Thank you so much! This was exactly what I needed and was looking for.
Glad it was helpful! Thank you. ❤️❤️
Nice to see someone who holds the yarn the same way I do. Looking for something to wear when reading in bed to keep m arms warm.
Perfect for bedtime reading. I taught myself to crochet from diagrams years ago and that’s why I hold the yarn as I do and it works for me. I’ve had a few others say they also hold it like this so thank you for letting me know. It’s nice to not be alone lol
Very nice.I haven't made a shrug in a while. Thanks for sharing this with us.

hello your instructions are great...just what i can do to make the shrug longer
I’m sorry. It’s really designed for a friend who just wanted the sleeves. I can’t think of an easy way to adapt this pattern. Unfortunately I don’t currently have a longer shrug pattern at the moment.
thank you anyways
Thnku so much for this good tutorial which was easy to follow. When will the written pattern be ready plse? Thnku
The pattern will be out next Monday. It will also be on my blog as well.
The pattern is on my blog now. Thanks for your patience carrowaycrochet.com/samantha-sleeves-shrug-free-crochet-pattern/
Could you possibly show a back view of this shrug? Thanks
If you click on “more” in the description under the video you will see a link to my free pattern on my blog. That has lots of picture of the shrug and some of the back view. ❤
Hi there. I just checked and you can also see what the back looks like as the end of the video if you don’t want to check out the free pattern for pics.
Thank you for doing this video I have been looking for a pattern like this for a while I saw the free pattern but have not been able to print it or find it to print could you help
Hi. I’m glad you like it.
To print it you need to purchase it from my Etsy or Ravelry shops. There should be a code in the description under the video for a discount in my Etsy shop and a link. Or it’s free on the blog

If I needed to make this with the arms just a bit bigger around could I add extra stitches when you chain 8 for the under arm? Could I chain 12 maybe? Or would that just mess everything up?
HI there. That is the perfect way to make your sleeve bigger around. You can try chain 12 and see how it works. If it is too big just pull it back and keep trying till it is the size you want. Also if it starts looking too wide for you as you get down below the elbow and you want to shape the sleeve you can just dc 2 together if you want to decrease the width of the sleeve. Make sure to space the decreases out so it looks like a gradual decrease. I hope this helps. You will need to adjust things a little from the pattern when the cuff part comes up but i am sure you can work that out.
@@CarrowayCrochet Thank you so much. :)
Hello! I would like to make this shrug for a woman who wears size 3 and 4xl men's tshirts but now needs a shrug she needs to keep her arms warm because of pain. She had been thinking of inventing such a thing until she foud it here on Utube.
how would i do this in a size small?
There is a free pattern on my blog. There is a link to the free pattern in the description under the video. It’s in all the sizes. 😊XS up to 5X. Let me know if you find it ok. 😊
@@CarrowayCrochet thank you ! where can i find your blog ?
Can I also use dk/light yarn with this pattern?
Hi there. Unfortunately it will not make up to the right size is you use that light a weight of yarn. So sorry.
Hi again Celine. I checked and if you use two strands of Dk weight yarn held together as you work that should be fine 😊
@@CarrowayCrochet thank you so much for your effort! I think I will just purchase some medium yarn (+ I have a reason to go yarn shopping lol 😜)
will there be a written pattern? i would love one
Hi Kim. Yes I’m just working on the sizing and it’s going out to testers in the next few days. I’ll mention here when it’s ready. Thank you.
@@CarrowayCrochet i'll be watching for it thank you
The pattern is on my blog now. Thanks for your patience carrowaycrochet.com/samantha-sleeves-shrug-free-crochet-pattern/
When is the written pattern coming out?
Hi there. It was supposed to be out last week, but I had a week of issues with my blog and the hosting, the menu stop showing up, and the feature images etc. It was a complicated issue and took days to resolve. This threw me off my schedule. So sorry. I am launching a new blog up on November 1 so that is my priority right now and then the pattern will be out. Thank you for your patience.
@@CarrowayCrochet thanks! cant wait to try making it once the pattern is out :)
The pattern is on my blog now. Thanks for your patience carrowaycrochet.com/samantha-sleeves-shrug-free-crochet-pattern/
What is the size of this shrug?
This is a large. 😊. I’m getting the written pattern tested in all the sizes and will post here when it’s published
The pattern is on my blog now with all the sizes. Thanks for your patience carrowaycrochet.com/samantha-sleeves-shrug-free-crochet-pattern/
Why is the count off when you add the "armhole " extra stitches? My total from XL and then chain 10 should be 50..NOT 56...please help!! This is so beautiful bit stitches don't add up
@@Munecasensual1 I am so sorry. I made a mistake while filming. Please use the number of stitches you have after chaining for the arm hole. I apologize.
@@Munecasensual1 you are correct. This is the correct stitch count . Your sleeve now has 32 (38, 44, 50, 54, 62, 68) stitches and your XL should indeed be 50. I have fixed the mistake on my blog pattern and on the patterns on my Etsy and Ravelry pattern. Please let me know if you purchased a pattern. I have sent new versions to everyone who bought one on etsy or ravelry but would hate to have missed you.
