No the beginning of the end was St Johns failing to get rebounds. A Baylor player got an offensive rebound laying on the floor. That's when I knew it was over.
Turned it off when St Johns hit that last big three then saw the score was 96-98 turned it back on and as soon as the picture came up the ball was going through the net crazy
not to mention missed foul on prev inbound play that would have given baylor the ball with 6 seconds. that inbounds foul was also called two seconds late. it all nets out in the end.
For anyone saying it evened out, that's not true. They called the foul when his arm was grabbed, not when they were surrounding him trying to steal it. Good call for the first foul, bad call for when they started the clock
St. John’s lost the game by missing 12 free throws especially the two at the end. However there was 4.1 seconds left on the second most free-throw and the clock operator did not start the clock when the ball was touched by RJ Luis after the second missed free throw. The extra second that it took to start the clock was the difference in the game
It wasn't an extra second (more like about half a second) and I'm pretty sure it wouldn't have mattered. I set my timer at FOUR seconds (no .1), turned the sound off the video, and ran the play. I ran it three times. The first was what I thought was normal reaction time. Shot was good -- well before the timer went off. Second time same reaction except just a little quicker but just as reasonable. The shot was closer, would have required replay but I think he JUST got it off if I had to guess. The final one, I hit it right as the first player touched the ball knowing he was going to touch it. Shot clearly no good. The thing is, I had already watched the play about a half dozen times by that point and KNEW what was going to happen. The clock operator had to react without that information. The bottom line is that while yes, he probably didn't start the clock when he should have, it almost certainly didn't matter. A reasonable reaction time for FOUR seconds, not to mention 4.1, would have allowed Baylor to get the shot off.
So dumb. Like wtf was the opperator even doing? They should've had their finger on the button ready to press it the second they saw it touch a player. I guess they were talking to someone behind them 🤔
First off, very entertaining game. St Johns had a near perfect first half, besides the last minute or so which is never good. Felt like they should have been up more than 14. Baylor has a lot of shot makers, the lottery pick freshman did nothing all night, before he hit that tough 3. Not sure why the big man was even on the floor, knowing they were gonna need to make free throws, and of course instead of throwing into to 5, they panic and give it to him. He misses both, and the kid Roach from Duke makes a great shot. Early season loss, that won't matter unless this spirals. St Johns really needs to beat UVA tonight, to make sure this doesn't turn into a bad week in the Bahamas. They also get UGA on Sunday. As a long time St Johns fan, it felt like Pitino had his team ready, and should have closed out what would have been the best win he's had here so far.
What this doesn’t show is that Roach had missed the front end of a 1 and 1 at the end of regulation while up 2. St. John’s got the rebound and tied the game to send it to OT. If he had made those 2 FTs this might not have gone into OT at all. Redemption for Roach!
need to make free throws -but time didn’t start until Baylor player touch the ball -4.1. but actually, time should’ve started when St. John player touch it first. After the free throw leading 1.2 seconds difference
Would’ve posted the full ending but gotta get up at 5 AM for work lol
Glad you made it still! I love college basketball and I watched it live
and I thought, PSC should be out with a video in an hour
You’re all good bro
lol we understand and appreciate this bruh!!
What’s your job bro
😬💀
Make your free throws kids.
It’s funny cuz Baylor missed 5 in the second overtime alone and still won
And if you don’t make the free throws, grab the rebound.
The most basic fundamental part of the game 🤦
And that next to last free throw was actually in the bucket before it bounced out. Would have been 3OT if it went in.
24's gonna be shooting free throws for 3 hours straight at practice
And that might not be enough
@@stevebabiak6997 yes it will
The 2 foul shots that St John’s missed was the beginning of the end

Clock operator took his time starting the clock on that last missed free throw 😅
Very smart of you to notice
Yeah he doesn't get that off if the clock operator starts it when it's supposed to be started
Clock starts only when someone has possesion of the ball look at the video again @Noahbarkley-vq3ef
There also should have been more time from the foul that led to the shots. Evens out.
@@justme6222 not really. The clock opperator was like 1.5 seconds late

If the clock had started when it should have after the missed free throw, final shot would have been somewhere around half court
DONT MATTER. BEARS WIN
If the last guy made his FT’s ir the guy before him made his missed one, a measly 0.3 seconds wouldn’t have meant anything

The officials took their sweet time calling the foul on the inbound that resulted in the free throws by St. John's. So it evened it out.

Idk if ive ever seen a team sell like that before

Anybody else notice the Baylor HC almost sock the ref at the buzzer beater?
No way! You're right!
What a wild ending
Rick Pitino has gotta be sick
I turned this game off after the first half. Thought St. John’s had it in the bag😂
I thought Baylor won the 1st overtime but that was a great shot.

It was nice of the refs to stop calling foulon Baylor after 10 minutes into the second half
The announcers should have said “the only thing you could have done was make your free throws to ice the game”

They don’t have the same team since the 2021 championship

St. John's is going to spend all of next practice on free-throw shooting.
Jeremy Roach is my 🐐
Both teams could have lost on free throws, Roach missed the 1and1 at the end of regulation that would have iced it
