  • 283. Using DISH SOAP To Create CRAZY Resin Art Effects!
In todays Resin Art video, I show you how you can create crazy resin art projects by dripping your resin into dish soap!
Make sure you practice this resin art technique on a smaller scale before jumping into anything big.
I have only done this resin technique a few times, it may look scary, but it's easier than it looks!
I also had to try this as a resin coaster! The effects are incredible! Even though it does look like a resin rice cake! 😂😂

A wee suggestion, paint on the black, and while it is still wet, wipe the paint off. Then, once the first coat in the cracks has dried, do the same again. It will be a lot easier to remove the paint and decide how much paint you want to leave on. Acrylic is a bugger once it has dried.
Love the look though! The blue one was more my taste but the pink one looked like it was glowing!

    • @dawsie
      @dawsie Місяць тому +3

Yes I liked the blue one much better too, purple would be perfect 😹😹. I think the colours like dark reds, blues, purples and greens will work better for this, I found the pinks, yellows and the pale colours are just not deep or rich enough for this method.

    • @kchaystack

If you were to do a wash with the black paint it'd get into the crevices, nooks & crannies so much quicker and easier. You just thin the paint out with enough water for it to flow smoothly, but not so much that the paint dissolves (acrylic paint is water soluble). Or, my preferred method - dunk your paintbrush in your water, dab it once on a paper towel, then dip it in your paint and brush it on. There will be enough water in the bristles for the paint to flow. Lightly wipe off the raised surfaces, and do another layer if you want it darker.

With that black it really made me think of the fluid art bloom technique where you use a cell activator and swipe it across your colors and you get this lacing effect with pops of color coming through. I love this! Id absolutely love to see you create angel wings with this technique! I love it all around!! I can use this for so many things! Great idea!! 🤗 💜 ❤️💙💚🩵💛🧡🩷😊🥰

Hey Dan! I’ve just finished watching this video while I work on some resin projects myself. I love this idea!! It’s brilliant. When I was getting married we purchased these round discs to put under glasses & they would light up. Unfortunately the night before our wedding there was crazy drama at a family members house & we forgot to get them out. But I have just found them again looking for something else & it made me think if you had a smooth circular cone mould those discs would be perfect. You can turn them on & off & you can change the batteries as well. They would make great little nightlights for kids or on tables instead of candles at events or just at home or in the garden. Thank you for another great video 👍🏼

Excellent advice: start small! I like the pieces without the black. I think another coat of resin on the coaster, to top it off would really enhance the look. The black paint is matte. Another coat of resin would make it shine.

I think this is the first time I've diagreed with you. I prefer no black...but you do you. To each his own. I also think the pyramid would look great two toned. One side blue, one side red, both cut on the diagonal. Fire and ice situation. I absolutely love the way they sparkle! Brilliant! Also, the growth in your membership is well deserved. You have earned every one of them. WELL DONE!

I would love to see what you come up with using Musou black and Molotow liquid chrome.

This is a really cool technique! It'd be wicked to do with a sphere mold, but only the bottom half - after curing and rinsing, put the mold together and fill the top half with colored resin.

The tree growing off to the side is my favorite part! It looks like an alien palm tree or a tail on a diatom or something and the curves balance the hard lines of the prramid. I wish you could keep it but it's too btittle.
I love the black! I wanna eat that sparkly rice cake.
