I'd love to hear your thoughts on this, we know AMA as stated is American focused, and heavily into internal promotion ie American riders products etc. The question though is the AMA missing a trick here supercross/motorcross in America is regarded as the top class world wide yet they are restricting there popularity on a global scale buy restricting the number of international riders for the reasons stated buy your guest, and television deals etc. Ok here in Australia obviously have an interest in the local riders in the Lawrance brothers, but the current broadcasting situation restricts us to paying $300 just to see them race on TV let alone to gain enough traction to actually get on a plane and support these guys, I believe it's the same anywhere outside the U.S dollar amount may vary. If the AMA wants to grow the sport on a global level they should be making international access easier/cheaper/free even to really grow there sport or are they just happy to be known as a local only competition?
They can do it but Feld and MX Sports don't want to risk money into it. Feld and MX Sports know that AMA racing can be more international but it needs a big money investment to make it happen, that's why they tried to stop World Supercross to happen, because WSX is more interesting for top riders than AMA racing.
If things work out we could have Deegan vs Lawrence like we had Deegan vs Pastrana back in the day. About the time people will be getting sick of Lawrence and doughnuts being shoved down our throat by the media, Dangerboy the Bad Boy will be offering an alternative for fans. Could be very interesting!
My honest opinion, look at 5-6 yrs from now and I see the 450 classes being dominated by the Jett n Hayden then Sexton still in it having hunter with him on that 2nd level n level 3 would be guys like shimoda, maybe forkner?, McAdoo, Hampshire guys that can get a win a year but not really late title contiders with aforementioned guys
I hope that Haiden is hermetic about all the hype around him. We saw a lot of riders lost with even the half of this hype. The outdoors in 2022 were a good test for him and we saw that he is not in the top level of the pro 250's riders. My fear is that people start to be bad with him if he doesn't have a supremacy like he has in amateur. Let the kid grows and become a great rider and human before put the weight of the entire american motocross on his shoulders.
Only have one question.....why try getting a SX/MX racer show up wearing a suit??? It's dirt bikes ...not draft day for the NFL. STOP making action sports even more corporate than what it already has become. The one thing I love the most about action sports and why I gravitated to it as much as I did growing up was, cause it was a way to express yourself, didn't have no team bullshit, no code of rule to follow by. Jus be you and if you're you than that's everything!!!
Maybe. But he’s already pushing and passing established guys on the practice track. But we all know the practice track and the race track are not the same.
@@the32honda Are you referring to the "click bait" vid from a few days ago? You do know that Cooper was not going fast at all, was clear in the vid as well, he was cruising, almost stopping in the corners... But yeah, no one can say how he will be once he goes pro. I suspect he will be very good.
@JAKEDOWN999 no one wants to see it but it happens. Some of the fastest ones as minors didn't always translate to the big bikes. Not sure how that's a lazy comparison when it's literally happened multiple times.
Haiden is already a more accomplished racer, and he's on track to win championships. All I see holding him back are injuries, which derails a lot of promising careers, AC, Forkner come to mind.
@@Floridawoodsbanshee 100% Pastrana, like AC he won some "lites" championships but injuries derailed the premiere class career. He did pioneer FMX and is probably better off being the FMX goat than one of the better racers.
He did not compare Haiden to Stewart did he!! Lol... MC, RC and JS changed the game years ago with James making the biggest impact. Now we have Jett Lawrence, Jo Shimoda and Hunter Lawrence (in that order) Lol... that will dominate everyone else including Haiden. This guy is correct about Haiden doesn't have to win to be relevant and that's imo exactly how it will go when he gets to the 450s.
I’m not a Jett fan in the least bit, but I definitely respect and acknowledge his speed. Other than him tho I honestly think the 250 class has been “slow” for years compared to what it used to be like in the geico Honda/pro circuit kawi era
Give him healthy time to develop at star before unleashing the fury. Release early rather than later. If Later I think he begins pushing to hard causing in decisions
Why is everybody so worried about "growing the sport"? When I got into as a kid, i liked that not everybody did it..... Making more people moto, ain't gonna do the sport any favors.
I'm liking Steve A a wee bit more after these interviews here, but the suit idea is just as stupid now as when he had KR wear one a few years ago. Said it then, say it again, They are racing DIRT BIKES. The sports jacket looked rather cool on KR last week, however.
“Changing the script”… Brian’s going big, because he’s going “backwards” or so old school PR would call it. People are sick of fake and luxurious in this sport. His “marketing experience” has found that being real and working hard, is better than the persona. My son is the same age as Haiden, been watching him since. Brian kept him away from getting the ego, helped him work, and it paid off. Sure it works in many other sports/entertainment, but he has this dialed, and others will follow suit… or not. Brian’s persona was “at the time” popular, but a guy that that actually acts it, Barcia (cough cough), is hated by riders, but can’t say it because it sounds bad for their branding. Sounds silly, but easily seen…watch Eli and Coops face at round 3 interview.
Only time will tell. I just watched a haiden degaan video and I don’t want my 12 year old to see. With popularity comes responsibility. He was showing off on his property with a pitbike doing crazy stuff without a helmet is that what we really want to teach our young children. Also he goes shopping and it’s disrespectful to most people in the shopping center. Unfortunately they just betrayed him as a spoiled brat
What are you watching? Watch his UA-cam video from last week, practicing supercross. Watch his corner speed and also how he eats up a 5 sec gap and passes Justin Cooper like he’s sitting still. Kids gonna be incredible,
I personally hated Ken in the suit that was to much showing up acting like a God I love Kenny but ego can kill or hurt you idt Deagan will let his ego get the best of him but this guy didn't realize the danger part of stroking Kenny's ego a bit to much Kenny came back so humble after those injuries this guy I hope stays away from giving advise to super stars he seem greedy
Who are these newbees? They did not know who John Tomac was when he was winning Mt. Bike races. YT is full of people who don't know what they are talking about.
I think this guy has absolutely the right mindset with the wrong person. Jet Lawrence is going to change the industry. Hayden Deegan will probably be another Alessi, or second generation that fades
Did you miss the entire theme of what Steve said ? And his emphasis on what the power of having an American super talent with huge marketability. He spoke about Kenny and making sure they kind of hid the fact he was from Germany, and that many people outside the sport still don’t know he is from Germany ( which included sponsors). And he was able to do that because Kenny doesn’t have the accent of a foreigner so they were able to script it with Kenny being marketed as an American athlete to maximize exposure. There is absolutely no hiding the fact that Jett is from Australia with that accent lol. That’s not a knock on Jett. Jett is an absolutely unreal athlete and rider. And I think Steve is spot on with what he said, and just for the simple fact that right now Haiden hasn’t officially started his Pro Career (I know he raced 2 MX Races) and Haiden is already more popular than Jett. And that’s obvious. Just take a look at their Social Media followings. Haiden literally has double the followers which holds a huge amount of weight and value with sponsors. So what Steve is saying is spot on in that sense. And not for nothing what’s with the hateful tone at the end and trying to bring the kid down almost hoping he doesn’t reach his potential. For sure he will be a better rider than you are at comprehending and listening when someone speaks and missing the entire point of what they are saying. Jase, you continue to carve out a beautiful space for yourself in the podcast world with your own super talent as an interviewer. Continued Success, 🤜🏼🤛🏼
@@josephbasile944 I think the problem is people are excited to watch and listen to jet Lawrence they're not excited to watch Hayden Deegan they love to see what the family has done and the family will be successful. However, I think like wealth, which I deal with a lot of wealthy families, the second generation really starts to decline and by the third generation they lose it all. I truly believe the same happens with fame. He will be good and he will be famous but it's his dad that drives the media much like Dale Earnhardt Senior drove that family to fame. I really don't see he has the personality to change the direction of Supercross or take it to a new level where Jett absolutely has that ability.
Guys I love deegan but he is a bit over rated, he's got all this clout now dominating amateur races then he gets to a pro national running 16th. Jett stayed somewhat low key compared to deegan and look at him now. I think we all think deegan is the next thing because of all the focus on him but there wasn't so much focus on Jett
Oh, how so? 99.9% of his races was very impressive. I take it you can do better right? Right now that kid is the fastest 17 year old on a dirt bike, no one his age or a year older comes close to his skill level
He was 16 and got a top 10 in 4 tries... go look at Jett Lawrence's first results in pro motocross and then base your opinion off of that lol. They were not impressive. My point here is not to compare the two, but to point out that the last 4 motos of the season for an amateur kid just coming in are never impressive. He showed good qualities and got valuable experience , that's all that matters at that point.
With Deegans I have a problem. Why do we as a motorsports people and fans have to support the family who actually has far right and racist views in the time of equality and diversity? That comes from someone in Europe by the way. Are all American motorsports people racist? The fact is, Deegans are homophobic and racist! Any half decent journalist can find that out with in 5 minutes.
His dad ruined his SX career when he ghost rided his bike which he should of been DQ over cause that’s so dangerous to be doing. Brain straight living his factory life thru his son he will never let danger boy be on his own
No im sorry. Haiden has all the hall makers and talent. But he wont be another carmichael, reed, or stuwart. Not even close He wont. Hes 17, and he will change, meaning there will be other riders who are 10 steps ahead of him on the 450. It's a one in a million haiden will win races on the 450. There is some kid right now who can barley aford a bike and goes days without eating. That kid will be the next carmichael. Not Haiden.
Hi unpopular opinion here.. I think Hayden is going to be a mid pack rider once he goes pro. There has been countless mino o superstars that never materialized once they went pro.

