- Skyrim is a game rich in secrets and hidden tales. The Elder Scrolls 5 prides itself in being able to consistently wow players and spark the Dragonborn’s curiosity. Indeed, nearly eight years after Skyrim first debuted, there are still a massive amount of unsolved riddled and curios conundrums that Bethesda purposely left to our imaginations and own speculation. So, what a better way to celebrate Skyrim than by exploring some of the most fascinating unexplained narratives and phenomenon in the game as we jump right into our thirteenth episode of five unsettling mysteries you may have missed in The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim.

Mar Hawkman having never played Daggerfall I was so confused by that picture. I never knew that the Khajit didn’t look quite as cat like as they do now. It’s weird to me how they used to basically just be humans with tails.

Yeah the quest he mentioned was not Sheogoraths. In Morrowind, his quest to kill a bull netch with a fork, and in oblivion you're terrorizing a colony of cats.

Yeah, hence why he is able to use the voice to kill the High King. Maybe after Ulfric they got reluctant to take in apprentices.

Hey Nate, one thing:
The dreamworld amulet has nothing to do with Sheogorath. It was created in one of Henentire's experiments, and there's no mention of it being "possessed" by Sheogorath.
You could be thinking of the Staff of Everscamp, which is from another quest in oblivion and is said to be cursed by him, but there's no mention of Sheogorath in anything to do with Through a Nightmare Darkly.
I was literally just thinking that.
I can't wait to hear the relief in Nate's voice when he finally makes his first "10 Tiny Details" video after TES 6 releases.

In oblivion, after i learned how to clone items with scrolls, i spawned so much cheese on the ground before him it slowed the game to the framerate of the original 90s pokemon anime... 3-5 fps. Lol

Camelworks actually covered Falkreath in his curiosity series recently. In that video he spotted that graveyard you talked about. What he hinted at is the rabbit you find in the area, that is the only living thing there, is a nod to Monty Python and the Holy Grail where the killer white rabbit is found.
The truly unsettling mystery is how Nate's got the fortitude to break down every game element possible

The Pelagius Wing of the Blue Palace is essentially described as haunted. I think The Mind of Madness takes place in the mind of the spirit of Pelagius. He’s restless and disturbed and can’t let go of the past. Subsequently, he’s haunting the abandoned wing.

If Sheogorath claimed Pelagius' soul, presumably he could enter his mind and his memories whenever he pleased. Sheogorath refers to it as his "vacation", and he provides details about Pelagius that implies a more personal relationship between the two. I really think you are in the mind of Pelagius, and Sheogorath has taken it over and assumed the role of host

I realised these too, made me question myself about that quest like "wait what, that had something to do with Sheo?"
But also just an fyi it's Through a 'Nightmare' Darkly :p After a quick google search, all three variations of the names mentioned do exist within different franchises. D&D, Star Trek, and TES, and I think they all play on the same concept. But yeah, that last part bugged me!

Has anyone else attacked Sheagorath in his own realm? When he teleports you into the sky before he drops you, is really fun, attacking him is pointless, unless you want to experience that death, and hearing your character scream louder, and louder before they hit the ground is, IMO priceless, please try it.

"Through a Nightmare, Darkly" was a recommendation quest for the Mages Guild and was completely unrelated to Sheogorath.
Its daedric quest involved tormenting a khajiit village.
It wasn't a recommendation quest. For recommendation you had to get back a staff of one of the mages that got stolen by a guy who had a crush on her. After getting the staff you could hear rumours that Kud-Ei needs help. You'd get the quest after talking to her.
it was a side quest loosely related to the mages guild, but not a recomendation quest.

Well, I guess Ysgamor ate soup with a fork because he wanted his "soup" so full of meat and other stuff that it was easier to eat with a fork. So basicly a stew of some sort that he instisted to call soup. That's what kind of a guy he was. Man among men.
Also that would be pretty likely for a warriors meal at the time, a stew made of hunted meat and gathered wild veggies, with big chunks that would make sense to eat with a fork

Tiber Septim - He was fatally wounded at Sancre Tor according to Joffre. But others disagree, either way I find it doubtful that he died naturally
Allesia - Supposedly died naturally, but it's never specified how old she was
Pelinal Whitestrake - He was cut into eight/seven (can't remember which)
Reamn Cyrodill - We know nothing about how he died. So I can't say anything here
I'm sure I missed some dragonborns and tounges but I'm sure you get the point
They have a tendency to not die naturally

If Bethesda wanted to re-release Skyrim with some of this cut content re-integrated into the game, I would totally buy it. It would be so neat to explore the original ideas the way they were meant to be explored.
Just get the unofficial skyrim patch and cutting room floor mods and most of it is restored.
I think this is my favourite series of them all. Every time I think I've seen everything
My thoughts on the Greybeards not being keen to recruit when we meet them are the last person they trained in the way of the voice (Ulfric) used it for political gains. Something the Grey Beards frown upon.
Furthermore they're probably not worried about their ways being lost as their master Parthunnax is an unaging dragon who continue on their teaching should the Greybeards die.
It's not impossible that understanding the voice somehow helps expand their lifespan but I can see reasons why these mortal men may not be super pressed to recruit when we meet them in Skyrim.
I still wonder what they DO approve of the voice being used for, since they never actually say, and apparently being Dragonborn you can use it for whatever you want and they don't care. Killing Parthuunax is the only thing that will get you kicked out. You can use your voice for the same purpose Ulfric did and they won't even mention any disapproval. If there's any mystery around the Greybeards, it's what their actual philosophy and ethics are about what one should or shouldn't use the voice for. I know Parthunnax wants to make sure mortals have a defense against Alduin and any dragons that follow them should they come back, but the Graybeards never once mention such.
It would be weird for a bunch of supposed pacifists to teach people to use something clearly meant as a weapon, so they can't be that against it being used as such.
Sheogorath was once the most powerful now he the most unstable but we love it

Nate, you got your Oblivion daedric quests mixed up. The one with the dream-world amulet was Vermina's I think. Sheogorath's quest was to terrorize a village of khajiit south of Bravil with a series of pranks, fulfilling something they called the "kishara prophecy".

Everyone knows why Isgramor ate soup with a fork: simply there werent spoons back then🤷♂️
We have no way of knowing, but in real world spoons with handles date about 5000 years before forks and before that we have no idea how long we used what eventually turned into the spoon.
He was just proper badass and could manage.
IRL spoons and knives are thousands of years old, while the fork is only a few hundred. Don't know if this is the case in the Elder Scrolls universe, but it would be weird if the fork was created first there.

If I remember rightly the Maormer are only really involved in one quest in ESO Summerset. They're mostly involved in the ESO Base in the Aldmeri Dominion storyline, especially in the Auridon zone, the second largest island in the isles. They also play a massive part in Khenarthi's Roost (Like with Ulondil) and a part in the Greenshade zone in Valenwood
Number one: It's possible each region or sect of the Dark Brotherhood calls their respective leader a "Night Mother". However, when adding "the" to the title, they're referring specifically to the Night Mother that's in Oblivion/Skyrim.
Number three: In Camelworks recent video about Falkreath, a rabbit is scripted to be in the boneyard and never leaves it. It's possible the area is a reference to the killer rabbit in Monty Python and the Holy Grail.
What's truly unsettling is how Nate might've sold his soul to Hermaeus Mora for all this knowledge.
