I'd love to hear your thoughts on this, we know AMA as stated is American focused, and heavily into internal promotion ie American riders products etc. The question though is the AMA missing a trick here supercross/motorcross in America is regarded as the top class world wide yet they are restricting there popularity on a global scale buy restricting the number of international riders for the reasons stated buy your guest, and television deals etc. Ok here in Australia obviously have an interest in the local riders in the Lawrance brothers, but the current broadcasting situation restricts us to paying $300 just to see them race on TV let alone to gain enough traction to actually get on a plane and support these guys, I believe it's the same anywhere outside the U.S dollar amount may vary. If the AMA wants to grow the sport on a global level they should be making international access easier/cheaper/free even to really grow there sport or are they just happy to be known as a local only competition?

    • @DanielMartinez-dv5pm

They can do it but Feld and MX Sports don't want to risk money into it. “Changing the script”… Brian’s going big, because he’s going “backwards” or so old school PR would call it. People are sick of fake and luxurious in this sport. His “marketing experience” has found that being real and working hard, is better than the persona. My son is the same age as Haiden, been watching him since. Brian kept him away from getting the ego, helped him work, and it paid off. Sure it works in many other sports/entertainment, but he has this dialed, and others will follow suit… or not. Brian’s persona was “at the time” popular, but a guy that that actually acts it, Barcia (cough cough), is hated by riders, but can’t say it because it sounds bad for their branding. Sounds silly, but easily seen…watch Eli and Coops face at round 3 interview.

Only time will tell. I just watched a haiden degaan video and I don’t want my 12 year old to see. With popularity comes responsibility. He was showing off on his property with a pitbike doing crazy stuff without a helmet is that what we really want to teach our young children. Also he goes shopping and it’s disrespectful to most people in the shopping center. Unfortunately they just betrayed him as a spoiled brat

Did you miss the entire theme of what Steve said ? And his emphasis on what the power of having an American super talent with huge marketability. He spoke about Kenny and making sure they kind of hid the fact he was from Germany, and that many people outside the sport still don’t know he is from Germany ( which included sponsors). And he was able to do that because Kenny doesn’t have the accent of a foreigner so they were able to script it with Kenny being marketed as an American athlete to maximize exposure. There is absolutely no hiding the fact that Jett is from Australia with that accent lol. That’s not a knock on Jett. Jett is an absolutely unreal athlete and rider. And I think Steve is spot on with what he said, and just for the simple fact that right now Haiden hasn’t officially started his Pro Career (I know he raced 2 MX Races) and Haiden is already more popular than Jett. And that’s obvious. Just take a look at their Social Media followings. Haiden literally has double the followers which holds a huge amount of weight and value with sponsors. So what Steve is saying is spot on in that sense. And not for nothing what’s with the hateful tone at the end and trying to bring the kid down almost hoping he doesn’t reach his potential. For sure he will be a better rider than you are at comprehending and listening when someone speaks and missing the entire point of what they are saying. Jase, you continue to carve out a beautiful space for yourself in the podcast world with your own super talent as an interviewer. Continued Success, 🤜🏼🤛🏼

@@josephbasile944 I think the problem is people are excited to watch and listen to jet Lawrence they're not excited to watch Hayden Deegan they love to see what the family has done and the family will be successful. However, I think like wealth, which I deal with a lot of wealthy families, the second generation really starts to decline and by the third generation they lose it all. I truly believe the same happens with fame. He will be good and he will be famous but it's his dad that drives the media much like Dale Earnhardt Senior drove that family to fame. I really don't see he has the personality to change the direction of Supercross or take it to a new level where Jett absolutely has that ability.

My point here is not to compare the two, but to point out that the last 4 motos of the season for an amateur kid just coming in are never impressive. I saw their riding and progression first hand. Now, I live about 20 mins from where haiden practices in NC, at the bennick compound, and I get to watch Dax and Haiden ride quite often. I can tell you these kids are a different breed today! They have just as much talent, but they train and work and train, to an extent that isn’t comparable to the way we did back in the day! They optimize every second of every day, and they are analyzed and coached, they have nutritionists, trainers, etc… And then haiden has something in him that you can’t teach or coach. He’s got the drive and work ethic and motivation of a top pro grown ass man! He’s only AMA 16 dude!! I was only worried about pu$$¥ at that age!