All haiden needs work on is his whoops....but the last 3 weeks he's improved big
Deegan will change the game
Maybe.
Already has. What other motocrosser was extensively broadcast from the time he was a kid all the way up into the pros? His whole life is a vlog.
If, if, if, if, if, if.....
He's already done as much as his dad in sport. Overall it's just the beginning of his possibilities
Or he'll be like Mike Alessi. Dominated younger and struggled when it was time
Lazy comparison. I don't see it.
@@Shawn-ts4jw lol it wasn’t clickbait
@JAKEDOWN999 no one wants to see it but it happens. Some of the fastest ones as minors didn't always translate to the big bikes. Not sure how that's a lazy comparison when it's literally happened multiple times.
The next Alessi
Marketablity will only carry someone so far ask Danica Patrick.
Haiden is already a more accomplished racer, and he's on track to win championships. All I see holding him back are injuries, which derails a lot of promising careers, AC, Forkner come to mind.
He did say he has to win... Just not as much as the other guys.
@@underthetrees4780 pastrana?
@@Floridawoodsbanshee 100% Pastrana, like AC he won some "lites" championships but injuries derailed the premiere class career. He did pioneer FMX and is probably better off being the FMX goat than one of the better racers.
LOL...Danica is worth $80 million.
Deegans nowwhere near where Jett was at the same age
You’re high.
@@johnthompson5302 you really think Deegan could battle with Ferrandis?couldnt pull away from a privateer on a 250 2 stroke

