The writers just refused to let Bonnie be happy ☹️💔
You all are talking about Bonnie's happiness (and it's true) but what about Enzo? He'd finally found the love of his life "after a century of pain and loneliness" and Julie Plec destroys everything for them both for no good reason.

Enzo's death broke me. I cry every time I see that episode.
I always watch the first half of the episode where they're blissfully happy and then turn it off, pretending that they got away before Stefan got there and spent the rest of their lives together in Paris.

Bonnie and Enzo both deserved better. Season 8 is truly a mess 😢 I was genuinely upset after this happened, so I totally feel you!
Killing Enzo by Stefan's hand was def. one of the worst things the show did. Along with Damon killing Lexi, and Tyler and snapping Jeremy's neck imo. I really, really, hated this. Bonnie deserved to be happy. She didn't need one more thing to tear her down, especially at the end of the series. I am so mad about this.

SPOILER
They had to kill one of the Salvatore brothers in the end. It was either Elena or Caroline who was going to be heartbroken. If the writers gave Bonnie her happy ending(which she actually deserves) then there would be only one who didn’t have the happy ending which would have been much worse considering everyone got a happy ending except one. That's why they killed Enzo so that Bonnie could give company to Caroline.

I'm not saying they don't deserve to have one because they do, but for them to be the ONLY ones after how toxic their relationship was and the fucked up shit Damon pulled across all 8 seasons? @@4Tom4lepus4 storyline wise it made sense. had nina been on the series through season 8 and then damon was teh one to sacrifice, i think that would have made a lot of sense for the series. but because nina was gone, it was already "sad" for everyone and damon had already lost her and was miserable for two years, so to me, from a writing view, it makes sense to bring her back and give them that happy ending. still dont love stefan having to sacrifice everything, but in a way, i do think he was more at peace because i dont think he was ever going to forgive himself for what he did in his ripper days.
@@elia_simon I think they should have gone with the original idea of killing both brothers. I think that would have made most sense for the story, and put to rest the whole Stefan vs Damon debate. Idk, I'm not happy at all with the finale, on any level. I think it just highlights all the ways in which the show has had flaws (and been highkey problematic) over the seasons by bringing ALL of them up and combining them into one big mess.

The writers did Bonnie dirty again... She deserved so much better. Same with Enzo. I'm still pissed, because it's so unfair and sad :( Kat’s acting is superior, her scream will forever give me chills.

So, hear me out, I think their best plan could be Matt, because knowing his story and the things he was able to do or the crazy amount of times he survive things that normal human didn't supposed to... he is literally the true immortal one in the show. I have no doubt that Matt would have defeated the Devil if he had fought him lmao
Damon REALLY pissed me off in these episodes. Enzo could have taken the cure, spent a happy human life with Bonnie and then Damon could've taken it from Enzo after they died, leading to his reunion with Elena. He was selfish & cost Bonenzo their chance at happiness. Also, Stefan's brutal murder of Enzo was sadistic. Even with his humanity off, he could've just snapped Enzo's neck. This was BTVS Angelus/Jenny Calendar levels of cruel.
I just can't believe that stefan killed enzo bonnie didn't deserve that. damon was trying to stop him from killing enzo but he didn't reach there in time.

I was so pissed that they killed Enzo too. Bonnie deserved to be happy, but the stories I’ve heard is that the writers were racist towards Kat Graham and well it shows in how Bonnie was written.
Kat's acting when Bonnie holds dead Enzo is haunting. You feel the pain of her losing her true love. Julie Plec's terrible choices as a writer will never change the fact that Bonenzo is a fan favorite couple

Kai really doesn't do much of anything, though. They just rely on the actor selling the comedic side of the character.
Also, Enzo's death changes nothing: he and Bonnie will always be the best couple of the show. The chemistry between Kat Graham and Michael Malarkey is wonderful. The story line of Enzo taking Bonnie to Paris was so romantic. I would choose Bonenzo any day over the Steroline/Klaroline/Stelena/Delena love triangles. Bonnie and Enzo had mature, selfless love and should have stayed in Paris instead of returning to Mystic Falls.

Uh, like what is she claiming here that dozens of Mystic Falls citizens were dying every year and the literal Devil was walking around? There certainly was evil in Mystic Falls back before Season 1 but there was an awful lot less of it.

They already foreshadowed enzo's death in season 5 by making stefan rip his heart out(it was more enzo) and they kept showing the rivalry between them and trying to kill each other and now he finally killed Enzo for real 😢 They ruined stefan's character and Enzo and Bonnie's happiness
I guess in ways enzos death has its reasons for a story line but at the same time it was pointless bonnie deserved to be happy

The Bonnie arc is like a reverse curve ball that has you thinking "ok by season 8 they can't screw her over any more than they have" THEN they do and somehow it was more of a surprise to me lol.
It's a shame the Enzo Bonnie stuff didn't have much time to grow as it was a genuine good pairing but I honestly didn't care much for it just because it was so sudden and short in the lifecycle of the show
You completely missed the point that Bonnie and Enzo were together for 3 years. It didn't matter that only a few flashbacks showed it - Kat and Michael were so good together that they completely sold their love story. It wasn't Delena and Stelena will they/won't they toxicity. Bonenzo was mature, unselfish love. That's why Enzo's death was horrible. He's irreplaceable as the love of Bonnie's life.
Stefan's humanity being off does not justify what he did to Enzo or what he threatened to do to Bonnie. Remember when Enzo's humanity was off in 8x05? He was trapped in the cabin with Bonnie, yet he didn't harm her at all. Bonnie being in danger was what switched Enzo's humanity back on. Therefore, I think Caroline's attempts to justify Stefan's murders is disgusting. Steroline should be over now.
Lol you are such a wimp. Saying that is basically saying Damon’s humanity being off does not justify what he did to Tyler or what he threatened to do to Bonnie, Caroline, Matt, and every other character. If you’re saying this and also being a Delena shipper, then you are blinded.
