which i already used in the summer) and wider sweaters which are easy to pull up. But my vest tops have two layers on the boob, one with the clip to pull down and a short one which is covering the boob from the top. So you just pull it up a bit and you don't have the naked boob problem.
Mix some baking soda and dawn dish soap and put on oil stains! Let sit for a couple of hours. Wash and hang dry. Sometimes you have to do 2-3x before all the stains are gone
I've had really good luck using washing up liquid on oil stains! I just put a dab on the stain, wet my finger and rub in the soap all over. Then i just chuck it in the wash like normal.
You could always bleach dye the jumper! Wrap it up in a cinnamon swirl shape with the oil bit on show and the booby thread hiding, wrap it on elastic bands to hold it, pour diluted bleach over it in places, let it dry, wash it - and huzzah! Jumper with funky pattern, and oil hidden/erased.
Maybe you can bring the jumper to an actual cleaning service like a dry cleaner? I 'm not sure what the correct vocabulary is. I'm sure they have methods for everything.
100% agree! I have huge boobs, 10m into bf my daughter, and totally happy nursing in public, but have no desire to wallop out the ladies full whack 😱 got all my nursing clothes on Vinter :) so cheap! Got a very similar jojo dress for only £2!

Seconding this for the dish soap.
I did this and then like and idiot I put it in the dryer after so now it permanent 😅
Also trying some baby powder and let it sit.
If that doesn't work Dr Beckmann stain devil for oil is amazing. I had a stubborn oil stain that wouldn't come with the usual tricks and that did it no bother.
Yes, definitely try washing up liquid! It has saved my favourite hoodie (a few times, I'm clumsy) 🤣

You can embroider little flowers over grease spots and can look very intentional!
I love the fact that I recognize and remember a lot of Hannah's clothes :D

love coming home to a new hannah witton video! these are so fun i love them
I'm living for the dramatic demonstrations that accompany your explanation of the clothes 😂

If the dish soap and other hacks can't remove the stain maybe you could get some fun iron on patches to strategically place over the stains?
Hannah, you could put some cute patches over the oil stains- little suns or flowers or hearts.
Watched this when it was first released - I was just pregnant but didn't yet know it, now I'm preparing for an Autumn baby to arrive any day and rediscovered this vid! 🥹🎃🍁🌰🍂🍒 How cute!

Try the dish soap and warm (preferably hot if fabric can hanndle it) water. It will do the trick and remove stain.

Suggestion for the oil stains if you can't get them out - could you embroider over them, in a similar style to the embroidery already on it?
This would definitely look really cool
Any stain soaker or spray should get that grease stain out! ❤ I recommend keeping both on hand always - the amount of clothes I’ve saved or made look brand new is wild
I recommend Shout for oil stains! Literally just have to spray it on the stain before putting clothes in a normal wash and it works wonders for clumsy people like me
Use talcum powder to remove oil stains! It works a charm!! 😉
Hannah - try tie dying the zip jumper with a darker tone of red. Then the stain will blend in with the splotchy tie-dye pattern and it will look fine!
i might have a look for clothes on amazon

My Juno Jacks jumper got stained from breast milk! And then we put it in the dryer by accident so now it’s too small. So sad!! I loved that jumper!

Corn starch on the oil stains!!

You put one of those stick on graphics over the oil stain. I have done it and it is fun
What about spraying/splatting the rest of the jumper with oil so it looks like a subtle tie die kind of pattern?
soak the oil parts of the shirt in oil remover dishwashing detergent i have tried it before and it will remove the oils from the fabric, you might have to soak it for a while depending on how long the oil has been in the fabric, i hope it helps you because it has helped me before

Embroider additional images on the spots?
For the oil stain put corn starch on it to soak it up! Shake it off after a day then wash.
I think there are ways of getting oil stains out even if it's been washed already!
Put washing liquid on the oil stain and let it sit, than wash it. Always works!
Are you getting your colours professionally analysed? Like 12 colour season analysis? I really hope so because I love that stuff!
Tie-Dye the jumper Hannah. If the stain won't come out that will definitely get rid of it and it will look pretty cool! Could do a video on it x
Hi Hannah, I’ve heard that if you rub a piece of chalk on a grease/ oil stain it really helps. Xx
You can dry clean oil stains out. It’s a little pricier than DIYs, but it might help.
I use latched mama nursing clothes and actually got blisters from a vasoplasm from how cold winter is where I live since I can’t cover up my nipples while nursing 😬😬
Thanks
Put washing up liquid on your oil stains!! Rub it in gently and leave it for maybe 20 minutes and then throw it in the washing machine. Works a treat! Washing up liquid is designed to break down grease and oil from your dishes so it works the same on your clothes 😊
Dawn dishwashing soap or something similar gets all oil stains out.
If they sell it in the UK, Lestoil has never failed me in getting out oil (and many other types of stains) - even oil spots that are literally years and years old!
Have you tried Fels Naptha stain remover? It works great on an greasy stain of unknown origins on one of my tops.
love love love just brilliant
I also use mostly vest tops (which i already used in the summer) and wider sweaters which are easy to pull up. I use washing up liquid to get those kinds of oil stains out!
@morehannah you should know that oil stains can be removed with dish soap like Dawn or Palmolive
I’ve found American Eagle has great oversized cardigans if you have them in Europe
Salt does wonders for oily stains. Just rub some in the stain and then wash the stain with dishwashing liquid :)
Have you tried putting harsh dishsoap directly all over the stain and then wash 40°c it can come out
Mix some baking soda and dawn dish soap and put on oil stains! Let sit for a couple of hours. Wash and hang dry. Sometimes you have to do 2-3x before all the stains are gone
I am so random. I just wear whatever jumper and then lift it up 😅
I've had really good luck using washing up liquid on oil stains!
Try Fairy washing up liquid on that oil stain
Hannah would be amazing at presenting all that crap on tv that you had to call in to buy in the 90s/early 00s lol
in my twenties and literally watching this while wearing a built-in-bra top 😆
8:04 😍
Maybe you can bring the jumper to an actual cleaning service like a dry cleaner? I 'm not sure what the correct vocabulary is. I'm sure they have methods for everything.
You could embroider something on the stain :) just like visible mending :)
HANNAH TRY CHALK ON THE OIL STAIN!!!! Just rub some on and put it in the wash and it should soak it all up
100% agree! I have huge boobs, 10m into bf my daughter, and totally happy nursing in public, but have no desire to wallop out the ladies full whack 😱 got all my nursing clothes on Vinter :) so cheap! Got a very similar jojo dress for only £2!
Leena norms?
Yes
I love her channel too 💜
Leaving a comment for the algorithm
Dampen the jumper and rub washing up liquid in the the oil stain before washing it as normal, should bring it right out
Are there any clothes that Rowan has grown out of that you don't want to part with? You could make a patch to go over the oil stain on the booby jumper!
💖
Dawn dish soap for your oil stains
oh man oil stains are the worst 😭
Dish soap can get oil out of clothing!

Put washing up liquid on the oil stain and wash again in the machine and it will be gone!!
unbuttoning from the bottom 🤯 game changer
Time to bleach tie dye the sweater with the grease stain