@@jeffkeenan5439 no way you actually consider the time he broke his shoulder as “battling with Ferrandis” 😂
I'm liking Steve A a wee bit more after these interviews here, but the suit idea is just as stupid now as when he had KR wear one a few years ago. Said it then, say it again, They are racing DIRT BIKES. The sports jacket looked rather cool on KR last week, however.
Doppelgänger
I don't think Haiden is going to be as good as people think. Good? Yes. Great? Not sure. I haven't seen it yet.
What are you watching? Watch his UA-cam video from last week, practicing supercross. Watch his corner speed and also how he eats up a 5 sec gap and passes Justin Cooper like he’s sitting still. Kids gonna be incredible,
I must be getting old, because I've always thought Brian was a Punk.
Still do
Delusion

It was all good until Sean o malley was used an example lol
I personally hated Ken in the suit that was to much showing up acting like a God I love Kenny but ego can kill or hurt you idt Deagan will let his ego get the best of him but this guy didn't realize the danger part of stroking Kenny's ego a bit to much Kenny came back so humble after those injuries this guy I hope stays away from giving advise to super stars he seem greedy
I believe there is to much hype for him. I don’t see him be the prodigy everyone sees. I bet he will win 1 250 title and that’s it.
pathetic..
ofc you gotta be that guy… you clearly don’t see the speed he has, the way he rides and just everything about the kid. he’s definitely the next up
Gypsy gang, danger gang #238🍾🚀🤙
Who are these newbees? They did not know who John Tomac was when he was winning Mt. Bike races. YT is full of people who don't know what they are talking about.
I think this guy has absolutely the right mindset with the wrong person. Jet Lawrence is going to change the industry. Hayden Deegan will probably be another Alessi, or second generation that fades
Lol yeah because some random youtube watcher knows so much 😂😂😂
Did you miss the entire theme of what Steve said ?

Jett is the reason Haidian won’t live up to the hype. Jett has the bigger personality and is far more talented on the bike
Sales pitch
This reminds me of Miley Cirus. A totally fabricated character created by her father.
You’re clueless
As a figure his dad made fmx. Haiden is the next James or Ricky type talks
I was not impressed with Hayden’s motos from last year, we’ll see…
10 months on a big bike and coming 10th isn't impressive?? he was on a mini bike 10 months before
@@eliasvaldes82 I think you forgot one important thing and that is that Haiden had only been on a big bike for 10 months🤣

First
His dad ruined his SX career when he ghost rided his bike which he should of been DQ over cause that’s so dangerous to be doing.
Not Haiden.
🤔

@@leonibs5034 I raced with RC and JS7 thru Sr mini in the 90s. I can say I have been lapped by Bubba at Muddy Creek while he was on a 60 and I was on a big wheel 80. I saw their riding and progression first hand. Now, I live about 20 mins from where haiden practices in NC, at the bennick compound, and I get to watch Dax and Haiden ride quite often. I can tell you these kids are a different breed today! They have just as much talent, but they train and work and train, to an extent that isn’t comparable to the way we did back in the day! They optimize every second of every day, and they are analyzed and coached, they have nutritionists, trainers, etc… And then haiden has something in him that you can’t teach or coach. He’s got the drive and work ethic and motivation of a top pro grown ass man! He’s only AMA 16 dude!! I was only worried about pu$$¥ at that age!
