That end scene where Damon and Stefan hug is one of my favorite scenes in the whole show. Such a great Defan moment. Stefan was in utter shock when Damon showed up. He had to make sure he was real. Bonnie sacrificing herself so that Damon could go back home 😭. They care about each other so much! Kai is pissed now. I also really like Tyler and Liv together. I definitely wasn’t expecting her to kill that guy for him, but wow. That was such a selfless thing to do.
i remember watching this episode for the first time and i cried my eyes out at that last scene. My top reason why i love this show so much is because of the bond between stefan and damon. Still till this day, years later, everytime i see this scene i either cry or i'm smiling from ear to ear.
I can totally say you are one of the few people who actually gets this show and it’s characters, not many people could notice this ,you have to have very keen eyes so you’re gonna be able to catch the important messages which I can say you definitely have the gift ,you can easily read between lines and get all the hidden messages in the show , what you said about Elena being the one who brought the brothers back together ,that was so on point. I’m delighted every time I find the reactors like you , so far you are the best just keep going and I can’t wait for you to get to season 7 one of my absolute favourite season.

There are 3 scenes in TVD where I started crying really badly...one is the series finale, one is a funeral and the "last call" and the other was this hug between Stefan and Damon. Knowing how they hated each other and wanted to kill each other and like you said, seeing how far they have come since then...I couldn't help but bawl my eyes out >.

It was harsh but I feel like Stefan kinda deserved that and what's more important he also really needed to hear it and I like Alaric was the one who said it. Defan is def the most important ship from TVD. Their hug at the end is beautiful, always makes me cry.
All of them missing Damon ( Elena, Enzo, Ric ) but they don't know what damon means to stefan ; he didn't gave up, he was just trying to feel less pain cause you know when you spend 150 years with your brother and your mother is no more and you father is shit, you have only that person by your side for 150+ years, it's hurts man actually 150 times more than elena felt ( you can imagine that). It's obvious that the pain he felt can crush him and force him to shut his humanity off and he basically tried to avoid that. Ughhhh they don't know what actually their relation is
There's just not enough Defan moments. I love it when they bond, and mean it. Damon is Stefan's Albatross that he can't take off and put down because he cares too damn much, which was always the problem between the two. Stefan sees him with kid Stefan eyes. He wants his hero back, that used to protect him from violence, and spent quality time with him. He's been desperately wanting that back since Damon became a vampire. Stefan blamed himself for Damon, and Damon also laid blame on Stefan, but truth be told...It was never Stefan's fault. Damon was going to turn for Katherine and leave Stefan behind. He was also willing to die over her and leave Stefan behind. That was his selfish streak showing. So I hate that Stefan has still been blaming himself all these years. The only thing he's guilty of is wanting his hero by his side forever, because he loved him too much to be without him. Damon could have still walked away from Stefan when Stefan was tempting him with blood. Stefan was the one who was compelled and turned, so he truly had no choice. Whenever they get past that, they are a great duo. I will have to respectfully disagree with you about Elena being the reason the brothers are close again. I think she is the reason they would keep falling apart. She's been Damon's enabler since they got together, instead of making him accountable for his actions. I think she used sex as a manipulation for him to behave, but then she just stopped doing even that and just reveled in all the bad things he did, because she felt excited by it. I think Bonnie is a major reason why Damon has shown maturity. It's one thing for the writers to make the characters say stuff with no proof of context to what they are making them say. It's another to show that change and give evidence to the statement. Bonnie was the influencer who helped Damon see his worth and own up to his responsibilities. They should have been the ultimate power couple. Because, just like in the books, they mystically seem to affect the other. Her powers came back because she was protecting him from Kai. He goes hard on anybody messing with his Bon Bon, but doesn't kill unless he has to. He has been mesmerized by Bonnie since she's been knocking him on his ass and telling him off. The way he watches her when she is doing magic is so intense, as if he is silently in awe of her. He always hid that with snarky comments and insults at her. When he found out she died in season 5, the writers made him say something stupid to turn around and make Bonnie's death about Elena.....when Ian's choice was to play it like he was torn up about it himself. Hence the intense hug he gave Jeremy, with tears forming in his eyes. Ric really pissed me off with his hypocrisy concerning Stefan. He and Elena only knew Damon for several years. That was his brother for over 150 years. Ric and Caroline could never know what Stefan was going through. Ric was wrong to say those things to Stefan...especially when he was coddling Elena's feelings. Stefan chose not to forget his brother, but just mask the pain until he can see himself ok again. Per usual, Caroline made someone's death about her and her neediness for attention, just like she did with Tyler when he lost it over his mother's death. His last living relative. Again, everybody is laying their baggage on Stefan and painting him out to be the jerk for not catering to their needs, while he's seriously going through it. He owed Caroline nothing, but yet she makes it seem like she's the wounded bird that he hurt. Now, I will say that him trying to dump Ivy when she was in the middle of her crisis, was a crappy thing to do. Enzo should have been forced to deal with it too, since he was to blame for it....because Caroline cried crocodile tears about Stefan. The more Elena talked to Stefan about how he should handle his dealing with missing Damon, the more I wished she would just shut her hypocrite mouth. Bonnie did not have to sacrifice her way home to stop Kai. That scene was just another way to keep her away from the other characters again. Just like she used her powers to throw Kai...she could have used them to snap his neck and then both her and Damon could have left together. But for those who already know why Kat kept being forced to be alone most of the time...you know it was bs. I love Bamon moments. The way they are together is a true blossoming of real love, not just physical. The long looks into each other's eyes says it all. It's always been there since they met, but Damon's bad actions that affected Bonnie is what made it impossible for them to connect. But, they have moved past that and have grown into something beautiful. Again, this is my opinion...and to each their own.
I agree with everything except the Caroline issue. Because Caroline and Stefan were best friends at this moment. Imagine your best friend leaving at a time where you are both grieving. I know everybody grieves differently but Stefan tried to completely forget about his own life and start a new one. That’s really shitty. To me that’s the same thing as parent leaving their family and starting a new one.
it's not even that liam isn't as hot it's that out of all of the people nina has chemistry with (she literally can have chemistry with a tree) somehow she has no chemistry at all with liam and maybe it was meant to be that way because rebound but pair her with literally anyone else and she has chemistry it's so bizarre (and yes, i do think when you compare nina and ian to most anyone else you aren't going to come close but they both still manage to have great chemistry with other characters)
If that's the case then Stefan, Alaric, Enzo, Tyler, Luke, all owe Damon because they're only living because Damon Sacrificed his life for them to be saved Damon was doing it to save Stefan but ended up saving all of them. But no thats not how sacrifice works because if Damon owes Bonnie or anyone of them owes Damon then it would be a transaction and not a selfless act anymore. They should forever be grateful to Bon Bon and Damon but they don't owe them anything. Does Bonnie owe Damon for doing everything in his power to get her back even ruining his friendship with Alaric to save her then eventually gets her the tools so she can get out. No they love each other you don't owe someone for a selfless act is my point or it wouldn't be a selfless act.
there may be a lot of relationships on this show but tbh the most important and beautiful relationship is damon and stefans for sure :’)
