MIke, I enjoyed seeing the detouring trains from foreign roads on your Rock Island layout. Very Nice! I hope you are feeling well and staying healthy! Tony
I like your undulating terrain with the cuts and fills necessary to maintain a level right of way. You captured the rolling landscape of the upper Midwest so perfectly. Well done on another cool video.
Hi Rob - There's something about those black GP7s and GP9s with the green diamond that always caught my eye. I enjoyed watching them pull freight trains through Dubuque, Iowa, in the late 1960s. Thank you for your comments and for watching. Mike
Great quality once again, but I noticed a distinction between the leading loc 842 and the other leading loc 8850 in light density. Was this meant to be?
Hi Antoine - The difference in light density is due to incandescent bulbs in loco 8850 and LEDs in loco 842. I prefer the LEDs and am converting the incandescent bulbs to LEDs when I am able to. Thanks for watching and commenting. Mike
Great video. The shot where the two freights meet, that started with pacing the Burlington locomotive; it showed the grain elevator painted on the backdrop. That was great how it showed everything getting smaller off into the distance. Great effect. That was the best part in the video to me. Stay well. 👍 I watched again and it looked 3d. It's not painted it's a cut out. It looks so good.
Another amazing video. I love seeing this layout as it is so perfectly done. Great period rolling stock, great scenery both open countryside running and highly detailed city/yard scenes. Period correct vehicles, and perfectly detailed motive power. Being a UP guy myself could you show the UP motive power sometime. I thought I saw a six axle Alco.
Hi Dave - Thank you very much for your comments which I appreciate. I'm planning to upload a video in the next day or so that has a UP SD45 in the consist. The UP locomotives you saw are Alco C630s and I'll certainly keep in mind to try and weave them into a future video. Thanks for watching! Mike
Robert, I see the CB&Q coming off the Streator branch to meet the Rock Island at LaSalle, Illinois to continue west through Bureau. I see the IC Eastbound at LaSalle taking the interchange track onto the IC charter line and heading north on the Amboy district then on to Chicago.
What is it with these other roads? Can they have that bad of track? LOL. Thanks for this snipet. My roots with the IC go wwwwaaaaayyyy back. Nice to see the early diesels. Got to love the "Green Diamond."
WOW That scenery is fantastic! I love the such proffesional weathering too it just looks great! RImodeler I donʻt know if you happen to know this but do you know what horn the red loco has at the beginning? Thanks for any info and thank you for posting!

CB&Q near Bureau Jct? Is this with an imaginary connection at Wyanett, IL to gain. access into the Quad Cities? Just curious how you are routing it.
Hi Robert - The routing I imagined was that the CB&Q would roll onto Rock Island tracks in the Chicago area. Thank you for watching. Mike

Thank you, Todd, for your comments and for watching. I grew up around the IC and always liked the "Green Diamond" and black GP locomotives. Mike

The red CB&Q locomotive horn is a Soundtraxx Tsunami2 decoder "Leslie S3L Horn". Thank you very much for watching and for your nice comments. Mike
