- Well, Hailey’s wedding day finally arrived, and all of the girls came over to have their hair and make up done. We made a huge charcuterie for all of them to enjoy while having coffee.
Then it was time for me to get ready and headed out the door to the hall to get Hailey ready to go for the wedding. She wanted to do some. First looks with her dad and her brothers and was surprised by getting picked up by one of our Clydesdale horses.
The reception was so fun and then it was time for her and David to head out on their honeymoon and start their new life together.

When I realized my daughter would not be coming back home to live, I went into the shower and sat on the floor crying. I still wanted to be mom as it had always been before she went off to college. By the way, she went to Northern University in the U.P. She met and married someone from Marquette. I now have two wonderful grandsons. YOU WILL GET USE TO QUIET. REMEMBER, NOW YOU WILL SEE YOUR FAMILY GROW. IT WILL BE FINE. BEAUTIFUL WEDDING, THANKS FOR SHARING. ❤

Sarah was a wedding super star bestie, hairstylist, and bridesmaid! She did almost everyone's hair and had nerves of steel! I did the bride's hair once at a wedding, and I almost died of shakes.😂 Honestly, all of you worked SO hard to make the wedding special and memorable! Heather, God Abides! I went through "empty nest" with our Heavenly Father holding me everyday! My husband passed away from cancer at 43 yrs young when our son was 4 years old. His college of choice was away and it was important for him to make that journey and have the total college experience. God was with us both. It is in the quiet that the comfort of the Holy Spirit brings peace. Praying for peace for you!😊❤

The pictures are absolutely wonderful. I love the sunflowers with the colors of the bridesmaids dresses. The ‘bride reveal’ pictures with the brothers and father are so precious. Mama Bell, I know how you feel, I have 7 children, and 1 by 1 they are leaving, and I hate it, I'll never get used to it I know I won't. Us mums with big families get used to all the noise and everyone around us 24/7,we just see our babies growing into adults and feel like they won't need us no more, but I realize they will always need us and want us in their lives because our family is what we made it 😊, and I'm like you me and mine are all close just like you and yours. We have 4 children. Our youngest two (19 and 17) are seniors this year. Our oldest two are married and each have a child. We won’t ever be true empty nesters (we have a special needs child), but I will miss all the hussle and bussle of school aged children. We love when our grandchildren are in town and we have all our kids together.

It is overwhelming with the 1st wedding, just like having your 1st baby.
We learn , we pray, we grow.
Your family is so beautiful.
Our 5 children are all married and gone, and the empty nest is hard for a while, but it gets easier as time passes.
It was almost a second honeymoon for my husband and I after the pain of them all gone was over.
It's the way God designed it to be, and now they have their life's journey ahead of them.
But OH, the time when those grandbabies come, just wait!!
A whole new experience and enjoy them.
My husband and I have been married for 42 years, and we have 25 beautiful grandchildren !
I have Grandma Fun Day once a month.

Don't be sad about change . Its good change. I have 3 grown daughters two are married one still lives at home because she is in school and working. I was sad when my two oldest moved out. I just turned 50 in June and I have a 9 year old grandson and an 11 year old granddaughter. Grandkids are the best I love spending time with them. You will never have an empty nest. Because your family will always be growing.

Heather, the empty nest can be scary but just breathe it takes a minute to adjust but having time for you, your husband, home, friends, activities and then the grand babies come…whew what an exciting time in life. I’m crying. This was so beautiful and heartfelt. Yes, heartbreaking when they move out. I felt the same way about a noisy house, always loved the energy and purpose. What’s really a kick is when the grandchildren start to age out to with activities, school, homework and life! We are very close and we gather every Sunday night for “cousin time”. I needed to go back and watch second time and stopped multiple times to look over the scene more slowly. Thank you for inviting us to your daughter's wedding. cried as well. It was beautiful! Love was certainly evident and freely flowing between and to all. I understand your mixed emotions Heather. Change is always hard. But remember you are a wonderful Mom to 8 precious children and are doing the Lord's will to raise them to be kind,loving and productive giving adults. And I assure you that grandchildren will soon follow and you will be able to nurture a second generation of precious children. When that first one calls you"Grandma" all your sadness and doubts will disappear. In the meantime, double up on your hobbies because when that grand baby comes there will be no time for anything but your second mothering! Love and prayers to you!

I had empty nest syndrome and looking back I wish I had done a few more “me” things when I had the chance. But if you’re like me you can’t sit still long enough to do that😂 ❤❤
